Review of Selina Red Frog 3*

To be short: awful, dirty and wouldn't go there again. But I want to share my experience so you don't expect something wrong We arrived at the red frog pier where you have to pay 5$ to go through a private walk. After that we walked for an hour to find the hostel. There are absolutely no signs. The hostel is in the jungle and has a small walk through the jungle to reach the beach. The guy at the check-in didn't care that we had issues to find the hostel. There is another pier and from there it's very easy to reach it, but they never tell you that before (no message, no information on booking). The hostel is very stylish. But don't take a closer look. We waited for more than 2 hours to check in. Yes, the check-in time was 2 hours away but We were the only ones waiting so we didn't expected that. The room wasn't ready toll 20 minutes after check in time. In the meantime we walked around and then we saw it: The dirtiest common kitchen I saw in my whole life. The fridge disgusting. Pictures say more than words. Next bummer: The room has no floor so it's just blank and nothing covers it. At least a small transparent painting should be there. Thru this the bathroom floor was wet, is wet and will stay forever wet. It stinks and will be a health risk for future guests. In my opinion there are two options: -The owners had no idea how to build a hostel and just cared about the look -They ran out of money Through our stay we also experienced: -Apparently there a many people who work there but only three people wore a shirt which shows that they are stuff members — the guy at the reception either doesn't know how to use the computer or the screen was just blank and he was acting like doing something (check out took 10 minutes of hard clicking, till he asked if we already paid and if we can show him the receipt) -Bad mojito at the bar (let's be honest: it was the worst mojito in my life) -The guy at the bar was friendly and was always working (the rest of the stuff wasn't) -The Curry did look good and tasted even better.
