Comfortable, convenient, friendly, nice services.

Had a great stay here. The rooms were beautiful, we had a double and single bed with a courtyard. It was close to the city centre and places like the Queenstown skyline. Only downside is that the kitchen is only open from 6:30am-10:30pm but otherwise the staff were friendly. Bathrooms were good however cannot comment on the communal side of things as we had our own room.

Got a 4 person ensuite with my friends, really great value for the same experience as a hotel. Very friendly staff and the facilities are nice. Location is prime. Would definitely stay again.

Reasonably priced, good quality private rooms with ensuite if your travelling on a budget. The booking process is easy and staff are very friendly. I'll continue to use YHA when travelling around New Zealand!

Sound insulation very bad place if afraid of noisy do not recommend a stay, it is easy to encounter noisy dead Chinese with Hong Kong now!

Nice n cozy place to stay. Good arrangements, well equipped kitchen, well behaved staff and all facilities worth a stay.

Clean and comfortable location a lot of shops nearby, the cable car is also on foot to be able to, but there is no elevator with big luggage carrying a very tired.

Had such a good stay here. Staff couldn't have been more helpful. Topaz went above and beyond to help us out. Great Central location also, highly recommend it!

My review won't be too detailed as we arrived late at night and left early in the morning and had a private room for two. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was fine with complimentary tea and coffee. Too bad the European plugs didn't work even though that's a very handy option.

Location is great, the rooms are old but clean. Bathroom water pressure is relatively small is the most regrettable place.

Easily one of the nicest hostels I've stayed at. Really friendly and helpful staff, great rooms, nice kitchen, although a little small. Would definitely stay again.

Great hostel. We booked a private room with ensuite that happened to have a really nice little private patio as well, so it basically felt like we were staying in a full hotel. Only stayed here two nights but we would've been happy to stay for more. The communal kitchen is pretty standard but with a really nice view in the morning. Also the location is extremely central, the street is lined with bars and visitor/tourist type agencies where you can book activities. It's also a 2min walk to the lakefront. Only downside is there isn't really any parking nearby.

YHA is right in the middle of Queenstown which makes it an ideal spot to stay for a couple of days. We had an ensuite room which was perfect for the four of us. Couldn't have asked for a better spot!

Very friendly staff and very clean and easy going. I just wish the kitchen/lounge didnt close. It closing meant I had no space to be up without anoying people in my room. Still highly recomend tho.

Facilities are very good, there is a fully kitchenware kitchen, Wi-Fi traffic is very strong, reception personnel explain clearly, attitude is also very good.

Great value accommodation in the heart of Queenstown. Rooms get quite hot on sunny days but otherwise everything else was great!

Asked if I could keep my bag in the storage room the morning after my checkout to which a mousey looking girl with medium length hair said “yes. ” Came back to retrieve my bag a few hours later was asked if I wanted to check in. I did not have a booking, I was allowed to keep my bag in there because they assumed I had a booking. Was told “thats really rude” never been called rude in my life. No decieving going on or anything. Got called rude because one girl felt stupid. Terrible customer service. Okay rooms but if I could take my money back I would. Not in the game of paying money to feel guilty.

Here last year. Excellent hostel. Staff were always friendly and tried to keep it quiet at night. Actually, I stayed at another hostel in Queenstown and it was a mad house there, didn't get much sleep! Here you're still close to the centre, but it's pretty reasonably quiet — for a hostel — at night. Great views too, really done right if you want to have a social atmosphere, save money, but not looking to be the up-all-night party animal.

Nice place. Clean. Good atention. Nice view to lake. Only one toilet out of rooms. Too noisy some nights at dormis, people on party and no control.

It was convenient and well maintained place to stay. We enjoyed our stay at YHA. The staff was very helpful and friendly.

There we're a few hick ups at first but they we're sorted out very fast very clean and quite really like it here will highly recommend.

Room is small but manageable, heater doesn't seem to work unless on full blast, water pressure in the shower is pathetic, window isn't airtight. However, for the price and convenience of location, it's all minor nuisances you can man up and deal with.

Great location, new furniture. It has pool table, nice kitchen, rooms are big and clean. Didn't like spirits drink regulated, only at kitchen and not within your room, that has a very nice terrace by the way.

Great Location right in the heart of Queenstown. Clean and Tidy. There''s no elevator which is mildly annoying if you have heavy bags. Still great hostel. NZ YHA hostels are so much better their Australian counterparts.

Great hostel. The best location, reasonably quiet at night, good sized clean rooms. All staff are extremely friendly, especially Andre, who helped us in booking all our activities and gave us great advice and recommendations as well.

Room ok shower terrible!. Cant sleep because you can hear base bar until early hours. Avoid if you can and we certainly would not stay at base! On a plus staff are nice here.

Not the prettiest YHA but decent size rooms and the front staff was nice, I enjoyed the kitchen location though decor needs updating great especially in the hallways.

Very Very poor room condition, the worst backpacker in NZ so far, strongly not recommend.

Perfect location, right in the town centre. Friendly staff and well equipted facilities. Totally recommend it, the only negative point for me: I travel on my own and came to Queenstown for Party, pity that there are not many other people.

We were received by a girl named Kate, and she has made all the arrangements for us, a family of 5, in the utmost patience and friendliest manner despite my Mum being less fluent in English. Appreciated all that.

The facilities were great. Some of the staff was wonderful but the service on the evening of December 24th with a girl ended up being terrible. She got very upset because we wanted to pay with debit card instead of cash. It's a shame the service got so bad on the last night of our stay.
