Very good hotel and service.

Convenient location for the railway and Picton ferry with great shops nearby.
Hotel has friendly and helpful staff. Beds are comfortable with a good choice of preferred pillows and well appointed rooms. Good value for money.

Great service, rooms need updating as the sink is straight out of 1998.
More towels could be handy for those unexpected incidents that can occur.
Shower cubical is a little tight for two and my partner couldn't get her leg up very well.
Overall customer service was great, seen the receptionist working elsewhere that night, good honest worker!
Just needs updating, bigger shower and more towels.

Great location for a stay in Wellington.

Great location, has everything you need including free Wi-Fi for teenagers, lovely customer service. Weekend with two teenage girls close to Te papa, supermarket, cable car, try Americanos for breakfast two minute walk away. Lovely weekend.

Clean and tidy. Helpful staff. But organize parking prior if you drive here.

It's fine. Hot shower, clean, warm. Coffee and tea in rooms not very nice. Breakfast is terribly expensive but flat whites are excellent.

We were here for a conference. Pleasant staff and fairly standard, large chain hotel. Handy for staying in town and visiting the sights. We had the $12 breakfast, which was more than enough for us. Although the bacon did smell divine… Parking was a tad of an expensive surprise as we hadn't booked ourselves. But, I suppose it's in line with big city costs.

Clean bedroom. Has all the basics in the room. When I first check-in, the guy at the reception was very welcoming and friendly. However, on the day of checking out, the ladies at the reception kept ringing to press for checking out. That was not very nice. Checkout was supposed to be 12pm but they rang my room once at 11.30pm then another time at 11.45pm. My phone was even ringing when I left the room before 12pm. That's pretty upsetting!

Clean room. Good space and has an ironing board and iron which is good for business people traveling. Good bathroom facilities. But room feels little stuffy and windows cannot be opened. Makes it feel little claustrophobic. Other than that it's a decent place.

Clean and functional rooms, beds are comfortable, bath area is small but clean and well equipped. Very friendly staff, especially housekeepingwho are always ready with a smile and a hello. Good filling breakfast is available in the restaurant, which also has excellent food of a night. More than adequate accommodations for an extended stay of a week or more.

Value for money and excellent location. Could improve by providing plugs beside bed.

The breakfast was the worst. Topped off with the doubt we had actually paid … and having to prove that… the coffee machine running out. Omg needed that to wash down the rubbish food. Budget accommodation and service.

Nice clean place but very hot. Too hot! 32 degrees in the room over night and way to uncomfortable to sleep. Front desk said no way of cooling the rooms.

Stayed here a couple of times. Friendly staff and clean rooms. Generally quiet if you're not too close to the lifts.

Great staff — hotel rooms are big, nice firm bed and quiet corridors. The bar and breakfast food is good but the staff far out do the quality with service!

Very convenient location as the Ibis is in the heart of the CBD. The room are always well made up and the staff are polite. The restaurant is well stocked with many choices. A well priced stay of you want to be in the heart of the city!

Bottom. Only one socket on the twin-room and that far from the beds, tight staff at the reception, "Wi-Fi is broken, will work tomorrow".

Good location. Rooms are too expensive and constantly varying a lot (from $170 to 450 for the same small room). No Wifi is included in the room rate. No pool, gym, or such. Windows cannot be opened, so you have to rely on internal air systems.

Average city hotel. View of walls and extractor vents driven by noisy fans. No fresh air — windows would not open. Dark dingy room. On a plus note — the shower was good.

Nice hotel, from which you can take a lot of business in the city centre.

This is a place our company regularly put us up at being close to the office. The business rooms are clean and comfortable and the restaurant does a good breakfast and their dinner menu also has some good options.

Simple but more than right Hotel for short stays in Wellington. It is located north of the center, very close to the terminal of Bluebridge, but you can get well to the most central area walking 10-15 minutes. The prices are correct for a hotel of these characteristics. The room was basic but it had everything you need, everything clean and bed large and comfortable. The Wi-Fi network was good.
Buffet breakfast without absence, correct. There is the option of underground parking in the same hotel for $25/day. Friendly and attentive staff at all times. Both check-in and check-out were fast and hassle free. They had a detail for our wedding, with a room upgrade and some chocolates.
For those who do not travel luxury, it is a more than advisable option.

Mechanical very noisy room no 327, outlook into internal courtyard very dreary. Helpfull staff and good parking. Room clean, odd that someone's food was left in fridge. Hotel is in a good location.

Better than expected. Very good and versatile breakfast. Rooms and beds okay. Bathroom is a bit small. Centrally located. Everything is within walking distance.

We booked this hotel according to the location and the fact that it advertised parking as part of the deal… so very very annoyed to learn when we checked in that it only accommodates 20 vehicles so we had to park a number of blocks away which means we would have to walk a million miles to get the car (plus pay to take it in and out of the carpark) or spend money catching a taxi or uber everywhere. Had we have known this we would never have booked it… very misleading… beware.

We stayed two nights in this excellent centrally located hotel, which was clean and spacious. We had a great meal in the restaurant and later drinks in the bar which was open late. I would recommend.

Friendly staff, 24hr food menu for those returning in the wee hours after a night out. Easy access. Very comfortable.

The kettle had rusty resistance, the shower towels were small, finite and very rough; The mattress was uncomfortable and the views were not good.

For an Ibis, this is exceptional. Great location, great parking, and great breakfasts. Rooms are basic but comfortable. Let's face it if you're holidaying to stay in your hotel all day you wouldn't come to an Ibis, but this was a great place to base yourself while in Wellington.

You get what you pay for. And if you're looking for a decent room at a decent price then Ibis girls are that. The staff at the Wellington Ibis made check in a breeze and we're extremely helpful when I booked a car park in the basement parking area. They were knowledgeable about the surrounding area and suggested some great places to take the kids. It's not a 5 star hotel, and doesnt pretend to be, although it seems some reviewers expected that. The best thing about the Ibis in Wellington is that you're right downtown, walking distance from the beehive, te papa, and lots of other fun things. Would stay again.

As expected from the IBIS brand, the room is tidy, clean and comfortable. The location is great, close to the waterfront, a 5 minute walk from the shopping area and only a 15 minute walk from the zone where most restaurants are located. There are only two shortcomings that I would flag — the most important one in my opinion is that Wi-Fi access is not complimentary, but requires a $10 payment (shouldn't be hard to offer it for free nowadays…) ; the second one is that electrical plugs have a safety switch very close to the contacts, which makes it impossible to use any international adapter that is not small in size. I believe these two points are only relevant for international travellers, but wanted to highlight them nonetheless.

Checked in to our room. Burn marks all over the floor and within the first hour of being there two staff members somehow entered our room even though the deadbolt was on. We switched hotels immediately.

Great location, clean, but could use a refresh We stayed here for 2 nights while visiting Wellington. It is a nice, central location. The hotel itself is conveniently located within walking distance to many local attractions. We love staying at a hotel or inn where you don't need to rent a car or even take a cab. Despite rainy weather when we were here, it was easy to get around town, grab dinner at the pier, and see some local sites. Rooms were clean and un-fussy, but the carpet was thin which gave this an overall feeling of needing a bit of an update. The staff was pleasant and loaned us electrical converters for our smartphones. We did not eat on the premises as there were plenty of wonderful restaurants nearby.

Great location, very central yet the street is quiet. All attractions are within walking distance. The prom is not very sound proof. No free Wi-Fi for guest.

Hotel is OK and customer service is good. Just dont expect a car park if you arrive in your own vehicle. Not sure how many parks are actually available, but we missed out on both our visits, despite requesting a park the day before.

Great staff doing the best with what they have but pretty average facility. Hard beds and very small rooms, tiny shower. If there is a spare park bench, take it. This place is cheap without the price tag. Staff deserve medals.

Good middle of the road hotel in a handy CBD location. Bed was comfy and housekeeping and cleanliness is great. Worth staying!

Beds really comfortable. Location is fantastic for City and Waterfront access. Restaurant quite reasonably priced however the "hot" breakfast was warm at best depending on how long the food had been sitting in the warmers for. Internet connection was hit and miss throughout hotel with frustrating speeds or dropouts — they need to get this fixed.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Wtgn Ibis … we have stayed here a few times now and have always found from check in, throughout our stay to checking out to be highly accredited, great staff, nothing is ever too much to ask for or off. The beds are blissful, the showers have perfect pressure… buffet breakfasts scrumptious! And the added private car parking if applicable is a bonus, even for the extra charge.

Great service, shame the car park was full but offered a good rate for parking elsewhere. Breakfast was lovely, ample choices and even pancakes on request. Will stay again. Thank you.

Good & convenient location. Closer to everything. Clean and tidy room and has all basic requirements for budget type. Restaurant is good too. Got friendly staff. Breakfast is good enough for continental.

Nice and central to waterfront and handy to westpac stadium. Convenient to take bus from airport and short walk from cable car bus stop. Convenient breakfast and bar area with good size screen to watch any big sporting event. Happily stay here again.

I enjoyed my stay last night as the hotel is comfortable and the food was great but I was cold through the night. If you turn on the heater you cannot sleep because of the noise. 1 blanket in the room is not enough as I was cold even with it. Such a shame as everything else was good! I'd stay again but would need a heater in room that doesn't sound like an engine.

Excellent location, close to city center and Cable Car. Well connected by public transport, good coffee and restaurant service. Nice staff and well maintained hotel. Also Value for money. Luxurious for the price I paid.

We had an online deal that included breakfast. The buffet breakfast and restaurant below were top notch. We had brilliant meals each night and at a reasonable price. The facilities were clean comfortable. We enjoyed our stay and would definitly return! Thank you.

Having emailed asking for an extra night to be added to my existing booking I received a reply stating my check in and out date and my room. Their policy states that if I don't prepay they will hold my room until 6pm the day of arrival. That's no problem I arrived at 5.30pm, big problem when they told me there was no booking for me and they were full. They rang their sister hotels which were also full then just left me in the foyer with no options or offer of help. I was a lone female and with no other accommodation options in the cbd other than backpackers I took a taxi that cost me $65 to stay in a cottage. Very poor service, the only compensation I received was three small chocolates and a free hot breakfast which was as cold as their showers. My TV flickered a black screen, that was after it had warmed up for 15 minutes from a solid black screen, but the sound was great what a luxury. The air con was so loud I had to remove the power card so I could sleep. Most disappointing is the extreme lack of customer care and responsibility.

Great central location, friendly staff (even when I lost my room pass and needed it replaced at midnight) I would highly recommend this as a great value for money spot in Wellington.

Nice and clean but oh so small rooms. The service was fairly quick, the food is decent but I swear I could touch all four walls at once. Nice enough for a night or two but I wouldn't call it a luxury location.

Location is good, otherwise not worth the money I paid. There's no microwave in the room, no room service and the most annoying part was the room design. Walls are too thin and I could feel the whole bed vibrating and shaking as they were cleaning up the next room. Cleanliness in the shower was an issue as well.

Location was great. Able to walk to many interesting places. We had a problem like "Lars" with parking. Not much interest in helping us and need to pre-book was not made clear when we booked. Total disdain when we asked about parking. Directions to a very expensive car park were vague for newcomers to a city. Reception staff (2 men) looked us up and down and were very condescending and unfriendly when we booked in. This we found unbelievable! Staff in restaurant were fine but no one reminded us to use our Accor card to obtain the discount on meals! Small courtesies were lacking. Room was fine. A shame about the reception and car issue.

Really great place, Staff were great and helpful, room was clean, well presented, We had a problem with people next door and staff sorted us out right away no fuss at all! I would stay again for sure.

Had booked the hotel on the web from Australia, and had a reservation confirmation. Arrived in my rental car late at night, after the flight from Sydney. When checking in, I asked where to park the car, and got the reply that if I had not made a booking in advance, there would be nowhere to park. It had not been made clear when I made the booking, that I would need to book parking too. Normally hotels always have parking space for their customers. Then, "By the way, we do not have any room for you either". (! ) The booking I had done over the net, and of which I had a printed confirmation, did not exist. I asked, "What do I do now? " They then suggested that I could get a room at another hotel in the same chain (Novotel) for the first night, and then move back to Ibis (Novotel did not have any room for three nights, and they were not sure if there was any parking available there). Of course I declined this, I did not want to move back and forth between various hotels like that. I then asked them to help me find another hotel, and eventually I was offered three nights at Novotel (they obviously managed to find a lost room, or they kicked someone else out).

Handy to all amenities. Within. Walking. Distance. Quiet. Room. No noise at all stay there from 03/02/14 till 06/02/14. Foodwise not to bad for breeky no complaint at all.

Nothing to say home and benefits at the height of the sign.
Practical info: Not easy to find places around the most part are paying for 2h max parking
The hotel is very well located once the car placed in the parking of the basement of the hotel for $25 we did everything on foot in addition it is a 3mn by car from the departure of the ferries
I highly recommend it.
