Great Hotel right in the centre of Ameland!

We are the first time on the West Frisian island of Ameland and totally thrilled!
The hotel is very nice, with a pleasant atmosphere, very sympathetic, courteous staff, beautiful rooms furnished with great attention to detail!
We feel very comfortable here! Great praise! 5 stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

We stayed for a weekend at the Hotel Van Heeckeren. It was very clean and stylishly furnished. The breakfast buffet was very tasty. Plenty of fresh fruit and freshly squeezed O-juice complete the buffet. Our room had its own whirlpool and double showers. Unfortunately, there are no cupboards in any of the rooms, so you can't set up. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Van Heeckeren Hotel is een prachtig hotel met zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel. Het ontbijt is vaak niet inclusief maar is de 15 euro die je moet betalen wel waard. De aan het hotel gekoppeld grand cafe en strandtent zijn ook aanraders. Daar hangt dezelfde aangename vibe. Verbeterpunt vind ik de schoonmaak van de kamers, dit wordt iets te kort en op onhandige tijdstippen gedaan.

More than the nice (design) details in the room and the rest of the hotel, the staff is responsible for the 5 star review. Greeted with s smile, they were very helpful, exceptional service during breakfast, and very courteous during check out. We're looking forward to going again.

Nice hotel with super rooms and 1 a beds. In the rooms there are various "types" to choose from, such as: one with Whirlpool, another with steam sauna etc. Is best seen on their website. The rooms were very clean on both visits and we had our own Jura coffee machines and coffee in both rooms. Coffee, tea, water and pastries are available at the reception free of charge throughout the day. Friendly staff and excellent breakfast. We were already the 2 x there and definitely coming back. If the hotel had a bar it would be perfect for me 100%.

There is no wardrobe to store the clothes. Information for tourists from abroad is rather sparse. English translations could help. Free tea and coffee available all day. A large duvet for 2 people. On request, get a 2nd blanket though. Mademäntel are not standard in the Wellness suite with steam cabin. On request but also here get some. Overall, everyone is very friendly, even if the understanding is sometimes difficult.

Very family run hotel with luxury in the room like whirlpool and rain shower. Located in the centre of NES. Coffee, tea, water and pastries at any time free of charge, even on the entire day of departure. The breakfast buffet was very good. In the middle of the most beautiful Dutch North Sea Island Ameland.
Offer prices are unbeatable.

We had a very nice time at the van Heeckeren, and would book a room at any time.
The coffee machine in the room was great.
Breakfast was also very classy and worth the money.

The management seems more on Earth rather than to focus on class. Since the change of ownership, while there a better atmosphere, but somehow the locations operated by the management are relatively similar.

First: The cocktails were warm with no ice. Second: the service first ignored us, served someone else. And she didn't come back. Third: the very high price of 8.50 euro per bad mixed cocktail isn't worth it. In conclusion: I will never ever visit this grandcafe again.

Good service. Cool fireplaces by the tables that set a nice mood. The staff was really good about accommodating to my wife's egg alergy. They had a good deal on a three course meal. I thinl the pasta wasn't home made, but the mussels were really good. The cocktails were a little over priced, but I think cocktails are a bit of a novelty on Ameland. I would go back there again.
