Seems cool but don’t settle for a ground floor room! First impressions (excusing the fact it took 5 minutes to be let in via the intercom as the reception desk was unmanned) were good, the reception area is very modern and trendy as per the photos online. But having been given room 92 by an extremely unenthusiastic receptionist this place took a turn for the worse. The room is so small they had to cram the sink in right as you enter the main door and you can’t hope to open the shower room door if you’ve moved the chair out. The room is also right by the lifts and communal areas so prone to lots of noise. Couple this with the laughable €4.50 for a bag of m&m’s in the mini bar and overall the experience is soured significantly. Lots better options in the area for the same or less money, I’d recommend shopping around and giving Hotel JL a miss.

Just departed the hotel this morning after a wonderful stay. Thomas was exceptional! A delightful young man that truly wants to please the guest. Breakfast, location, staff and the rooms were great. Cozy and warm in a quiet neighborhood. We will be sure to visit again!

This hotel is great! It's in a convenient location near the tram and buses. There are plenty of restaurants and shopping in the area. The staff is very friendly. The rooms are spacious and clean. I'll just note that with the modern style of the hotel, I saw my first couch like box spring… There is a nice garden in the back where you can sit in to enjoy the weather or eat. They serve breakfast and snacks at a full honest bar in the lobby.

Previous guest's pubic hair on mattress and floor. Bathroom with questionable stains on the toilet. What looked to be blood stains on the curtains. Breakfast was cold and there was a hair in my orange juice and egg yolk on the fork. Eight hundred and fifty pounds for a 3 night say. I stayed here from 30th April — May 3rd. 0/10 *** Edit 22/05/18 After a copy and paste response from management which in effect says "tough, we don't care", they have made absolutely no effort to remedy the situation apart from " hey come back to Amsterdam. Nothing in the world would convince me to stay in this hotel and I have sent pictures of my evidence and a review to my friend who works as a senior editor at Hello Magazine. Lets see how much they care about their customers.

The location of the hotel was perfect, it was located opposite the Van Gough museum and near a beautiful park. The staff were really helpful with helping us navigate around the city and so friendly. We visited the restaurant one night and the food was lovely with excellent service. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone planning on staying in Amsterdam and I will definitely be going back myself.

Friendly all is centrally located right behind the known Rijskmuseum museum. Council!

The people make the stay, and this is so true for JL 76. Everyone we encountered made us feel right at home and part of the family. The room was large and had a jacuzzi tub. The breakfast served was the best I've ever seen at a hotel as well. If I come back to Amsterdam this is where I will be staying.

Beautiful room with a pretty view, phenomenal location just a couple minutes' walk from the Riksmuseum & the Van High Musuem.

Great experience with one of the best valued locations in Amsterdam. I started years ago in another place so comparatively this time was much better overall. The rooms were about average size but the comfort was much better and the staff were very receptive to our needs. One if the things that could be worked on is perhaps the average like span of the sheets. There were a decent amount of stains that would normally be thrown away even if the sheet was washed. Location was superb next to the famous Rijksmuseum and close to the tram and Heineken Experience. Definitely recommend!

A great hotel located in a very good area of Amsterdam. It is not in the very center but it is very well connected by public transport. You also have good services in the area: restaurants, shops, museums, parks, etc. It is exactly next to the Rijksmuseum and the symbol of "I Amsterdam". The service is great, very friendly, they helped us in all they could. We had to enter the room before the allowed time because of our flight and we were not put in any trouble. In short, we were very happy with the accommodation in general.

Very nice and attentive staff. Compact but efficient room. The super bathroom with shower and jacuzzi. Convenient location x trams. Great!

The service is excellent. The rooms are super spacious super Central of all sites (by bike which they rent for 15 euros per day). In summary excellent.

Nice hotel, staff was reasonable helpful. For us it was not possible to check in before 15:00, but you can leave your luggage there for storage and do something else. The hotel is literally 100m from the Van Gogh museum, or one parallel street from the main luxury shopping street in Amsterdam. Parking in the street close to the hotel is very difficult, the parking garages in the area are very expensive (50 Euro / 24 hrs at the least). The breakfast at the hotel is also quite pricey, there is a breakfast place around the corner (Blushing) that does nicer breakfast for less money. The rooms were small but nice, the bathrooms very nice, modern and functional. Everything was very clean.

Super hotel, super staff, not too big and very nicely furnished. Rooms include a TV and a rainforest shower in the bathtub. Top Hotel.

Excellent value for money in Amsterdam, it deserves to be reported.
Rooms not huge but welcoming, well equipped and very quiet.
Ideal location to visit the city without being in a place too transient (10 to 15 minutes).
Only the price of breakfast is exaggerated: €20… really!?

Lovely hotel. Great service and location, clean rooms and helpful staff. Very close to the Van Gogh museum which is my favourite museum. Plenty of restaurants to choose from and the food was excellent.

The rooms were large and had many amenities. The bathrooms were lovely and although I didn't go in the Jacuzzi bath but the shower was amazing.

While visiting the neighboor our group decided to lunch at a friendly hotel in order to discover more and better options and JL n76 totally fullfilled our expectations. Really well and polite staff and nice food despite the short menu options. We would always recomend and return.

Brilliant hotel, very friendly and the facilities are good, perfect location in my oppinon, Not to busy but still right next to the main attractions, could be in a better place :)

The staff are amazing. Extremely friendly and helpful. They can take care of all your ticket needs, reservations, and keep you flush with coffee. The Wi-Fi was a little spotty until they rebooted the hallway router. Also, the shuttle to the airport is ridiculously expensive, but the bus is just around the corner for €5. AC and shower are great. Bed is firm, FYI. Great stay overall.

Location has been fantastic, close to a few popular destinations and transit. Very friendly and professional staff. Room was great, we had the executive deluxe and it was worth the upgrade. Would definitely stay again.

Stayed on the third floor, very nice hotel, lovely rooms with jacuzzi bath. Friendly staff. Very well located for all meusems and getting into city centre. Only 10-15 mins on tram 5 from Central station.

Do not allow them to put you on the lower floor. We were down there for our first night and got no rest at all. By 6am we could hear the kitchen getting ready for the day as well. One we were moved above ground our start got immensely better.

Our group of three booked a single night here and ended up being placed in the family suite. The staff were very friendly and spoke English well, and the room was very comfortable. We would definitely considering staying here again if we returned to Amsterdam.

We stayed here for 4 days in mid May. The rooms were a bit small, but otherwise everything was good. The staff was friendly and spoke English well. The hotel is very close the Museumplein, which is nice for tourists. I liked the so called "Honesty Bar", where they stock a handful of snacks and decent beers. You just take what you like and then fill out a little form and send it to the front desk.

I had a great stay here (nice place, terrific location), but next time, I'm bringing my own soap. They only provide one tiny, non-lathering bar that you have to shuttle between bathroom and sink.
