Very good hotel in an absolutely picturesque area. Very nice staff. Very nice terrace. The restaurant is very good and highly recommended. The restaurant almost reaches star level.

A really great hotel, the atmosphere and the landscape are fantastic. Breakfast is adequate and the restaurant looks incredibly chic. The hotel rooms are not too big and not too small. Very clean only the carpet looks old. Great TV and a great view of the lake. At night it is quiet and you can spend very well in the bed. The swimming pool is old and unfortunately very dirty. The two sauna was great, only the "sauna area" is old and yet in the years. The gym has everything you need for cardio training (treadmill, bike, stepper and a plyo-box/jump box) There is still a kicker and a few board games available for free.
Have stayed in many hotels and I have to say, this hotel has a great feeling, which is rare. That's why 5 stars!

Dreamlike location in a district of Venlo. Super beautiful hotel which combines old masonry with quality quality comfort of new furniture. Large rooms with beautiful bathrooms partial shower u tub. House very nicely decorated. Breakfast very well except that there was four days the same cold cuts and no salmon on Sundays. The scrambled eggs weren't good. Like there are yellow pamphlets … but otherwise a lot on the buck. Dinner super great u menu very very good. Advertise not with sauna area, but only with swimming pool. The sauna area should also not be recommended. Small and all in a room something loveless u not cozy. Come back!

A beautiful hotel, which used to be a water castle. On insect repellents such as mosquito spray, one should not forgo. Breakfast buffet phenomenal, interior beautiful, rooms exceptionally spacious and tasteful, staff very very helpful nice and friendly.

Very nice hotel. Service consistently friendly, the restaurant plays definitely in the upper class. Rooms were pleasantly large, beds also comfortable. However, you have to be aware of living in a castle. Means wooden windows, shower curtains, deliberately historical tiles in the bathroom etc. If you value the ambiance, you will get the most out of it. Only the spa area leaves something to be desired.

First night and alls well. Very classy joint staff fluent in Dutch English German beautiful little restaurant lovely rooms and a charming bar set up that spreads across the foyer. Looking forward to breakfast tomorrow. I'll keep you posted lol.

To anticipate: Anyone who checks in here and expects a nice spa area will be disappointed. The spa area is outdated, the showers drop and splash incessantly and there is no separate relaxation room. The 4 beds are right next to the showers. There is also a small Finnish sauna and a steam room. The swimming pool also needs the renovation, too bad that a nice lighting in the swimming pool is missing.
Otherwise the hotel has a lot of charm and flair and the staff are all very friendly.
Rooms: In our double room everything was good, but we would have liked a more modern heating and no heating fan. Safe would be nice too. We enjoyed the welcome surprise in the room upon arrival.
Breakfast: Very tidy and plentiful, everyone is fed up. The service is also very friendly.
Bar: Expandable. In the lobby there are many comfortable seating areas and there are a variety of beers to choose from, but we would have liked to have classic cocktails at the bar, unfortunately there was a false indication.
Restaurant in the House: highly recommended, see the review of "de Alde Heerlickheijt".
Conclusion: Those who value good food and nice ambiance are right here. If you are looking for wellness, you should book elsewhere.

Beautiful hotel located around water. Local stuff was friendly and services on high standard. Everything you expect is here including nice walk in the gardens and view from your room. Room was smaller, but comfy with good bed and clean relaxing bathroom. You will not be disapointed with breakfast but you will not be excited either. Fruit and vegetable should be more apealing and fresh, which it was definitely not. Didnt tried local restaurant. 4, 5

Beautiful dining experience in this hotel restaurant. The interior is cozy and warm. The food portions were big and well prepared. The venue is very cozy and cute great for events and pictures.

Great Location, very friendly staff. I find the Interplay between the Old and the New is very successful. The Breakfast is lovingly prepared and is accompanied by a very friendly Service. The beds are very comfortable, the bathroom big enough and clean. The swimming pool is very nicely photographed, but quite sufficient. The fitness room is equipped with two treadmills, two Steppers, and three wheels. The train station can be reached in approx. 800m and in 5 minutes you are in Venlo. The perfect place to be. Relax for a few days.

Nice hotel, very good food, discreet friendly service, very clean, large room, swimming pool, pool, sauna. The food in the restaurants is very good, that breakfast and especially the bread excellent.

Very idyllic and quiet location.

We loved our short stay at this hotel. The reception and service was excellent, the wonderful food and the bed was the most comfortable I ever slept left on in a hotel. Our room was beautifully clean and only lacked air-conditioning on what was a warm humid night. The food was delicious, if a little expensive and the service exceptional. I had the best scrambled eggs in a hotel. In this day and age and this comfort level we expect Wi-Fi or wired broadband are included in the rooms. Overall a very comfortable stay that we will be repeated on our journeys between Germany, Denmark and the United Kingdom.

Very pleasant journey — beautiful introduction to the hotel, food and service in the restaurant were very good, bed was very comfortable and even pillows. Very beautiful and peaceful surroundings.

There needs to be a selection of menus for large parties and improvement of bar service.

I liked the hotel but was very Diappointed that all my colleagues had breakfast gebenes rooms included, but I was told that I would have to pay 25 EUR for breakfast. I know my colleagues in the same room stayed and paid less incl. Breakfast. I was paid in room 317, paid Eur166 and colleagues of less for room 318 and 316.

We visit the Chateau frequently and it has never been a disappointment. The food is excellent, the staff friendly and helpful and the atmosphere in this small castle is great.
