Cool place to go relax on the beach and have some food. Burger was excellent. You pay for a bed and they bring you towels. The money you pay for the bed goes towards your bill. Staff was friendly and had good service. We come here every time we visit Tuluum.

Overpriced for the quality of facilities and services. Still a great concept but maybe past its prime. No common pool and with the seadweed situation, it may be better to stay elsewhere or opt for a cottage with a plunge pool. Food and beverage quite pricey. Exit hotel, turn left and walk five minutes for other restaurants.

Came for a party but it turns out it wasn't happening as expected. We still hung around for a drink and relaxed a bit. The landscape there was beautiful and the staff there was very friendly and helpful. A bottle of water is almost $10 CAD so watch out, however I'd still stop in for a beer if I passed by it again.

Restaurant with Beach Club, the place is nice it has vibe, but the prices somewhat elevated for what you are offered. It Should be 20% less in price and would be an excellent option. The Beach touched us with a lot of twill, so you could not appreciate all its beauty.

It is a great place to enjoy the morning or afternoon in Tulum with great food options that are well cooked in every aspect. The service is slow more than other places. And once a month they offer the full moon party. That's the best night party in Tulum it gets really crowded and it's a great option to party hard. It's quite expensive but you will like it.

I found a cockroach in the bathroom, the next day packing and when you arrive at the city where I live, and unpacking I found a cockroach living inside of my things, it is not a cheap hotel for the type of hygiene measures that have.

I went to an event on May 13 Art With Me at night. The staff of the entrance asked us to dispose of responsibly plastics and cigarette butts. It is seen that it is a place with a positive environmental impact.

A little expensive pero worth super chido.

Hard to convey how disappointing this place was. We were really looking forward to our stay and had planned this as the blowout of our trip but when we arrived at 3pm our room wasn't ready. It kept being pushed back and we weren't able to check in until 6pm. We asked if we could have a free drink in the bar and were refused. The room was extremely disappointing and full of bugs and the restaurant had no Mexican food on offer. Do yourself a favour and stay somewhere else and just come here for the day unless you can afford the villas.

It is the best hotel in tulum their cabins are magical in addition to his personal is the maximum is a unique experience and the holiday pfff 100 % fun.

We spent the day at the resort’s Beach Club today and received exceptional service throughout the day from Jesus. At least a dozen young men rake the seaweed daily, so they work hard to maintain their property. A great place to soak up the sun, or not, on a beautiful beach.

This place is a scam. Do not order any liquor here, it is all bootleg and watered down. I own restaurants and bars in the states and would not make this claim against anyone unfounded. I was there two weeks ago with a group of friends and we ordered, drank and paid for 33 shots of Don Julio and about 4-5 rounds of Havana Club 3 year and cokes etc (there was 5 of us drinking) and we all walked away unphased. Do not eat or drink here, they are scammers.

You don't pay for what you get. This is one of the most expensive hotels in the area and it is impossible to realize it. The service of the beach bar and restaurant is terrible, the bike rental service is also worth it, there are no phones in the bathrooms, and it is not well cared for. The reception area is the only part that can be saved from the hotel. The employees of "guest experience" always very attentive and giving good service. I would not recommend it but even to go for a tequila (unless you do not mind that they arrive two hours after arriving)

Spent the day here (not a hotel guest, just for the beach club) and loved the atmosphere. If you aren’t a techno fan grab a chair or cabana further down the beach. The food is great and fairly priced. Whole resort is gorgeous to walk around. Took off one star because of the lack of waiter service on the beach — I was pretty far down and they never came over.

Made reservations, got us a table and then they never brought us a menu, got up and asked for one, another 15 minutes till the server to take a drink order, 30 minutes to bring drinks and my beer was warm, after another 20 minutes without seeing anyone we paid for our overpriced drinks and just left. Ask the while there's just employees lighting 1000 candles and smoking pot. I'm not exaggerating. I'm a pretty patient person but this place is a complete waste of time.

Worst place ever! AWFUL! If you are over 25 do not even consider it! They couldn’t even find our reservation. They got confused with the dates… they gave us an awful table somewhere in the corner of the club (covered) even though the club is outdoors. We ended up paying 6, 000 Mexican pesos for probably the worst night of our lives! They promised us a compensation which obviously we never got! If you are under 25 you could probably enjoy it! Organisation zero!

We stayed there 4 nights. The room (beach view cabana) was tiny and had nothing special. The service was not great at all. There was a building site just nearby. The beach is beautiful (but it s probably the same in other hotels). Parties are surely great but I would recommend to stay in another hotel.

Excellent place. Lovely restaurant and bar. Messed up our order twice then overcharged us, but it was all sorted out nicely.

Tried going here to eat and enjoy the beach. There was a kiosk on the streets idea of the property guarding the entrance and taking admission fees. Free beach access is easy to get to by walking in either direction from this property. We went next door, had a delicious lunch and enjoyed lounging on the beach for free.

Went here for the woomoon party on January 2nd and was absolutely blown away buy the whole atmosphere during the event. There are still a few things to improve for the beach club like more bar staff and less narrow paths connecting the areas, but all in all the location, music and attention to detail were magical and definitely justify the rather high ticket prices. From what I've experienced this is a must-go party spot in Tulum :)

Excellent place to hang out watching the beautiful beach of Tulum and beautiful view to the sky watching the stars while the service is very excellent The truth I recommend it to a hundred percent also the location of the place is the best I hope you go.

Here I am with my feet up playing back in the palapa as Christian hands me a beer without me having to lean forward! Papaya Playa is NOT the Ritz Carleton but that’s the whole point. Better service without the pretentious feeling. I can afford to stay where I want and I’d pick this “3 star” over a chain “5 star” hotel any day! Young crowd, great chill music that’s not overpowering, and a very hungry staff that makes this place a gem in paradise. Stay here! P. S. Christian (outdoor food services manager) is one of the best assets this hotel has. He is a great source of advice for local attractions but doesn’t try and sell you anything!

We had octopus and fish dry and very expensive. Also the waiter explained to us that we had to pay at least 10% extra.
Not recommended. There are better places to dine best.

Good view and nice atmosphere.

Very good place worth knowing, very parent table design with sea view, eh visited and 4 times this place, sometimes there are DJs events and music and it gets really good the atmosphere as you have good music and the sea breeze very good combination.

We did not stay at the hotel but rather enjoyed the beach club the time of a day.
The place is very pleasant, good service and good restaurant. The prices are not prohibitive and the music of the Beach Club is sweet which helps with relaxation. The beach is beautiful and the water really beautiful.

This place is literally heaven on earth! Words do not even do justice in describing not only the incredible beauty of this resort but also the beautiful energy and UNBELIEVABLE service at Papaya Playa. There is this unmistakeable enchanting vibe here that is just infectious! The rooms are amazing and fit perfectly with the whole theme of the resort. Location is perfect! Beach is perfect! Food is perfect! The staff go OVER AND ABOVE to ensure all your needs are met and constantly check on you to ensure you are happy and see if they can do anything further for you. I visited in May 2017 with 6 of my girlfriends and every one of us were just blown away by this resort! A huge special thanks to Rafael who made our stay extra special! We will all certainly be back and cannot wait for the day!

We booked this hotel to 4. Unfortunately our rooms were a quarter of an hour walk apart and there was no Wi-Fi so we always had to make appointments. Previously we were asked for special events by mail, which aroused expectations. On our friend's 30th birthday, nothing happened. There was also a party in the hotel where we were not allowed to take part without a ticket. We were placed in a separate room and were not allowed to order anything to drink. The rooms were very small and simple. After showering, the entire room was wet and filthy. Every day we found beetles and big spiders in the room. The beautiful grounds and the great beach are a good name. However, we had to walk for 10 minutes to the reception. Overall, the price-performance ratio is unfortunately absolutely not true. The service was very good and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The most expensive hotel we have ever stayed at and at the same time unfortunately by far the worst! No recommendation!

Great Hotel in which I will gladly return! The staff is great the hotel is well maintained the rooms are clean! The price remains high for cabanas on the beach just as great be them. A council will explore the restaurant of Tulum in town (notably the Argentine — on the main future) & and especially especially test the taquerias (local greasy spoon) PR tacos from another world…
