It is with great frustration and disappointment that I write this review. A wedding day is supposed to be a celebration of love I did not have that experience celebrating my wedding day in Villa Las Estrellas Tulum. My excitement for my wedding turned into a nightmare experience due to a male employee of the Hotel's receptionist team.
A few weeks before my wedding I spoken with 2 female receptionists who spoke personally with the owner to ensure I had a lovely stay and my private ceremony.
I was told in order to have a small area with a table and 2 chairs I would need to pay $320USD extra to allow for 15 people to drink a glass of champagne and use the area from 8AM until 4PM. We agreed to this and paid this to the hotel.
In addition to the 5 nights we stayed and paid for we were very happy to enjoy the garden area for a tiny reception of friends. My guests were at the hotel for a total of 3 hours and where non stop harassed by this male employee. He was disrespectful, rude and a bitterly angry man. Definitely NOT someone I would recommend being your gate keeper to your hotel! He should be re-trained on customer service skills or in my opinion fired.
My husband and I arrived days before the wedding to speak with your team and to arrange the details of the private event.
The front desk team assured me that on the day of my wedding I would have access to a clean space without furniture — and that never happened.

Do not waste your money staying here overnight. The suite we stayed in was overpriced and you can hear music all night from nearby hotels and all day from diners and visitors at the restaurant and beach club. We tried to get a refund for part of our stay due to lack of sleep but were denied. While it has nice access to the beach and the amenities of Tulum, it is not worth it to spend your money here.

This has become my favorite spot to sit on the beach in Tulum! The service, food, and drinks have all been excellent. The chairs are comfortable, there's both shade and sun, free Wi-Fi, clean bathrooms, tables in between longers to put your stuff on, and no minimum consumption (at least when we went November 2019). They just ask that you order food and drinks and you can stay for as long as you wish. We've been twice now and in addition to beers, which come in an ice bucket so they don't get warm, we've also had the mezcal Marg and ceviche… both excellent. This is a nice quiet spot with some chill music playing in the background. Will definitely recommend this place to all my friends that plan to visit Tulum.

This review is about the restaurant and beach club at Villa la Estrellas. We had breakfast at the restaurant twice and we spent a day at their beach club. We visited mid-August 2018. Our first visit to the restaurant was pleasant enough. Satisfactory food and great service. Our day at their beach club was great as well. No complaints. Our second visit for breakfast was different. We were greeted by a waitress that said "Can I help you with something? ". We hate that greeting. It implies A) we don't know the business is a hotel, a beach club and a restaurant B) we need help because we're idiots that don't know what we are doing. It would have been nice to hear something like "Good morning. Welcome to Villa las Estrellas. Were you here for breakfast or for lodging? " That waitress was rude throughout our visit. Not friendly, confrontational and curt. Gladly as the visit advanced the other waiters took over our service so we ended no interacting with her that much.

Fantastic food great service and hospitality. Very welcoming to day trippers too. Highly recommended.

Very nice hotel right on the beach with very friendly service and nice and well appointed rooms. Very good location near the bars and restaurants in Tulum.

First of all STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! When we arrived and tried to check in they didn't even notice is and only gave service to the restaurants clients. When they finally got to us they tried to charge us 40$ more then the price we reserved at booking. Only when I showed her the confirmation she relluctantly agreed to the original price. She then tried to charge us 34, 000 pesos, we noticed it only the seconds before the charge and she didn't even apologized! The experience didn't stop there — salted water in the taps, poor breakfast and a restaurant that charges 40% more then any other place in town for mediocre food. In the morning there were no water at all in the taps! Not to mention ants ant roaches in the room. This was by far my worst hotel experience ever. Stay clear, there are far better places in town.

Location was amazing. Absolutely loved the beach front suite and the beach club area is perfect. The staff is attentive and super friendly. Only draw back was that the food is mediocre and expensive, but there is better food near by.

We spent the day at Beach Club. Super Cool All the staff, the place very comfortable and we were offered to use the pool. Drinks and excellent meals, prices more expensive than the rest, but it was worth (one beer 100 mxn, 1 lemonade 100 MXN)

It would in principle be a wonderful place if certain subtleties are still improved, breakfast very poor, at times of peaks no hot water as well as towels available.
Every day and Bather there is also only one cloth available.

Just a dream! If these PIR Tulum… do not forget to stay or spend a day there. Another version of the natural paradise with excellent gastronomic proposal. Maximum comfort. Incredible aesthetics.

There were RATS in our room. Yes, rats, rat poison, rat traps. The hotel clearly knew there were rats in our room before we checked in, but thought it would be worth making money on the room during peak season. Not only that, but they didn't compensate us in any meaningful way. Fully story below… Jan 9 We encountered the first rat within 2hr of checking in. It was about 12 inches long including the tail, in the bathroom corner. We notified management, who brought a cat, which caught the rat. When we asked the manager whether this was a problem with the hotel, he said only our room, either because it was close to a fruit tree or the neighboring property. He then pointed out the rat traps in the bathroom, and blue rat poison at the edge of the wall/ceiling. Jan 10 I proposed to my fiancee on the balcony in the afternoon. We were thrilled. In the evening, she yells from our bed pointing out another rat at the edge of the ceiling. I notify the manager again who was unable to do anything, because the rat had disappeared. The blue rat poison was on the ground, which he grabbed and put back on the edge of the ceiling. Jan 11 I spot another rat, again at the edge of the ceiling, along with 3 different balls of rat poison on the ground again. I notify the manager, who comes in the room but the rat had disappeared. 15min later, I see another two rats, one in the bathroom ceiling, and another on the deck roof. I tell the manager.

Great place to spend the day under a palapa. No entry fee and easy to meet the minimum spend.

We spent the day at the Villa Las Estrellas beach club. The minimum spend was the lowest of the three beach clubs we visited, but we found prices to be a little higher. Our server was completely MIA for over an hour, which was a little annoying. We really like the seating options they had, and found they had one of the nicer beach sections.

Beautiful hotel on Tulum beach with idyllic sea views from each room; well-designed simplicity at its best. With white linen curtains blowing in the breeze, ginormous hammocks swaying on private terraces and blue, blue water just meters away, Villa las Estrellas is the epitome of barefoot chic. Set in the middle of Tulum's broad white-sand stretch, this romantic beach house couldn't be better placed for a relaxing holiday. And although the number of buzzy cabana hotels lining the beach increases every year, Tulum's vibe remains lovely and laid-back.

We used the beach club only. Lunch was super tasty.

I really liked that place, it is a babyand located on the beach of Tulum, with a letter and excellent chef.
The atmosphere is super relaxed as you listen and see the Beach and the sea while you take the food, or drink some drinks.
The place also offers small cabins to stay, is a jungle and relaxed atmosphere.

Excellent cabins, and a very good service, I do not agree with the music as it is very repetitive, I would have liked to just listen to the sound of the sea, the manager Pepe is the pure good vibe and nice.

So beautiful & relaxing. We had an amazing lunch steps from the beach in the cutest restaurant. Thatched huts & beach recliners just add the perfect touch to this charming destination.

Villas las estrellas is the best beach club / restaurant in tulum. The staff Umberto and Gabriel were simply amazing — best service we have ever got! The dog tequila is such a good boy and adds to the perfection! The waiters work so hard and the food is delicious!

Loved this place! The location, the rooms, the service — outstanding. The staff was especially welcoming — thank you to Pepe and Sylvia, and Guillermo and Samuel! Would come back in a heartbeat!

I believe it was the waiter by the name of Gabriel who was super welcoming and on top of it. I came here with some friends after being ignored at another restuarant a few beaches away. The waiter was consistently checking in on us making sure we had our drinks! Haha. My fiancé fell in love with the ceviche. I had a salad with veggies, fruits, and a mustard dressing. On top of that I had mango virgin margaritas… I was sick and took a break on the grown up drinks. The menu looks delicious and its a great spot with easy access to the beach.

One of the best beach clubs in the area. Cozy, usually quiet and so comfortable. The food is really good and the service is amazing. Simone, the owner, is usually around the property. Please meet Tequila the dog because he is adorable.

Completely happy with our choice to stay at Villas Las Estrellas — the room was great, as well as the restaurant and bar and beachside accommodations. It's affordable, unpretentious, incredibly well-kept and the staff seem to genuinely enjoy the atmosphere as well. Aldo and Oscar stood out with their A+ service and Aldo even provided suggestions for nearby nightlife. Also, Tequila the dog was the best company on the beach!

Had such an amazing time in Tulum staying at Villa Las Estrellas. Not only because of the amazing proximity to the beach (literally right outside our door) but for the amazing staff! Aldo became a fast friend and offered the best service—pouring tequila shots with love. Oscar was also a delight although it was his first few days on the job, we would have never have known with how comfortable he was in the setting. The staff is what made our stay wonderful!

This food is world class. The view of the beach and the ambiance of the restaurant fit well with the South Beach of Tulum feel. We had the lobster special of the day and there was nothing left on our plate. The portions were generous and the food perfectly prepared. The cocktails were delicious.

We had the most excellent dinner here tonight. The flank steak was one of the best we have had and the ceviche was incredibly fresh and flavorful. The service was personable with attention to detail — Hugo is the bomb. Selfishly, I want this place to myself. But if you must, please try it out. And don't have dessert… It is being funneled to my home in Colorado.

We had dinner here a couple of evenings. Great little place. Awesome view. The food was outstanding. The Goat Cheese Cheesecake was yummy. Nice cup of coffee too.

If you are looking to relax, good food, and sympathy that's spot on, other similar places nearby but this offers a little something extra, ' old city ' and good cocktails, beach service of any kind! Highly recommended.
