Very rude staff, the manager was completely inappropriate and sent a man to knock on the door at 3 am to intimidate us three women.

Attention, do not pay to this hotel, as it does not return money under force majeure circumstances! I can’t fly to them, because we have quarantine! I have been texting with them for two weeks now and will sue them. They are holding my 1, 500 euros! and block everyone who tries to write the truth about them! This is my letter:
I am sorry, but I am going to dispute this charge. I understand that the hotels are in dire circumstances, but so are private citizens. I am in the epicenter of COVID-19, our whole country is on the lockdown. I am in the Spain, where from sabaday the measures were prolonged till 3 april, hard carantin, with flights cancelled, etc, etc How can you possibly think I can come to Mexica? In fact, it is your response and your insistence on following “the reservation rules”, instead of understanding the extraordinary circumstances we are all facing, that make me not only want to NEVER stay at your hotel, past the time this nightmare is over, but publish everywhere I possibly can, on TripAdvisor and other travel sites how you are trying to basically profiteer in the time of war! We had the best vacation ever at Cielo Maya. Beautiful, tranquil place. Beach area spectacular and so private. Rooms are beautiful.
Staff went above and beyond always helpful and so kind. They even arranged to bring in a family guitar for hubby to use for the week. Best massage right out on the pier. Would go back in a heartbeat.

Beautiful place, friendly staff, great food, great breeze. Mid July and air temp in the morning and evening is perfect, mid day hot in the sun but decent with the breeze. Cenote Manati right across the street with crystal clear deep water, tarpon and other cool fish and supposedly a resident croc at the far end.

Hotel have confortable rooms, however the sea part is unusable, the water is durty, and there is seaweed sargasm everywhere. Impossible to get out of the room without smelling the bad eggs smell from the rotten sagarm, they are cleaning but is a useless effort because they just dont have enough people to clean their hotel ther areas around it. The restaurant have very good service but I feel like they are really after my tips and thats all. They even asked for tips for the included breakfast that we paid in advance. — — — How to deal with seaweed? get the community together and discuss ways to solve the issue, Brazil coasts are desposing large quantities of poison for their plantaitions on the ocean and this with poluyion and global warming is one reason is feeding this weeds so the governament gotta fight for your rights, since 2011 every year is being worse because the plants are just gonna keep growing, turists will stop to visit the coast since the beaches are ruined, carebean islands, Mexico, US and Brazil is being affected. The only way to preserve your business is actually do something about it or your hotel will be forced to close down just like many other hotels in the south. The only way to be heard is to get the community together because clean the beaches will not work when the quantity of this stuff goes crazy. Only saying this because I was really sad to visit your hotel with the sea conditions.

Terrible experience. There is seaweed everywhere. The smell is revolting too, good like with eating breakfast there. We booked 4 nights and they didn’t let us check the room until we paid in full. When we realized that it was because of the seaweed/smell, we asked in any reasonable way to be allowed to leave with a partial refund, but they literally said they didn’t want (not that they couldn’t) refund us. We had to book a second hotel and pay more money. Room are not bad but Wi-Fi is terrible too. No Amex allowed.

Great staff, very quiet place great for relaxing.

Definitely among the best hotels I've ever been to. We had two days in this paradise, and loved every second. Staff was very good and professional, although it's true that the restaurant staff varies a lot (breakfast includes two (! ) selections of items, we had to ask twice to find out). Also: theres a lovely Cenote across the street and a grocery store next door. If you stay at this place it taked a fairly expensive taxi ride to visit the city itself, so best stay here. It is truly a fantastic place, enjoy!

Nice, small hotel. Good restaurant with nice staff and good food. Unfortunately not much shade at the beach, they should provide some shade.

Remote, quiet location, great beach access, none of the usual beach hustlers. Over course of 5 night stay had to inquire about bathtub faucet plugged with grit, shower barely a trickle (not fixed), safe not set up, no towels. Service at restaurant hit or miss. Expect more for the price.

Very nice hotel with spacious, modern rooms at the end of a very potholed road. Nice beach but lots of coral/stones in the water so bring swimming shoes.

Beautiful place, you breathe a lot of tranquility, the employees are very friendly, the food is delicious, in the sea you can observe the colorful fish, and very close there is a beautiful cenote, the comfort of the rooms is excellent, definitely one of the best.

Right by the beach and Casa Cenote. Too far from Tulum centre and you're dependent on very pricey taxi ride. Hotel service a bit hit and miss.

Excellent view and sea. Many comforts. Very attentive staff. All very clean. 10 pts.

The hotel apologized for the delayed response, and was able to refund me after my ride to the airport was late and I chose to take the bus instead. The staff was incredibly gracious and helpful during my stay, and the hotel location is truly beautiful. It was a pleasure to be able to kayak for free in the mornings, and enjoy the fantastic sunrises.

Our friends are still waiting for the postcards that we have given you at the reception. (Ready to be posted).

A nice hotel, fairly large but finally very small. One big downside: the private beach edge is not clean at all (plastics, waste …) and impracticable (too many pebbles, …). You will not bathe there! Plan to be transported also as there is nothing accessible on foot except a cenote a few meters from the hotel.

Sorry to say hotel Cielo Maya treated us disrespectful. Took my wife there for her 44th birthday money was missing out of the room and the hotel blamed us and made us leave the hotel threatening to call the police never been so humiliated in my life.

Beware: My Wife was “Robbed of all her Cash”, from a private locked 2nd floor room on our 1st day — "and nothing was done to help us, instead we were asked to leave the hotel" — so other hotel guests would not learn about the theft. …
With that here is our True Story from our stay on Dec 13th 2016 that left us speechless: • I took my lovely wife to Cielo Maya for her 44th birthday and paid top dollar for food and theme room with a view. But during dinner at Cielo, I ran back up to my room to retrieve my reading glasses, that's when I found a maid strangely straightening up our room for a second time since we arrived. • Then shorty after my wife discovered she had been robbed of all her cash that was hidden in her purse in our locked private room, so she put in a formal complaint with horrific shocking results. Then after reporting the theft to management at the front desk, this is what happen. • Hotel Security actually sided with the maid who was smiling. • Then Hotel Security asked my wife and I to turn back around and leave the hotel or they would call the police. And when I asked why? • I was told rudely "your wife is a liar" and that they “100% trusted their maid” — who actually only worked their only 8-months.
— please keep in mind my wife is a trusted branch manager at a top financial bank in the US.

A hotel with good location, with enough personal privacy friendly and accommodating. It's not cheap but it's worth it.
