Very bad service, we arrived in the evening and when I went down to reception to ask if there was no hot water, everything was closed without any employee, in the morning we went down for breakfast at the hotel restaurant and it was still closed, the lady from the laundry told us that that day it was closed, and there were several guests. 😠😠😠

Great place to enjoy with family.

Great place to get some food and drinks. Room are the basic of basics. No hot water to shower. If you just need a place to crash for the night and don't mind a cold shower this is the place.

Make sure you get Room it has two slide doors than you can open all night to cool off the room on Summer… there's no AC nor Fans… next time I'll bring a portable FAN!

Best Marg I ever had! Stayed overnight in the surfer vibe hotel in number 5 on the Oceanside and it's a great View. Very peaceful with food that cannot be beat here. Very worth the 2-mile bumpy drive out of town.

Recently stayed here (6/18) on a Mission Trip, where we served at Open Arms and throughly enjoyed our stay. Beautiful view; like no other. Reasonable rates; averaging $10.00 a night per person. Great food; authentic Mexican dishes. Wonderful staff; we are a little shaky on our Spanish — and Emanuel on staff (speaking outstanding English) made this barrier no issue. We will stay her again!

We love La Cueva del Pirata! We stayed here in 2016 and fell in love with it. I wish the best for the place and the staff. They're all so welcoming and courteous. We'll be back again in September!

Half finished hotel, but with restaurant and bar, spectacular views, laid back and cheap, simple clean rooms.

Great view and nice people. The room was on the low end for Baja hotels, but it was only $500mxn. The restaurant serves great fish tacos.

Super Nice, economical with beautiful sea view and access to a small beach. The only thing was that in our room, the focus of the bathroom was not working.

Very good food and great service.

This was my second stay on a solo surf trip caught a few waves right in front off the point. The first I stayed with a group riding motorcycles (dirtbikes), the rooms are a reasonable price. The food is the best I have found on the coast when compared to the other hostel/hotel type places. The staff is friendly. The beers are cold. Hot water, and clean rooms. Don't be fooled by the normal half done construction, it only builds to the character of the place. It's not that far off the hwy1 and accessable by normal car.

WOW… when you get here you will love what the owner (s) are trying to do. They have taken a place, that should be defined in the dictionary as "Out of the way" and have begun a real transformation. The view is great, the air is fresh and the food is very good. The service is exactly what you would expect should you not be versed totally in Spanish but they really try. If you can take the 15 minutes to get off of Mexican Highway 1, and don't mind the long, dusty, dirt road… GO HERE. See the vision, see what the locals love and tell a friend.

This place was amazing had lots of fun there. The bartender makes great pina coladas and margaritas great customer service and nice views of the beach. Ps bring a fan the rooms get hot with no A. C. But other than that it was a great place to visit the shrimp fettuccini is delicious.

Is a cheap place. Good service, the food is good and is a quiet place.

This hotel is very remote. It is right on the ocean with great views. While great for the Baja races, it isn't worth it otherwise. Restaurant has great staff and decent food. There is hot water. Much nicer hotels in Vicente Guerrero and Colonet close by. But the Pirate is good on a budget.

The hotel is rather nice but the ride to get there is a hassle. The view of the ocean is nice, however, as far as how the hotel is structured, it is still being renovated. The place itself has a restaurant and rather comfortable beds. The showers have decent water pressure and warm water. It's definitely a tolerable place, although I recommend Hotel Colonet.

Amazing food. Great view of the Paciic. And the Baja 1000 runs right behind here. Best beans and rice… no really, the beans and rice are unforgetable.

Great location, staff and rooms! The hotel itself is only partially finished, but the rooms are beautiful, and the price is right. The restaurant is good, although the service is a bit slow. There's a pretty decent surf break right around the point as well.

Very good restaurant, only that the waiting time to eat is very long.

Waterfront camping with hookups for 80 pesos. That's less than 4 USD as of Jan, 2017!

It's has a great location where you can have a wonderful view, the ocean is right in front of your room so in the morning and afternoon you easily enjoy the sunrise and sunset.
