Lovely hotel only fault I can find is you have to go down to bottom floor for drinks as the outside pool bar is closed but says it stays open until end of October. The food is lovely and tasty enjoyed every meal, but not a great variety of vegetables. Breakfast is great full english, cereal toast, fruit etc. Not a lot of entertainment on in the hotel plus at the moment you can't dance when there is. Rooms are a nice size but could do with a set of drawers rather than a bench. Weather has been beautiful so happy lady and will definitely visit Malta again x.

Another excellent experience in every way. We celebrated anniversary in this very welcoming super clean covid safe hotel.

Nice rooftop pool. Quiet rooms with aircon. Food is adequate but not an extensive menu. Some facilities advertised were closed such as outside bar and another lounge area.

We visited this afternoon for Christmas Day Lunch. The atmosphere was wonderful. The staff very attentive and polite. Especially our server Karen. The food was abundant and also very fresh & well presented. Everything was cooked to perfection. We really enjoyed it. Very satisfied and a true value for money. Thank you!

If you want a basic room and don't want to spend a lot of $ this is the hotel for you since the only good thing about this hotel is the room.
One of the most disappointing things was the indoor pool which was cold and to make matters worse you need to pay at the reception to use the sauna.
After freezing in the indoor pool for about 10 minutes I went to take a hot shower in the indoor pool showering facility and guess what? There was no hot water in the shower either!
The shower in my room also had no hot water and the showering head constantly made a wheezing sound.
There was also no heater in the room, the AC didn't work as a heater so prepare to feel cold.
Food is also very basic and the selection was futile.
Definetly not up to a 4 star hotel standard, it felt like a 3 star hotel with a broken water heating system.

I must say this hotel is brilliant! very clean, food is good, good location. Highly recommended.

Good food, very clean hotel, excellent staff, air conditioning was amazing,, lager in the pool bar could do with being a little colder, and I wish people wouldn't play pool game's in the pool (firstly it's not aloud and it's not big enough either for games) will definitely be back.

BRILLIANT hotel stayed for 10 nights great location all inclusive fantastic food great cant say nothing bad about this hotel will be coming back.

Building work around the hotel starts at 7-7:30am (they will say 8am but I stayed there this week — they are lying! )
Spa facilities — Jacuzzi and Sauna do not work at all.
Maid does not replenish toiletries or coffee/milk left.
Keycards dont work properly.
Staff in the diner are very slow to clear up or prepare tables, told me I could charge drinks to room 1 day and refused me entry for non payment the next!
Toilet constantly dripping in room and generally badly maintained hotel Bizarre hotel to be honest, bit like Fawlty Towers.

We've just returned from a 4 night break. Stayed in room 452 in a comfort room. The views were of neighbouring apartments but didn't bother us as only used room for showering and sleeping. Air con was great in room and the room was very modern, beds not too comfy but I am fussy.
We stayed All inclusive and we were surprised at the choice of snacks and drinks available and the long bar opening times, cocktails. Wraps. Baguettes and ice cream all available.
The hotel is a bit of a maze with several lifts taking you to different parts of the hotel but once you've figured it out it's all good.
Breakfast was the busiest time for the restaurant, you can get sausages. Bacon, eggs. Beans, toast, cereal and fresh fruit.
The lunch and evening meals were amazing, fresh salad and a choice of pasta. Fish or meat on all nights.
The meals are not suitable for fussy children unless they just eat chips. We had curries. Stews, gammon, lamb etc but they were delicious dishes.
The staff were amazing, reception, the cafe bar and pool bar staff were all lovely and friendly and would even come along to your lounger and ask if you wanted another drink before they closed up.
We booked our airport transfer with the hotel too for 40 euros return.
We arrived a few hours before check in but was still given our all inclusive bands and got our room an hour early.

Nice Hotel and great location! rooms very comfortable. Cleaned every day. We stayed on the 6th floor — the construction of the new hotel was not bothersome. Nothing was heard. Wi-Fi works, air conditioning too. Super location, close by bus where you get to anywhere in Malta! the Golden Bay beach 30min (direct connection). Breakfast.

My self and my husband have stayed at the Santana Hotel for about 17 years and sometimes twice a year, we love the hotel, nothing is a problem from staff and management, I always recommend hotel to friends and family, and if our family comes over they stay at the Santana.
We arrive on the 14th May for a week and again in July fir 10days

Nice hotel ideal location great staff I've stayed here many times and will be doing again in September.

Nice hotel, they have some building works on the back side, can be noisy in the mornings but when is over should be fine. The room service could be more efficient but over all is clean and spacious. Breakfast ok. Staff is great and the happy hour at the bar is very popular. Swimming pools are good but need to pay for the sauna. We had a package tour with flight but for the price I think is pretty good.

Great location. Very good quality of cleanliness and good value. Some extras in my parer should NOT be such but included in the price (eg. The safe should be integrated and not to be paid separately). As for catering, OTTIMA! We ate really BENISSIMO at every dinner. Little variety but in favor of quality. Recommended.

Best breakfast I had in a long while! We didn't stay here that night but the place was nice so we stopped to have breakfast. Turned out it was a great decision. We asked for two cappuccino and two toasts for a grand total of 10€. They came out with a gigantic plate made of a big and very tasty toast, some salad with mayo and chips. What a surprise!

This is about our 5th time at the Santana. It is spotlessly clean and the food is delicious and so plentiful. The staff are very helpful and friendly and hardworking. We come usually once a year but would only stay at the Santana.

Lots of building work going on outside so very noisy and view from balcony is a crane moving stuff all day long very noisy not what we came to listen to what we expected was a nice chilled atmosphere certainly won't get it here at the moment. Staff in bar are fantastic. Needed to change our room not a problem done straight away snacks are good drinks ok pool area nice preferred the lower sunbed area nice and spacious would be nice hotel if no building work going on as you can walk to quite a few bars and restaurants.

The Santana is an excellent hotel in every way. 2018 was the 8th year in succession that I have stayed there and I look forward to each time I go to Malta because I know I'll be well looked after. Hence the reason why I'm looking forward to the end of May 2019. Everyone, whenever you look at them, responds with a friendly smile. And no task, no matter what it is, is too much trouble. The rooms are spotlessly clean and well maintained, as are all the public areas and bar areas. And for those who like their food, you'll be well impressed with the range of different options at breakfast, lunch and dinner. If anyone is considering going to Malta, stay at the Santana Hotel, you won't be disappointed.

You have to speak English in this hotel, because at the reception, no one speaks French. When there is a room assignment error, you have to "fight" to make yourself understood and thus solve the problem yourself.
As for the bed, the bottom sheet is too short and does not know the mattress, the feet are located in the mattresses. But the room and the shower are clean. They are made every morning.

Nice hotel with, from the 6th floor a beautiful view of the sea on both sides. A beautiful outdoor swimming pool on the roof, with an even more open view and a small swimming pool with a nice basement Spa. Only small downside (but many places on the island are like that) cranes all around.

Hotel it is very terrible. We traveling a lot and in this hotel was really bad. Very bad services, rooms terrible, and breakfast only English breakfast. It was good for two days, but 2 weeks — no. Going for a breakfast you can see cockroaches. Swimming pool very small and dirty. And if you ask to change room, they take money and give smaller room. Key not working correctly. If you want good holidays this hotel very bad choice.

Nice hotel. Room was clean and comfortable, although the walk-in shower always had the potential to flood the bathroom floor. Food was nice enough, albeit a bit samey at dinner. Breakfast good. Staff in bars were great.

A sad welcome. No French interpreter. Room with one bed for two instead of twin beds (friends). 3 days to get satisfaction. Basic meal. Drink limited. Very bad memory.

Fantastic Hotel, nice rooms and superb restaurant and staff.

We give in to fate to bring and stay there year of my collaborators, and I year reported that in comparison to other hotels on Malta this is outstanding.

Great Hall, good room staff, but dirty, noisy rooms and never change sheets in 8 days stay.
Definitely negative experience, with regard to the rest, there are many yards open in the surroundings that begin to work at 7 in the morning.

Large typical hotel Centre in Malta. The hotel is clean, the rooms antiquated but spacious. The breakfast is very good. The pool is a little too fresh a pity.

Nice location 1min away to the main bus stop to all deatinations. Rooms are clean always amd decent staff. Baby cott provided if you have a little one. Balcony for nice time relaxing in the day and evening. Indoor swimming pool were its always warm and outdoor on 6th floor. Breakfast is nice just the basic. No staff at night to help you with bags if you have big bags. Apart from that I am happy with the hotel. Oh yes shop outside and lots of food nearby.

It's one of the noisier hotels. But the bathroom was clean and modern. Seems someone earlier used some self-tanner on the bed and the sheets were not really cleaned afterwards. Breakfast is very reliable.

In my opinion on four stars "does not pull": in a bathroom the ceiling asks for repair, the wall of a shower cubicle flows. But the "most" is the construction under the window-work with 6.45 am… Although the money paid is tolerable.

Really nice. Room is exactly like I expected. Polls are ok. The most important the bus stop is really close 100m.

I put a star because I can not put less! The view of the room speaks for itself.

Clean and new. Rooms only available after 14.00hrs so don't arrive too early. Had heard that the bathrooms weren't very good, cannot confirm as ours is very spacious, clean and I would think new. Service is good, bar is well stocked. Restaurant is also good.

Recently refurbished this hotel is very smart, central to the location and extremely good value for money. Top tip is to book directly with the hotel fir the best rate as the room rates are often inflated by tour operators.

Day 3 off my holiday lovely location welcoming staff room nice on the 2nd floor. Wall socket lose needs to be secure Breakfast nice, housekeeping very nice. Prompt on the cleaning of the rooms only downside is lact off directions around the hotel. For example gym located on the sixth floor. No directions or signs I had to ask a guest. He told me out the door pass the out door swimming pool. I'm yet to find it.

4 stars closer to 3! Basic Services, cockroach in the shower room and staff not the most enjoyable. However, the hotel is well located, especially near the bus terminal and not very far from the pier. Very nice panoramic terrace on the top floor.

We were from 25 to 28 January 2018, unfortunately a very bad experience compared to the previous year: 1) on 25 we decided to dine in the hotel at a fixed price and unfortunately in the minestrone I found a piece of hard plastic (luckily I noticed and I have not Ingested, otherwise it could have hurt me), they apologized not making me pay a glass of Coca Cola that we had taken as a drink;
2) The room 422 We were given was with only an Italian electrical outlet, but we were two and we had at least two phones, we asked for an adaptor and the woman at the front desk, they said they had finished them and we should have bought them ourselves, in the evening it changed L A the person at the front desk and the man very kindly made us have a free adaptor;
3) The data room was cold and the heating (officially autonomous) is not able to heat it properly;
4) on the 26th we called at 5:45 to book the sauna, I went down at 18:15 we noticed that it was still turned off and that the girl from the reception after taking the fee, the lights in front of us at 18:20, with the result that it was heated at 19:00, but when they turned it off because at 19:00 it closes. The question is how come the girl at the front desk took the money at 18:20 when she knew very well that the sauna would be heated in 30/45 minutes and then at 19:00 it would close everything? My complaints told me that the sauna would be heated in 10 minutes.

Clean hotel showers are beautiful… very very clean… No deposit required which is brilliant don’t need the stress of putting out more money when I have already paid like some other hotels in Malta… definitely would come back however I need a bigger pool I imagine summer it would be busy… Other then that had a lovely experience.

The rooms are quite attractively furnished, but in a miserable condition. We got a room which was very dirty. The carpet was badly sucked, the cupboards sticky by … The bathroom smelled extremely of chlorine and the tiles were lugubrious. Breakfast is British, made for many guests, loveless. The dishes were also partly not clean. For us, no reason to check in again … What a pity.

Great hotel, lots of choice to eat at breakfast time, got two swimming pools, the roof top one looked look lovely, but can see to be a bit small for busy time of the year. We just came back and it's too cold for swimming outside. Loved that car park just outside the hotel, always found a spot to park, lots of restaurants nearby to choose to eat. Coastline is just 10mins walk. Bedroom needs updating, double bed kept splitting in half and making impossible to sleep next to each other as it was too single beds pushed together. Shower room was getting flooded with water as it's designed a bit poorly, lighting in bedroom was terrible, no main ceiling light, only low energy 3 lights on the walls. Made sense why I kept seeing people reading books in the hotels reception area.

We had a great time, big room, spotless great breakfast and dinner. Excellent staff. Period stay end of October.

Very unpleasant staff at the restaurant this morning and bad times.

Very average hotel. Food was OK but nothing great. Facilities weren't the best. Reception staff were very unhelpful. I do have to take time here though to mention the bar staff, (Sofi and Vittorio in particular, as well as Beatrix, Karen, and Natalie) who were absolutely excellent. But, Biggest praise lies with housekeeping. Such a good job. I cannot remember the name of lady who kept our room, but she was amazing (room 414, October 2017). Big shout to Vqra too, for being both helpful, and a delight to talk to. Shame the staff are let down by a poorly kept hotel, and terrible reception staff.

We always stay at Hotel Santana and have found it and the staff very friendly and welcoming. Nothing is too much trouble. I would highly recommend it.

Normal food, but completely appalling living conditions, ranging from no room cleaning to Gljuchashhim air conditioning and always sunken ship bathroom. "Yes, and the maid at the last day somehow left us without one of the sheets. "

My experience at this hotel was awful I would not recommend it ever. I was from the 26-08-2017 until the day 30-08-2017
The hotel has a room that looks like a hotel of two-star, small, uncomfortable, furniture old and damaged and the most amazing thing, in the month of August cut off the air conditioning from 8:00 to 15:00! being unbearable to stay in the room by the heat. The front desk staff is unpleasant and do not solve your needs. In the page web of the hotel that the reception is at 14:00 hours and yet we were waiting half hour because our room was not cleaned. And a long etc that made our stay at this hotel an unpleasant experience.

The experience has been very negative: the reception staff, the management and service are very unpleasant. Do NOT seek to give solutions to their customers. In our case, our room was standard, they gave us a superior but we did pay a supplement on top of that wrong them. The "superior room" was very old and carpet extremely dirty and stained. The air conditioning would go off in the morning and in the afternoon, not what's going on (this in the middle of summer). I don't recommend it.

Da equal to the time that you lie down or your pace. You will wake up the heat because of 08.00 to 15.00 removal of the air conditioning in the rooms. Do not have curtains foscurit, so that you will awaken the light and the heat. The gym does not exist (is a lie). The quality shines by its absence. It is an expensive hotel for what it is. If you still decide to go to this hotel (would never) make sure that your room is new, because the old are movie horror.

For nothing corresponds to a 4*, you can spare a minimum of two. Staff unconcerned, cleaning big shame, cut off the air conditioning every morning in the rooms of 8 to 15.00 to save, in the middle of August. We were given a room cheaper than contracted for, and gives them equal claims. In general very expensive for being a hotel with a quality of a 2-star hotel in Spain. If you take the standard rooms, they are old, disgusting, carpet extremely dirty and with dust.

Anything recommended. Dirty and old-fashioned. Miy expensive for the features it has. Staff of reception unpleasant.

Amazing hotel right by a bus station to get around the island. Right by the sea too. Only issue is having live music every night and ruining the beautiful Zen garden.

Disliked it — 3 of 10 stars, 2 of 5 stars* Not so good service. We had room 121, and the lock doesn't work, and the staff doesn't believe us. The curtains are 'broken'. It would be 4 stars if the service was better … Outside it's very hot and inside very cold.

Amazing. Got a double get suite when booked a normal suite. Amazing and near to everything in Malta. Right in between two beaches to either side around 5-10 min walk each.

We have just got back from staying here. We went for a comfort room which was lovely and part of the new building, although not the best view from the balcony this wasn't a problem. Breakfast was fine a lot of choices, although I'm very fussy I still managed to eat plenty. Evening meals weren't great, and nothing really for my little boy, although staff did make him sausages or chicken nuggets but this was the only option and it's not something they advertise. So we did eat out a couple of nights. Yes roof top pool is cold, but you do get used to it once in the water, my 3 Year old loved it, downstairs pool was colder! Over all location is great as easy access to seafront, and local transport.

Hotel not up to the 4 stars listed, definitely renovated entrance as probably even some rooms will be. Ditto for the Nice garden with bar. For the rest the rooms too small, with the heat almost asphyxiating ti, furnishings a bit ' old, but for the rest staff welcoming and helpful.

Visited this hotel for a chill out break with my friend. For what we paid we could not beat it. Stayed on a B&B basis and couldn't fault the breakfast — something for everyone. The staff are very helpful & friendly — they even made us a coffee when we arrived early hours of the morning. Karen in the bar is absolutely lovely. The location is great. The roof top pool is good and plenty of sun beds. Yes there are building works, as some previous reviewers have mentioned, around the hotel but nothing major and certainly nothing worth moaning about. Maybe some areas of the hotel are due for refurb, but again nothing to moan about! On the whole a great value for money hotel.

Friendly staff, nice rooms, nice pool and sundeck on the roof. Good breakfast, although they could have varied it a bit more. The only stupid thigh I can think of is the elevators. The programming engineer must have smoked something bad on the day of instalment. No matter what button you push to call for the elevator, you NEVER knew if your journey went up or down. The most annoying thing ever.

I enjoyed it very much. Food was excellent (except for the plain yoghurt. Tasted horrible. Maybe it was expired. ). Service was also excellent. Only downside is that even if you pay for Wi-Fi you can't stay connected for longer than 2 minutes and while you are connected, the internt is extremely slow. Must improve.

You get what you paid for.

I have stayed there several times. Almost all of last winter and many weeks in previous winters. The hotel, in my mind, has it's good and bad sides. Good sides: the staff and personnel are very co-operative and try to make things okay. The other side: the hotel is a little bit old fashioned, but they are trying to renew the hotel. In a big picture: nice place, suitable prices, nice staff, that's quite a lot, don't you think, too. Ps. Going back there tomorrow, from Finland, for the winter-time. We are staying here now as I write this 4/10 days. This hotel is only a 2 star in our eyes as everything you would expect from a 4 star is an extra, Wi-Fi, sauna, movies, Our room is nice but we paid for the superior upgrade to get a kettle and fridge with wide screen tv. We paid for B&B as we like to go out too, the biggest problem for me is how rude a lot of the other guests are. The only way to describe breakfast is a feeding frenzy. I asked a couple of the staff if it was just me, but they also agreed that so many of the guests are very rude, WHY? This hotel could be a 4 star if they included the basic of things like the Wi-Fi, its free next door in central perk cafe so don't pay for it here. They do a flexi dinner ticket for the evening buffet for €9.95 a night each if you buy 4 dinners in advance. The food is quite good both in the morning and evenings so don't waste money eating out all the time. They do however need to get a grip on the cups and glasses at breakfast as they are always running out every 10 minutes every morning, very irritating.

Not bad. Hotel 4 star am worth a 3 stars in France. Pool on the roof top well. Sauna, pool and jacuzzi at the n-1 and body care and gym ee. On the other hand, the food is not great but full ee good restaurant next door. And located 2 minutes from the bus terminal, which allows to move all over the island.

Hotel is well located. Furniture and hygiene in the room is open to improvements. Hygiene environment swimming pool could be better. Room air conditioning is centrally regulated and switched off / the poor air conditioning in the room was and too warm at night. Adversely affected do not improve themselves and additional Manitenance of location air conditioning.
