On Saturday we came to the Grill at the Waterfront hotel and we were amazed by the food and service! Both John and Frederick really excelled in the service and the views are super!
will be back for sure.

Nice big rooms, very clean, breakfast was varied and diverse, staff very friendly. We did not use the indoor pool but the seawater pool outside can be easily reached by shuttle or bus.

Spent 2 nights at the Waterfront Hotel in Sliema and we must say we were impressed with the cleanliness of the rooms, the impeccable service from the staff and the delicious food! All the necessary covid19 precautions are also being implemented. Keep it up and well done.

Lovely atmosphere, very clean and very sociable staff. The food was delicious. A big thank you goes to Dorianne and Marvic at the reception area, and also to Helen (housekeeper) for the beautiful decorations and cleanliness. The stay was super great. Thanks again to all.

Stunning views from the Restaurant where an abundance if breakfast snd fabulous dinner service is provided. The catering staff are always professional (Masks worn by all).
Prices are cheaper than you would think for a 4* however the quality and professionalism is still there.

Very central location, I had a Lovely time with my family, enjoyed tea, the service was exceptional, stuff was very attentive and polite. The treats that accompanied tea was amazing. Nice selections of sweet and savoury. I would definitely recommend and will most certainly be back.

Lovely, helpful staff. Although you can hear traffic whilst on the balcony, once the door is closed you can’t hear a thing. Slept brilliant. Bathroom is lovely with a beautiful shower and always hot water. I’d definitely recommend this hotel and it’s in a great location.

Problems with beds, breakfast and elevators We booked a triple room — room for three people. Got a very small double room with an extra bed crammed next to the double bed. The extra bed was rank and unsteady. Not bedded and missing real pillows on arrival. Was hard to sleep in that bed. Although we had paid for three people, the hotel room was only equipped for two people, two coffee mugs, two glasses, two balcony chairs, etcetera. The curtains had come loose from the roof bracket so the sun was shining early in the morning. And yes, we told the reception about this. But was not fixed. Very small balcony that could not accommodate more than two people. Although we emailed the hotel in advance and requested room with good balcony. The hotel elevators are a nightmare. Getting a lift from floor 3 to the entrance floor can take 10 minutes, as the lift goes up and down and stops on all floors where other hotel guests have pressed the elevator button. The stairwell is locked so you can't go down or up the stairs. That is bad! Breakfast. There are more hotel guests than there are tables and seating. During high season and weekend there is a queue and wait until you get somewhere to have breakfast. The coffee in the vending machines is really bad. Hot water with coffee syrup. Same with the orange juice dispenser. You get more water than orange. Reception and bar on the entrance floor. The bar refuses credit cards if you order just coffee.

Emailed in August regarding gone-off milk that was served to us at the hotel and caused sickness. They said they were looking into it and would be in touch. Have sent numerous messages since and not heard back. Ridiculous. We and the rest of our family visit Malta regularly as our family are from here and have always used The Waterfront but never will again and will advise others not to either. As soon as you run into a problem they are quick to avoid dealing with it.

The room is good but the car pet is dirty and Lot of cigaret burns. The cleaness was ok could be netter. The room price is to high for what you get. And the Best I paid 130 € for one nicht and had to pay 3 € for a bottle of water.

The Waterfront Hotel is a nice hotel. Small mistakes are the drain of the shower, you need extra towels. So that not everything runs into the room. The staff is always responsive and resolves all concerns. Food is okay. English breakfast. Rooms with sea views have a beautiful view, also on Valetta. The rooms are not accessible for the disabled. The one elevator in our part of the rooms worked magnificently, also the only way to get up and down. The lobby is great. There you can cool down and order something to drink. You need from the hotel well to the bus stop or can walk up to the ferries.

Lovely hotel with gorgeous balcony views of the harbor's North side. We received service that was second to none. The room was beautiful and spacious. The staff made sure we were set with an early morning taxi ride to the airport. Highly recommend.

I spent a few nights here in one of their Superior Seaview rooms. I did not use their pool, bar, or room facilities so I will not be commenting on those. The room was delightful. The bathroom had a walk-in shower (no bath) with the water temperature and pressure comfortable. The view from the room was beautiful, with a lovely view of the harbour and Valetta. The room could have more amenities honestly, for a superior room, the fridge was almost warm, there was no decaf coffee and there was a cheeky €3.00 bottle of mineral water which I didn't appreciate. The air con worked well, and wasn't too loud. Due to the room not stocking any decaff, I asked the reception whether or not they had any, which a lovely receptionist was happy to help with; filling a coffee cup with decaff coffee grounds from I assumed to be the staff's own supply. Breakfast was a let down, a buffet with a bit of everything, but unfortunately, it mastered none of it. TL;DR Staff were lovely and helpful, room was amazing (but don't expect any luxury goodies), but the breakfast I would give a miss.

Went to Malta for the weekend! Friendly hotel staff, great location and affordable. Only downside is the indoor pool, if it was outside on the roof then 5 stars!

I had booked a twin room, instead they only had double beds…
They gave us a room (paid dearly)
Next to us were brickworkers, so wake up at 6.30 and always closed windows.
On the day of our departure we asked to be woken at 5… Luckily we didn't trust you! The person at the front desk justified saying that he had not had any info from the previous colleague.
Hotel to forget, not recommended.
They asked us to pay on Arrival… Maybe that's why they treated us so badly

Hotel that we would classify between 3 and 4 stars. Very friendly staff, average room maintenance, good breakfast without more. Good location to take the ferry to Valletta. Unfortunately between the port and the housing side there is a 4-gang road, hence dense traffic.

Great Hotel, very good staff, no breakfast, spacious and clean rooms but stained sheets in more point.

Nice location and a great view over the Creek. Rooms are very good. Breakfast is ok but the main meals are a average at best.

Terrible place. Marvic, the main receptionist, is a rude tyrant. Be very careful please. Noisy rooms, bars downstairs and all over the street. Impossible to sleep. You book the most expensive rooms and you get the worst… Receptionists don't help you at all. Go to nearby hotels…. Worst experience ever!

Great and central location, friendly staff, sea view on the 6th floor ideal! Food Excellent.

From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome. All staff were helpful, nothing was to much trouble. The rooms were spacious with tea and coffee making facilities. The pool and solarium were lovely too. Meals were of a high quality. I was also assured by the chef that my allergy was fine and he would cook me something different if needed. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Malta.

Big rooms with lovely views and good location. It's renovated but it's sloppy done. Breakfast ok if you like English breakfast, we didn't like it. AC was faulty and made a lot of noise, TV kept disconnecting, dusty. Some of the staff were absolutely fantastic, like the older man that showed us to our room! While some of the other staff were just awkward and acted like they didn't want to be there. It gets the job done, nothing special. Will probably not stay here again.

The Waterfront Hotel has been renovated and it shows. Rooms are spacious, clean and very modern. Staff are friendly, hotel breakfast was nice and the bar inside the hotel is cheap. Highly recommend and would stay again.

Very comfortable Hotel right in front of the sea. From the sea view rooms you can enjoy a spectacular view of day and night. A good 4 star.

Very nice stay, sea view from 7th floor was great, friendly staff, good breakfast.

We booked a room upgrade so we didn't have to stare at a wall but got sea view. So far so good, but we got a phone call at midnight, that we had to leave the room again, one would have been wasted. We had already paid for the upgrade. We then got a room which was again a downgrade (lateral view of a construction site). Although we had paid the upgrade. That's a pity.

Just arrive so no in depth review. Check in was swift and the staff were very pleasant. Room is lovely and had a quick visit to the pool area which looked very nice. Looking forward to spending the next week here.

Good location A boat taxi (1, €5) allowing access to Valletta in 5 minutes located in front of the hotel.

My husband and I held our wedding ceremony and dinner here on the 6th January, 2018. Preparations started early with Ms Marion Scicluna who is a lovely, professional and accomodating person. Every wish was granted, every detail looked into and handled with the utmost care. No email was left unanswered. Every request granted, no wish was too much. On the day, Nadya prepared everything with the utmost passion and professionalism for her job. Truly, no praise is high enough for this establishment. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We plan to have dinner here on every anniversary, birthday, celebration, etc.

Called here several times for coffee and cake, great bar snacks and cocktails. Lovely staff.

Fantastic hotel with all the comforts. The breakfast is very good There is the pool on the 10 floor heated usable everyday. We took the sea view room. Very nice. Clean and with staff prepared and polite. Very competitive prices. 2 nights with breakfast 135 Euro x 2 persons.

I stayed in this hotel after it's refurbishment, it's nice and modern now, the bathroom was great. I had a partial sea view and balcony. The breakfast had a nice selection. Lifts were abit too slow for my liking especially during breakfast.

Hotel under renovation. A lot of dust. Noisy piping. Room 607 renovated with very nice view and spacious. Buffet breakfast varied and overall good.

Visited for a Sunday lunch and can't say but a warm ambience, nice staff, delicious food with great selection. Keep it up.

Was there for a presentation and a buffet lunch. Buffet was abundant and good, the exception being the roast beef sliced with the grain resulting in a tougher cut than the meat deserved. Pleasant staff. Good value for money.

Book Room Sea View (must), friendly staff, repetitive breakfast but for a few days OK, out surrounded by restaurants great location, close to ferries to buses, rooms to be a Spartan 4 star, last day lacked water on my floor (lasted max One hour in the morning at 08, can happen) the slow lifts (do not arrive open with a tedious delay) room with safe, good restaurant, great New Year's Eve dinner; For excursions, visits etc help you. All in all price quality OK. All right.

The Location is very nice An ideal solution for those who want to fully enjoy the Movida Maltese.

My fiancé and I stayed here over the Christmas holiday. The hotel is great. They offered a Christmas lunch for guests which had great food and free flowing wine! The employees at the hotel are all so friendly and helpful. The hotel even invited all guests to “Christmas drinks” on the 28th of December which again came with free flowing wine and tons of small appetizers. It was a generous touch and topped off an amazing stay! The breakfast (served 7-10 daily) included in the rate is also very delicious and has a decent variety! The rooms are spacious and we had a nice view from our “side sea view” room on the 6th floor! Additionally magnificent views of Valletta are just a couple hundred meters away from the hotel!

Modern and new Hotel facing the harbor in a posh and commercial area. The rooms are beautiful but the quality of the finishes of the building leaves to be desired.

Very smart hotel in a great location. Ferries, cruises and open top buses are all available within a few minutes' walk. There was some ongoing construction work during our stay but it didn't adversely affect our experience. The breakfast is buffet style with a reasonable selection and evening meals are carvery style. Vegetarian options available.

We are in Malta several times a year because we just love the country and the way of life… that's why we've tried several hotels, but we keep getting stuck in the waterfront hotel. Why is it easy to explain… the rooms are tastefully decorated and clean, that staff simply nice, the breakfast also for German guests delicious and last but not least fits the price. Clearly at night traffic is on ""the main street of malta but you know this before, some restaurants and pubs are within walking distance, which is a good thing for the hotel … but the windows are super insulated, you hardly get anything with it. Always happy to come back and look forward to the next time.

We had a room to the courtyard — very cozy, generous, quiet and stylishly furnished! Again at any time.

Everything awful… especially staff (be careful with receptionist Marvic — aggressive and rude). Horrible staff, especially the receptionist Marvic. Rude, they don't help you at all. They treat you badly for buying in Booking. They invite you to leave all the time and they don't care if you haven't been given the room you bought. There's a lot of noise, it's unbearable from plant 2 to 7. You get rooms on foot from a street where the traffic is continuous and next to the restaurant with a frightening noise or next to areas with works. Sleeping is very difficult. In the restaurant pretend to charge you more… All very unpleasant unfortunately. Amazing what you find in the hallways until you get to the room.

This hotel is being restored. For example, pool and gym are not usable. But there are tickets for another hotel in which you can use this. This is within walking distance.
The staff is very friendly and quick. Despite the work there is no nuisance with noise. Due to the apparent age of the hotel, the renovation is the right way.
I can only say for dinner. Top! The coffee (from a fully automatic machine) was a bit sour… but that's a matter of taste.

Conclusion: not acceptable for this price and not recommended. The only real plus is the friendly and good staff, but unfortunately I don't do a holiday.

This was my fifth visit in last two years, still not finished, however, lovely cool reception area, was on seventh floor, only one lift, bedroom quite cosy, lovely bathroom with walk in wet room shower, ideal for our age group, very low toilet, bed too low, also a hard mattress, didn't sleep well at night. Restaurant food good, well looked after by charming waitress's, would go back if higher and softer beds.

Great Hotel with very friendly staff. Would have given 5* but currently no pool. One available 15 mins walk away and is very inconvienient.

Simply a sensational experience. Perfectly located alongside the bay (as the name suggests). Close to all the pubs, bars, restaurants, ferries, tour buses and other transport. My room was stunning. Lovely massive bed with bay view, luxurious bathroom and great shower head/water pressure! Staff were so accommodating and couldn't do more to meet my needs! Not to mention, the young male bar / reception staff on the night shifts are very easy on the eye! Apart from the amazing cocktails they prepare, simply sitting in the foyer to enjoy the view is reason enough to book your next Sliema, Malta trip at the Waterfront Hotel.

Very friendly staff and good services when asked for. The place is still under renovation why my grade is lower then it perhaps would have been otherwise. During our stay the elevators where being worked on — which made the one running very slow… The pool was closed (should open later this year), which was something I truly missed. But they got you free entrance and shuttle to another poolarea by the seafront if you asked in the reception. We were upgraded to a room with seaview which was amazing. Our room needed some work (mostly on the door), good beds. Breakfast was average, not bad but nothing spectacular. Close to public transfers and other services such as boat-toures. If you want to go to a nice beach and go by bus it's about a 60 minutes ride. Many restaurants nearby, different status on these. Close to the Valetta ferry. In general a good hotel, I think it will be nice when the renovation is done.

Currently the hotel is under renovation. This means that there are noises of drilling and knocking from 7 am. They replace lifts and you wait minutes for the one that works. They are building additional floors on the top of existing ones and removed the pool. If you want to swim you have to get to Fortina hotel. If you want to be taken there by hotel's transport you have to make an appointment. It's only possible to 4 pm and the last one is only one way with no return. The breakfast is poor and boring since there is always the same choice. Anyway rooms are after renovation and very comfortable. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

Unfortunately, the bathroom muffled and the car was parked (in the hotel basement garage). It is actually a year and a half stars.

The Seaview is amazing and we loved however is not a hotel that's worth 4 stars!
The fridge in the room never worked despite all requests! And the air conditioning was far from effective. No planned screens we had to sleep with the door of the large terrace because of air conditioning "out of order". Many mosquito bites! Despite a reservation made 17/112015 for the week of 20 to 28 may, we had not requested and paid room when we arrived! Has stayed us the 1st night at the back where it used to work! As compensation the hotel offered us lunch buffet in the evening which was infected! We were very disappointed. We also waited a whole day sheets in the bathroom despite our repeated requests. Apart from the view this hotel is not recommended.

We used this hotel in November 2016. The hotel was full due to Queen Elizabeth's visit. We thought this was a four star hotel, it was not. The shower was attached to the bath taps and the heat could not be regulated. The service at breakfast was akin to being in a factory canteen because the plates and cutlery were collected in a wheeled metal container and the member of staff made so much noise you couldn't hear yourself speak. We only ate breakfast here but it was the same every day for a week and often the food ran out leaving little choice. Not to be recommended.

We would not hesitate to return to the The Waterfront Hotel, unless of course, the hotel plans to refurbish in a stylish and contemporary, minimalist décor, a trend we are noticing in other "refurbished" hotels. At check-out, reception informed us that the hotel will close for refurbishment (last rumored for November 2016) and reopen in 2017 (date undisclosed). So to write a review which points out the expected time-worn deficiencies in a mature hotel is a moot point. We were impressed with the cozy room furnishings. The room equipment has weathered the test of time. They are durable, attractive and well constructed and in near new condition. Our room was comfortable and well appointed; spacious and airy, plenty of storage for clothes and accessories. There was a high-quality kettle for tea and coffee, two large dressing mirrors, retractable clothes-line in the tub, sitting stools in the bathroom and at the dressing table. A shaded floor and table lamp, wall-lighting over the picture, and a coffee table with two cushioned chairs gave the room a cozy ambiance. Additionally, there is a mini bar, free in-room-safe and free WI-FI, hair dryer, AC, and free parking for those who dare to drive. Missing was an in-room ironing board and cosmetic mirror. We were very comfortable and every effort as made if we weren't.

Hotel fine, staff superb, food very disapointing.

I checked in today. I booked a sea view & double bed in room but they offered bad view (not sea view) & twin bed room without any explain. I disappointed their services.

The hotel room is OK, Breakfast is not the goods, the evening food is OK.

Breakkie was poor. But the rooftop pool was very nice.

The Hotel is good but a bit heruntergekimmen. The Breakfast is very good. The rooms are noisy and you can hear in the whole night, cars honking and tires creaking.

The hotel room has a good location, unfortunately the standard of this 4-star hotel with other 4-star — compare houses in other countries. The rooms are very comfortable, the bathroom reminds me of a youth hostel. However, the staff are very friendly. For me, this hotel deserved no more than 2-3 star.

It nice and will get 5 stars if thay get the Wi-Fi working in my room.

The hotel is bit. Room, service, prices, location, restaurants, bar. Have tried several hotels in Sliema. The waterfront was the best so far. Happy to be back.

Great stay in this fab location.

A hotel with a very good location for visits to Valletta and its surrounding. The breakfast was the poorest I ever have received on a 4 stars hotel. Also the bathrooms was as a standard for a 2 stars hotel. The staff was friendly but not smiling. The roof pool on the 8th floor was super and with a beautiful view. If you want quietness this hotel should not be your choice, since there are heavy trafic noise 24-12.

I have had several holidays at the waterfront and everyone was fantastic, the staff are friendly, helpful and attentive but not to the point of being a pain, the roof pool has fantastic views across to Valletta. The hotel was very clean the food was very good, and the bbq nights on roof amazing, I would recommend this hotel to anyone the staff are also great with children, as a I went several times as my daughter was growing up the staff treated her and still do as one of their own, it is also good to see how staff have progressed up the ladder over the years.

Bagni vecchi, surly staff and rude, bad cooking.

My wife and I stayed at the hotel waterfront in Gzira, Sliema, Malta, but we don't go back. This is what we found in our room: broken bathroom sink, bathroom, dirty tiles round toilet area, black mold on wall tiling, rotten bathroom door by water damage, lined with brightly stained and torn bed blanket, no tea or coffee making facilities, very old and bad TV. Amazingly Thomson's this hotel as 4 star rated. I always use wouln Thomson's.

Waterfront staff are very friendly and helpful, nothing seems to be a problem. Just love the pool on the roof and the views. Graz offers everything for people like us who want a beach holiday. I will be back again.

Hotel loved our stay at the waterfront super service, very clean, we had room 713 overlooking the sea and the veiw was great. Food very good, but we were there ten days, so change a little boring completely after about a week, but otherwise very tasty. Pool was cold when we went in May and had just opened, but the weather was great, but pool Hadent had time to warm up, so nobody was used, which was a shame. Perfect hotel for rest and would go back! No hotel for small children as entertainment for children, which are more suitable for middle age and older people, who pushed but not staff and hotel Lovey.

1st class hotel, excellent staff, spotlessly clean and excellent views from the rooms with balcony. If some of the employees was asked, nothing too much trouble. Ideally located, plenty of variety for restaurants and all reasonably priced. Am definitely back to visit.

The Waterfront Hotel in Sliema is fantastic. Great place, in every respect perfect. Next visit planning already.
