Everything is perfect with the exception of Wi-Fi. It’s not stable. Have to keep reconnect. The location, view, service and comfort is excellent.

I don't understand… I got a baby in room. Ask for 5 mineral water, but give me 3. Then I ask for another 3, they give me 2 … other wise, everything is good. Good environment, very good breakfast!

Probably a 4 star hotel. Great location — walking distance to all the main amenities. Hotel is kinda mediterrean setup n kept well with spacios room n balcony. Loved their chill bay surrounded with water. However, the rooms are overpriced but perhaps due to its location. But the breakfast was aweful. But we would probably stay back due to the pribacy n location mostly.

I have been to the buffet Mai Ramadan. It is considered one of the most dissappointing buffet ever.
At 7.30pm almost all maindish finished. They did not bother to refill. We kept on asking when are they going to refill the sate as it was one of the signature during Ramadan. Around 8.00pm only left very few desert.
Does not worth the price. I put so much hope on the dinner as I was treating my staff Iftar and hope the best for them. But this was really dissappointing.

Grateful for the cold peppermint scented towels, complimentary cold desserts and ondeh-ondeh upon our arrival, drinks and watermelons served for 2 days while we were at the pool, great service at the restaurant during our breakfast for all 3 days, breakfast was impressive, friendly and helpful staff, clean rooms, great river scenery from the rooms, easy access for seafood dinner and to the shopping centres, good quality and nice smelling toiletries, bath salts provided, generous with the number of pillows and the safe carpark. I love staying at your hotel. The staff went extra mile and took initiatives to make the guests happy. It was a nice gesture that was much appreciated by all of us. To conclude, it was a perfect stay and we will definitely recommend your hotel to others. We will return back to Casa Del Rio Melaka if there is an opportunity.

Heart warmth feeling at check in. Hardworking staff to make us feel like home. The housekeeping came twice a day. Our room always look tidy every time we came back from outside. Very thoughtful to light up the candle at the balcony and the weather forecast. I would like to give a big Thanks to Danniel who has the warmest smile and assistance since the time we check in! It was a pleasant stay and highly recommended!

Service with a personalized touch. Warm, hospitable and helpful staff, from check-in, to pool staff. Makes guests feels special and appreciated. Lovely experience. AND because the hotel partners with Melaka River Cruise, it is so easy to get tickets at the front office and embark from the onto boat from the hotel. Full Star for Casa Del Rio Staff The first experience at Casa Del Rio for our wedding anniversary was a wonderful experience, the friendly staff welcomed us with gentleness and courtesy, A compliments all the staff from the registration counter to the technicians especially Mr. Ali who welcomed us.

The River Grill's food and service really needs to be improved. First of all, they took an hour to cook a small piece of salmon which is definitely not worth the price of RM55 as it was overcooked and there was too little sauce. The skin wasn't cracling and the fish was dry. Their tequilla sunrise was too light and there was no taste of tequilla. The waitress did not even ask before clearing our plates. I would not recommend anyone to this restaurant.

The experience was wonderful the moment we stepped in to check in, with the wonderful welcome drink. We really loved the small but thoughtful details, like the news articles in the gents being put up above the urinals and the windscreen and windows washing before we check out. Before we checked out, the manager offered us another welcome drink when we asked where we asked what it was and where we could purchase more of the sorbet. Nobody has ever done that before! Well, its a well-known 5-star hotel in Malacca that everyone wants to stay but a two-day experience in the so-called casa was just average. While others managed to check in at 2pm, my room was only ready nearly 3.30p. M. Which is very unacceptable kind of service for such established hotel. The hotel room is good and shower room is generous, but the food (lunch and breakfast) is so so. The plain water offered on the table tastes weird. Menu for main course are quite limited, where beefs are used for couple of dishes which are fine for me but not for my fellow Hindu friends. Should have replaced some with lamb. The staffs are friendly and always say "Hi sir" with good smiles. Overall, a decent hotel with more improvement needed.

We originally booked three nights and ended up extending for a fourth, our experience was just that amazing. The staff is incredibly attentive and kind, but not overwhelming, the rooms are beautiful and have heritage appeal, and the location is proximate to everything in Malacca. The rooftop infinity pool is really nice, with great furniture and cabanas, and you can order, or bring up your own drinks and food. Very relaxed vibe, not stuffy or fussy. We were treated like kings, and will certainly recommend and return. Thank you to all the staff— especially Ian, Zul, and Nana.

We were a couple on holiday trip stayed in Deluxe River View room. Our first time stay in Casa Del Rio. Excellent Service Staff with staff so helpful, polite and energetic. Beautiful hotel with breath taking scenery. Location was perfect and the shuttle service provided is greatly appreciated. Love the clean, spacious and stylishly decorated room with a private balcony overlooking the idyllic Melaka River. Had problem with the water spray cleaning device toilet bidet seat attachment. Preferred the hand spray instead. Perhaps let guess have their choice. Breakfast provided not that great for a 5-Star Hotel as we expected better. Not much of choice and the taste we would say it's mediocre. Had a room service and the chicken my wife had was bloodied inside. Most probably it's not properly defrosted and the prawns were big but not that fresh… not much choice for room service and order stops at 2300 hrs. Overall: The food wont stop us from coming back again. We'll be back for sure for the excellent & polite service staff, breath taking view & nicely decorated room.

Beautiful hotel with efficient and hardworking staff. From the moment we arrived we felt their warmth. All the sraff served us with a smile. 5 star for the location, cleanliness and service. The only thing lacking was the food quality. We had alarte dinner and it was disappointing. We had a satay starter and the nasi impit we had was hard and still cold in the inside. The kuah satay was like runny like it had been heated with water. For the price we paid we should get better quality food. Overall we had a wonderful time in the hotel as the view from the balcony is lovely.

Overall I would say this place is overrated and there are many other nice hotels in malacca which are probably a bang for your buck with a better experience. (Hope this detailed review will help potential guests when contemplating to book this place ~) Cons:
— Severe lack of communication and invasion of privacy: my partner and I got intruded twice when We checked in to our room early. 1. A staff rang my door bell stating it was room service but I got confused as I didn’t order any?
Nevertheless I rushed to get the door and to my horror he opened it before I could! (What a major turn off). Luckily I managed to close it in time and refused his room service. Later I understood from another staff that he was delivering ondeh ondeh which was part of the welcome treat. (Ugh ok) 2. It was probably about 3pm? I’m guessing the official check in time started and my door bell rang once again. I was near the door this time as I was preparing to leave the room. Well … there stood one surprised looking staff and 2 other hotel guests. The staff was so embarrassed/awkward she apologized. (Ok so I clarified with other staff and again they said they assigned the wrong room number or something. Oh my goodness, can’t believe this) — Poor Wi-Fi signals: I had to stand at a particular spot and it happened to be facing the wall to get better connection. Needless to say I gave up and used my data. Haha!

Nice and luxury hotel. Staffs are friendly and helpful. Huge bathtub which can fit 3 persons. Breakfast are nice but less variety. Swimming pool area is nice but too bad the water not very clean. But overall is a nice staying. Hopefully hotel will do promotion again more frequently, then we can go there more frequent.

First-class European style, especially nestled in the arms of the Malacca River, elegant, beauty seductive. Especially like its coffee bar, is my frequent visit to the place, in the music to enjoy the time.

Room and bathroom are clean and spacious. It's located within walking distance to Jonker street. Room service was great, you could even choose the type of pillow you wanted. There's also an infinity pool at the top.

My second stay at CDR and the service and experience still shines. The bed is still as comfortable, with clean, good quality sheets. The rooms are just showing their age but it does not get in the way of the experience. Breakfast spread is very good but the quality of food seems to have slid a little since my last stay. The thing that marred the experience is the large number of crows at the pool and restaurant. It's more of a town council problem than the hotel's but it certainly is cause for concern especially when you see crows bringing scraps of unidentified meat (which I assume are from rats) to devour at the poolside. Perhaps the management can talk to the town council about culling the large number of crows. Other than that, I have always recommended and will continue to recommend Casa Del Rio as THE hotel for the true Melaka experience.

Spent an evening for hi tea. The menu was okay, nothing fancy. The overall restaurant has a classic look to it, with wooden furniture. The food was okay, menu was good for a hi tea. Overall the price was quite cheap, with 50% discount for senior citizen. Parking is provided at the lower ground level, but you still have to pay for RM7, which is quite expansive. Other parking options is outside of the hotel, but you might have to check with local law enforcement whether you can park on the side of the road.

Service is GREAT! Staff is young and eager to please. Rooms are nicely equipped and good size. The outside noise can be heard in room at all hours so the noise insulation isn't the best but otherwise the hotel is amazing. The pool is a vanishing edge but no hot tub. With the heat and humidity, it may not be justifiable.

Reception on arrival was excellent… we felt so welcome. Room was big and clean and the facilities excellent. Only issue I had was with the Wi-Fi. I was not allowed to log on with more than 2 devices. Even after calling the reception who promised to rectify the matter, the issue was not resolved. Apart from the Wi-Fi, my stay was excellent.

Hotel is quite good and spacious. I love the view from the hotel. The only thing I didn't like it was the TV signal quality. Ofcourse we are here to visit places but the review is for the hotel and everything count on giving the review.

We like the hotel when first opened. And rates are good plus rooms are still new. But rooms are not well maintain and also service is not as good as before. Furthermore, we like the pub but for our last two visits, the bar has closed for more than 6 months already. Location is still good but overall hotel run down and poor service.

We were very well received for the check in, a lot of delicate attentions throughout our stay in this beautiful and poetic hotel. The room was very large and very comfortable. The hotel is beautifully placed to be able to visit on foot many of Malacca's attractions.

The rooms are great. Buffet breakfast was a disappointment. Hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. Room service is excellent. The only problem was we could hear the morning prayers every morning before 6am. That wake us up really early.

It was a good stay overall. Staff were warm and helpful, and the hotel itself has character. The room was also splendid. However, I wanted to feedback my disappointment with the temperature of the water in the bathroom. While the bathtub was lovely, I was not able to use it because the water was not warm enough. This was especially the case at night, when the water was barely even lukewarm, and I would have most certainly caught a cold if I had used the bathtub. Imagine our disappointment at having such a nice tub, but being unable to use it. Looking through the reviews on TripAdvisor, it seems like this is a recurring issue that other customers face as well.

A perfectly located hotel with very good facilities and perfect service. The room was beautiful and also the other facilities such as spa, gym and pool were very nice. The staff rate per guest is very high, so someone always makes for one. A dream that will hardly come true in Germany. Only the bar and restaurant could be used to make much more, especially on the Malacca River. Here more advertising and more service to hotel guests and beyond and it could go very well. In short, always like!

1. Very bad food. The morning buffet was decent at best and the river grill is even worse. I ordered the seabass and it was well overcooked. Grilled veges were overseaoned.

Visitors will experience a truly 5 star service here. The hotel provide room service even at night. Nice atmosphere and this hotel surrounded by wide variety of restaurant. Walking distance to Melaka most popular tourist attraction. Parking are provided at basement and free for hotel visitor. Roof top swimming pool provide magnificent view.

The breakfast was awesome. The rooms were spacious. However, some basic things not working made the stay less than easy. We were traveling with an infant and the fridge didn't work, for example. However, the staff was very accommodating and let us use the staff fridge to store breast milk.

3rd time I am staying there with the family and it never disappoints. Friendly staff who greet you with smiles every time, every where. Thank you for the wonderful reception!

We went to the River side grill for birthday celebration. Seriously it ruined our day. I have never tasted food this bad in Melaka. The food sucks and service staffs are terrible. We paid a good rm84 per pax for the buffet and frankly we would never come back again. Not even if the meal is free! For those who are considering having romantic dinner here, please don't. You can get much better food in Melaka. Here are a few among many the disappointments:
1. The choices of grilled meat or seafood are super limited. No prawn, fish, crab or squid. All you can find is some pathetic lamb, beef steak and satay that my knife couldn't even cut through. They tasted like rubber.
2. For a price of 84, you are only served with plain water, instant teh tarik and Nescafé. Not even juice or soft drink served. Common…
3. The food served are not fresh. The crab served at buffet corner smell and tasted as they are rotten.
4. The desserts are bad. Super sweat that my mon had to wash them down with plenty of water.
5. Again limited choices of food and they are not replenished timely. Seriously they taste terrible. It s so horrible tat I feel like I'm torturing myself.
6. The staffs are not very attentive. They don't come to refill your glass. The buffet counter is constantly out of plates.
7. The place is not clean. We saw flies landed on the food.

Such a lovely place! Impeccable room-large and comfortable, beautiful bathroom, friendly helpful staff, GREAT location. My little niggle is that they didn't have vegetarian — vegan options on the lunch-dinner menu. But the breakfast buffet was sumptuous with several choices. All the cafes in the old town area were close at hand. We walked down the riverside many times. Thanks Casa del Rio!

We enjoyed our two nights at Casa del Rio. Fantastic location, right at the hear of Melaka, with walking access to all of the main attractions. The hotel has all the comforts you might need but it is not pretentious. It looks after the small details and keeps a friendly and open communication with the customers, trying to make you feel at home. The pool is great and the service is friendly and helpful.

Excellent service and cleanliness of the room and premises. Beautiful hotel. Buffet breakfast can be improved in terms of variety and quality. There was also a fly in the restaurant where breakfast was served. Also, room service and bars close at 11pm. 24 hour room service is expected for 5 star hotel.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, from the ginger/lime sorbet on arrival to a lovely gesture when we left. Our room was spotless, serviced every day to a very high standard. Pool area was lovely to relax in and the library a perfect quiet area to rest.

We arrived on 8 August night at 830pm. And, my family was ushered to the Cabana while I parked my car. The whole check-in process seated in the Cabana and served with complimentary sweet ice in small cups and wet hand towels was a sweet and memorable experience for us as a whole family. Do keep up with such a warmth reception.

This place is great all around. Great location, great and friendly staffs, beautiful buildings, cozy rooms, awesome live bands. The only thing you might have a problem is getting a reservation especially during peak seasons.

Staffs are all very helpful and friendly. Always warm and greet with a smile. Really feel welcomed & we all enjoyed the 3 nites stay. Housekeeper didn't replenish our toothbrushes on the first & second day and we had to call in and ask for it. When it is possible to re-use the toothbrush, we too need the toothpaste; and also, housekeeper seemed to miss out replenishing one of our tissue boxes too. But overall, the housekeeper was doing a great job making the room clean and tidy. Varieties of breakfast buffet seemed limited though. All in all, I'll highly recommend this hotel to any one who is visiting Melaka, given it's location, services and awesome river view (if you take a room with a view).

My family and I definitely had a wonderful time in staying in your lovely hotel and we definitely would like to come back again in the near future. The best moment when we arrived during the check-in, we were surprised with the welcome refreshment. Very good idea of checking in the hotel guest. Also the room itself was excellent, very spacious in all the areas and very clean and well kept facilities in the room. Most pleasantly surprise was the warm service by all the staff in the hotel. To family and I, everything seems to be almost perfect if not perfect except for the price for the room. If only the management would consider nice and good reasonable package deal on a regular basis, we definitely would like to come again. Once again thank you very much.

If you want the charm of a beautiful Hotel in one divine UNESCO Heritage town then Casa Del Rio delivered it all. From the moment you enter this hotel, staff are accommodating and welcoming. Nothing is too hard for them to serve you. Congrats to management and all staff. Our 6 night stay was truely unforgettable. Special mention to AS. When a desert late at night could not be found, you found it and made it happen. The little touches of room fold down, cleanliness, breakfast and late night drinks in your bar served by excellent staff made out trip.

Great hotel with big clean rooms. Wander around the hotel and find the smaller secluded swimming pool overlooking the Melaka River. Nice hangout place. Hotel is walking distance to Jonker St. And Hard Rock Hotel.

We have only eaten here not stayed. We have had many a Sunday Lunch here and have also enjoyed special Christmas meals. The quality of food was always exceptional Without doubt the staff are as nice as you will find anywhere and will always go the extra mile for you. For example, my wife does not eat meat and the Sunday Brunch had no fish dishes. A word with the waiter and we were told 'no problem' and a special meal was cooked just for my wife — at no extra charge. Likewise at Christmas they carved me a large portion of turkey to take home for Boxing day. Again no charge made Thoroughly recommended!

Staff. Helpful and friendly. Ideally located which I think is its best plus point. Rooms are clean and different from the other hotels in Malacca. Walking distance to where it all is. Baba-Nyonya Steet n Jonker Walk. Good view too if you book the right room. Would have liked to meet the manager to ask for more answers. Perhaps on my next trip. I would recommend it to tourists.

An unbelievably amazing hotel with the service to match. Hotels in Malaysia tend to spend money on the public areas — the foyer, restraunte etc but the rooms can be very poor. Here they provide beautiful rooms with larhe balconies. We were sorry to leave this hotel and none of the others ee stayed at around Malaysia could compare to this one, service included.
