The kitchen was not so clean.
Cheap, small and far from Tokyo but if all you need is a bed and a shower its not bad at all. The host is pretty quiet but is a nice guy. Other guests were quiet when I was there.

Let's be honest: this is spartan lodging. The rooms are small, the bathroom isn't too clean, it's a bit far from the station and from the city center, and there isn't any damn convenience store around. But at this price, what did you expect? As in most guest houses, you get what you pay for, and in this case you didn't pay much, so don't come complaining. This guest house is not for tourists or families. It's best enjoyed when you already know Japan and don't expect anything more than a bed and some company. If you speak the language, the owner might just take you on a daydrinking tour around Ueno… This guesthouse is therefore recommended to seasoned backpackers and young people who like to keep things simple. Tourists, families and those seeking a comfortable stay: stop trying to save every penny and book a real hotel, or you'll end up disappointed.
