The staff was helpful and friendly. It is located at a very convenient location. Metro and train stations; supermarkets, shops and eateries are within 5-10 mins walking distance.

One of the great advantages of Ueno Gem Hotel is the convenience of transportation, from JR Ueno Station, Otsuka Station are very close, ride-hailing travel is very convenient. The hotel is also very close to the lively Amey Yoko, lack of things do not have to worry about, there are many shops around can make up for the needs, the hotel is also near convenience stores and delicious restaurants, function quite complete. Waiter attitude is quite good, accommodation room living room and toilet space is a little small, need to adapt. Breakfast is served on the first floor, with a breakfast voucher to be able to exchange for a breakfast, there are toast, fruit, muffins, hot dog rolls and other options, and hot soup is very good to drink. On the whole, this is a rather satisfactory restaurant.

Nice place to stay in, and close to market, food stalls, train stations. You cant rely their Wi-Fi data while theres full of hotel guests here. Serve simple breakfast with 4 menus and choices of juices, coffee & tea. The staff would provide most of the guest needs, they gave me sewing kit & lend a nail clipper.

The place was nice and cozy. I went to visit my classmate from way back childhood days and timingly her family came to Japan last May 2018. It was our reunion after 29 yrs. I told her to book a hotel around Ueno so that I can easily go there. Reception staffs and even the housekeeping staffs are very nice. Small rooms but nice. I would suggest this place if you want to stay downtown Tokyo for a reasonable price and the best access wherever you plan to go because the Ueno station, Okachimachi station are just a few blocks away and access to subway trains are just outside the hotel. Shopping area, discount stores, restaurants, Ueno park, zoo, museums are just around.

Concierge was helpful and friendly. Fluent in English. Service was excellent. Room was clean. Would stay here again!

The bed of the room is a little small, double, but is to the single bed, the TV program is also few, the proposal VOD provides several to watch for free, the 1F restaurant part, not enough diversification, the quantity is little, the fruit also wants the money, always hoped that the breakfast can eat point fruit.

Hotel transportation convenient location, from Skyliner and Ami horizontal very close, although the room is small but clean and comfortable, soundproof well and additional wet machine!

Booked a none smoking room, but after checked in, the room smells like ashtray. Air con tempeture is too high. Toilet is not well cleaning.

A bit in Ueno, is not far from the Mei Ding and the station. Near the drug store and restaurant, more than 12 years old children under the money also have breakfast, this great praise, the hotel should have been renovated over the past few years, the only drawback is that free Wi-Fi speed is really dare not to taste.

It is okay, not bad at all. I got small double room and no good of cleanliness. But the best thing of this hotel is thier location, very convenient to go to ameyoko or take the train to many place.

Amenities are sufficient. Very nice, cheap and clean hotel. They have a bath tub and breakfast is provided! Close to 2 train stations. Really recommend it.

Great location! In Ueno, Keisei Ueno, the middle of the three stations in the royal town, next door is the Anglo-Cho shopping street, shopping for food is super convenient! At the end of the counter is the Taiwanese who also help us book a restaurant! Can only give five stars can not be lower!

Slightly away from Keisei Ueno Station and JR Ueno Station, but close enough to walk to, this is a comfortable hotel. The rooms and bathrooms are small but has everything one needs. There is a large TV in the room. The breakfast is adequate. The staff are wonderful and really helpful, they will go the extra mile. There are plenty of eating options in the area.

Very convenient location near Ueno Station/Park. I was also impressed by the quality of the room and amenities and the courteous service. Throwing in free breakfast gets points too!

Room it self was small but comfortable, didn't have much natural sunlight and no window views at all due to the laminated glass. The bathroom is tiny but facilities basic amenities. Location is great for seeing that side of Tokyo & you'll be in walking distance to anything you need. Included breakfast is almost not worth having at all as it leaves the morning appetite wanting more, the servings are very small. My only real gripe is the Hotel tried to get me to pay a Hidden fee not stated anywhere in their terms and conditions. They had contacted Expedia also tried to get me to pay the hidden fee. How ever since the fee was not stated anywhere and after a 1 hour of disagreement the Hotel went from "we will involve authorities" to we agree it's a hidden fee & even started seeking my advice. During this debacle the manager was very rude despite the fact I was being very patient while going in circles.

Excellent service. Newly renovated rooms with all the amenities. Great location next to a few major stations (one of which is the terminus station for a line that services Narita). Walking distance to Ueno Park, Akihabara, and Asakusa. Free breakfast is a great way to start the day, but portions could be a little larger. As with everything in Tokyo, the rooms are tiny, but livable.

It is a very good midrange hotel. The points in favour are the location (3 minutes from the Yamanote Line, with a lively market behind it and 3 stops from Tokyo station), the modern style, cleanliness and clean and functional rooms although a bit small, like almost always in Tokyo.
However, there is a great deal of breakfast, which is done in an adjoining bar, which offers one and only one choice between a hot dog, 2 pancakes or 2 slices of bread in a box with a little butter on it. Accompanied by a cup of broth.
For the level of the hotel we found it a bad style fall which has a little ruined the good impressions on everything else.
