Review of New Central Hotel 2*

Close from Kanda Station and Awaji-cho Station. The location is definitely 4 stars. Not five though, because it is not directly connected to a subway or JR station, and absolutely not '1-2 minutes' walk' from either station as they claim. I suppose you possibly could arrive in either station within 2 minutes if you are one of those record holders in track and field… But I refuse to give any hotel that costs more than 8000 yen and DOES NOT HAVE A SHOWER anything more than three stars. They have a SPA underground? Yep, great, great. But not everyone and definitely not every tourist enjoys SPAs in the middle of the week. For more than 8000yen? No way, you can get a refurbished room with a crystal clean bathroom for that price in a weekday. They're also very cheap on the amenities and you will only get a single razor blade and a toothbrush for the night. Towels? You will get ONE SINGLE TOWEL for the night. Plus, this was the first hotel in my life that did not take my baggage to my room while I was away in the daytime. If you can put up with that kind of treatment, by all means, reserve this hotel for 8500 yen a night. Oh, and that DOES include the breakfast buffet. So you'd better get into the ALL-I-CAN-EAT mode and get ready to stuff in tons of food :) PS: I almost forgot to mention; I reserved a smoker's room by mistake, and I think they didn't clean it thoroughly; the room stank. Plus, there were weird particles on the pillow that left a mark when I tried to wipe off. I think they could've been cigarette dust or something. PS2: They have a mailing service. You can mail your stuffs to other locations in Japan. Not unheard of but it could be interesting if you live in another part of Japan (let's say Naha) and came to Tokyo to tour and bought too many souvenirs. Overall, the place is a two-star experience but for the price, doubtlessly one star. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone as I don't think I can trust their level of maintenance.
