Each room at Sakoya Inn has a traditional tatami (woven-straw) floor and a low table with floor cushions. Guests sleep in futon bedding. Most rooms have a private bathroom, and all come with a fridge and an electric kettle with green tea.

Featuring indoor and outdoor hot-spring baths and Japanese cuisine, Sakoya is 5 minutes from Kintetsu Yoshino Train Station on the hotel’s free shuttle. The Japanese-style rooms are air-conditioned, and some have a private open-air bathtub.

There are 2 hot-spring baths that can be reserved for private use for an extra fee, and they must be reserved at time of booking. You can browse the gift shop or relax on the forest-view deck.

Located on Mount Yoshino, the inn is a 5-minute walk from Sanjo Ropeway Cable-Car Station, Yoshino-jingu Shrine and Kinpusen-ji Temple.

A Japanese dinner is served at the banquet room, and traditional multi-course Kaiseki dinners can also be enjoyed for a fee. The Japanese breakfast is served at the garden terrace from April-November, and at the banquet room the rest of the year.

Open air is the best selling point, meals to wild vegetables and stains mainly can not be expected to be too large. Difficult to communicate with the original English, the business of the year of the eldest daughter Butler rules are quite a lot. In the low season of tourism, in order to save money and do not want to open men and women soup One, and the husband and wife mixed bath is of course acceptable, but the morning into the soup period to cancel, how to say that the high-end hotel fee is not worth it.

The service is good, staff are friendly, and the meals are tasty. However, most of the staff do not speak English. On top of that, we were given very little information about the facility. It would be really helpful if they had an instruction sheet in English to hand it to the guests. The in-room, onsen was better as an idea than the reality. First room given to us had completely broken onsen and they seemed to know about it (what? We paid for that. ) They upgraded our room but then we quickly realized that their water boiler can't keep up with amount of water used by the guests so we had to wait for some odd hours to use it.
