Review of Gabbiano Azzurro Hotel & Suites 4*

Nice hotel in a great location at a good beach, close tp the downtown of Figari; around 15 min. Easy walk. The hotel is a little bit old fashioned but good renovated. Lovely lobby, breakfast / restaurant room and seaside terrace. Breakfast OK, not outstanding. Restaurant staff friendly and helpful. Rooms normal and very clean (like the whole hotel). AC working very good. Pretty small balcony but OK. Temporarily too noisy, sometimes by other guests, sometimes by the cleaning crew which starts around 9 a. M. WLAN is a mess working only in the lobby / restaurant area. When online then very slow connection speed We were located on the first floor over the reception area and still had no connection possibility. Probably not bad for EU citizens who can use their home mobile package all over the EU. Parking not good regulated: outside spots sometimes not enough, parking ramp is mainly a not renovated basement fitting around 6 small cars. Adventurous but funny drive in and out. Reception staff exceptional with good tips on activities to do and perfect organisation. We had booked massage on the beach and a boat trip to the Archipelago de la Maddalena. Both were super organised and their money worth. My recommendation: if you plan a trip to the Maddalena Archipel take the exclusive tour and choose a sailing boat. It's a pretty difference in money (50 € for the more commercial boats and 130 € for the exclusive ones) but it's worth. If you can choose I'll even recommend a sailing over a only motor boat. We had one of the best days of our life, totally relaxed on a big sailing boat (Isabella), with only 9 guests in total, a lovely crue (Cristiano and his wife) who did a brilliant job in entertaining us, sailing us to different swimming spots, delicious cooking for us. And taking their time with never a feeling of rush. Words can't describe the wonderfulness of that day, I loved that boat trip!
