We've hit the jackpot. The Astoria is exactly what we needed and more. Right on the water front and in the thick of the restaurants. The hotel has great character from the outside and is super clean and modern chic on the inside. But the best experience of all is meeting the owners. They are superbly welcoming and provide a level of detail and recommendations setting you up for your trip. They have perfect English and are also like a comedy act and it is beautiful to see a couple in business working so well together. Perfect location, warm welcome, air conditioned and beautifully chic.

Pleasant stay right by the water and central. Very warm welcome by the hotel staff, they gave us tips on where to eat, what to do, etc. The room was very clean and quite spacious. A complimentary bottle of water would have been appreciated in the room, and it's a shame you have to have to pay 4€/day to have a kettle, but otherwise all good!

Such great place to stay. We had an amazing sea view from our room, everything so clean and the staff was so nice and helpfull, we were late for breakfast but the girl from the front desk was so nice that welcomed us and gave us breakfast anyway. I highly reccomend this hotel is just in the centre you find everything just walking distance.

Just about perfect! Fantastic location overlooking the harbour. Excellent hosts. Lovely room, breakfast, service, great shower. 5 minutes from train station in a beautiful resort. What's not to love about this place?

Very good place to stay overnight. Rooms are very comfortable, the bath rooms are spotless clean, very friendly and helpfull Front Desk. Nice view to seaside. Big Terrace. The Bar is more alibi than Bar. No Restaurant. It is a perfect Bed&Breakfast but not a Hotel.

Having looked at a range of hotels in Rapallo we chose to stay at The Astoria Hotel which we managed to get great value for money with an intercontinental breakfast included in the price which had plenty of food to choose from and did indeed fill us up. On arrival Alessandro the head receptionist was very friendly and made us feel welcome from the moment we stepped inside. The customer service was second to none the team (staff) at breakfast were also English speaking as well which helped us to understand what was on offer they again were very friendly and polite I didn't feel like we were rushed into any decisions, they did provide us with great advice on what to do and where to go. The location is excellent it is just a few minutes from the centre of town and has a beautiful view of the promenade and the sea. There's plenty of restaurants within walking distance and all provide exquisite Italian cuisine in addition to this the service is great. The room was of excellent standard and we also had a balcony which was perfect for getting some of the Italian sunshine. Adding onto this the housekeeper had ensured we had everything we needed in terms of extra amenities in the room. We were also celebrating a birthday here in Rapallo. So the staff had kindly brought a bottle of Santa Margherita Prosecco which was absolutely devine. Was not expecting this at all and made our day, thank you very much it was a complete surprise. We hope to return in the future. :)

We recently stayed at the hotel for 4 nights and so glad we did. It's a family run business and the owners made you feel like you were a guest in their own home. The owners and staff did everything in their power to help us and make us feel comfortable. One of the owners even walked us in the direction of a massage appointment to make sure we didn't get lost. The staff is very kind and provided excellent service. The lobby area had a sitting area where you could always count on grabbing water, juice and snack. Awesome location in the heart of town with a view of the sea, yet still quiet and serene.

As soon as you enter the hotel you're met with a lovely breeze and friendly welcomes. The staff are happy to serve your needs. It is surprisingly cheap and the rooms are great for the price. Comfy bed (s), beautiful view from the luxurious balcony.

We arrived to the warmest welcome so far in out Italian adventure. The hotel staff are super friendly and have all the information you need. The rooms are great, we had the terrace overlooking the bay and it was beautiful. This hotel is a great place to base your Italian riviera holiday from, not expensive but well connected to all the right destinations. The breakfast is good, better than most I've experienced in Italy. Parking is available at only EURO15 per night so not bad value.

Very quiet elegant sea view, competent and kind staff.

From the moment we entered we were treated so warmly with every consideration to make our stay as comfortable and memorable as possible. Alessandro, Sara and all staff took every opportunity to tell us about the optimum ways to enjoy our time, with daily excursions, explaining details of train routes and times, ferry options, and most importantly the best places to eat with an emphasis on the local cuisine. Our room and bathroom were modern throughout and we were delighted to be allocated a room with a balcony with wonderful seaward orientation. Breakfast menu was very good with plenty of to choice. Rapallo is an ideal base for this area, with good train and ferry connectivity (it is on the main train line on the eastern seaboard). It is a normal working Italian city, not over-dominated by tourism and having a good proportion of restaurants catering for local tastes. This hotel is a little gem and we enjoyed every minute of our stay. We would strongly recommend it and we hope to return to the area and this hotel especially. It was one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in on holiday, especially because of how well we were looked after.

Hospitality, courtesy and availability to the top, extremely cared for in every detail, rooms furnished with style, breakfast abundant and varied, seafront position, contribute to the success of a perfect stay!

After a 9 hours trip from Turin, I arrived at the hotel near midnight, the night manager was very welcome and said I have been upgraded, which was extremely nice after an ordeal to try to get here. The room is very clean and spacious. The next morning, I head downstairs for breakfast, again the staff were very friendly and welcoming, I really enjoyed the service here. Post stay update: after 4 days staying at this fine hotel, I have no doubt why they are No. 1 in TripAdvisor: (1) the location is less than 10 mins from Rapallo station and it is right in front of the waterfront; (2) all the staff are always very friendly and courteous and (3) their attention to detail is an example others should follow, like recognising me on arrival and have my key ready, or know I like hot chocolate for breakfast. I am not a demanding traveller, but these little things make you feel good while you're away from home. Grazie for a very pleasant stay!

Central location, 2 steps from the beach. Building of 1903, recently refurbished in a modern style. Staff very friendly. The rooms are clean, quite spacious and quiet. Average breakfast.

An excellent hotel in Rapallo.

Building, structure, however, looks nice and comfortable, the room is large and bright; the staff is distinguished by professionalism and love: these are the premises for short, pleasant stay that we recently had.

Great Hotel owners! It feels like home! great location.

We were on a 6 week trip thru italy with 1 week in Rapallo. We were lucky to get a room on the 1st floor with a very large outdoor terrace. We felt like throwing a party. Besides this wonderful room I must comment on the hotel service. It was like staying at a relative home that you really like. Such class and dignity and care for each and every patron. Maricu', Marco,. Paolo, Roberto, Ugu, Cinzia (hope I spelled these all correctly) were like a big happy family that made one feel so at home and taken care of. They directed us on great places to eat. How to get where we were going, and were always so pleasant. The breakfast was so good with so much to choose from and beautifully presented. We hated to leave this amazing hotel and beautiful Rapallo. All I can say is go there and experience for yourself. We travel a lot and are quite picky about where we stay. This was tops and the price was amazing.
