Reviews of Trevi Fountain Guesthouse 2*
Spectacular! Awesome art.
Definitely a place to go back, I imagined it beautiful, but it doesn't compare to seeing it live! The people of Rome are very friendly and funny, from who guided us at the Airport, to each person with whom we could talk and share.
Rome is definitely now one of my favorite places! 💜
Beautiful place but be Very Aware of so called professional photographers taken your photo.
What they do first if they see you taken photos yourself they will offer to take them for you about 5 of them, Now they will ask if they can take a so called professional photos of you which you might Say No which I highly recommend that you do this is regarding this is happening in the evening during the day I wouldn’t know the quality of the photos.
All I know the ones in the evening are terrible and would cost you €20 complete waste of money.
Apart from this Trevi fountain is very beautiful and specially at night. 👍
A must-see place if you visit Rome! Seeing it day and night is truly amazing! One can only be amazed when you see this sculpture work! 😍
One of the most beautiful places in the world, where I always want to go back.
The Trevi fountain is a must-have place in Rome. Beautiful places, with a Roman architecture so well realized. When the Sun is on the fountain you can make beautiful photos. On the other hand the place attracts a lot of tourists on the square, the ideal is to come as soon as possible or even in the evening because in the afternoon there are many people.
A must of day and night. Almost continuous effervescence. It takes a little fight to succeed in winning its photo location but it is part of the charm. Price of course in relation to the notoriety of the place.
Wonderful classic places and very (too) touristy… You have to see it but you have to play elbows to approach it… Right side, above the wall gives an ideal position of observation… The "Gelaterie" of the corner will all make you spend a good time!
The first time I went in July of 2014, it was covered in scaffolding which was a huge disappointment, but it was still beautiful. However, when I went in May 2018 with three of my friends it was cleaned up and the water was turned on. It was one of the most gorgeous landmarks I have ever seen. You must push your way to the front for better pictures, tossing a coin in the water, and to truly enjoy the fountain in all of its glory.
This fountain has been adorned with a magnificent statue of the Ancient Roman sea God Neptune riding the seas on his chariot being pulled by hippocampi. Carved in white, the statue is absolutely gorgeous and regal. The water is extremely clear too. The locals here believe that if you throw coins over your shoulder into the fountain your wishes might come true. Different number of coins for different wishes. Overall the place is totally worth visiting if you happen to drop by into Rome.
The fountain is enclaved on a small square. It can be accessed through different paths. Example. At the Presidential Palace there is a large staircase. Always straight. There are small signs to help you. You're in. Approx. 600 meters… Go there the night it is beautiful. We don't eat near the fountain. And we don't sit on the rock.
Unbelievable Place! What a day in the evening! I really wanted to visit there. The Dream is realized! Of course, there are many People. Early morning were not, say that at six in the morning there are no people) ) ) and so, in general very beautiful! Nearby Sell Delicious ice cream you can take and eat, enjoy moment in such a beautiful place.
It's nice, but you're never alone there. Yes well, if you were to pull off the people who want to sell something, want to take a picture for me or are just out for my money, half would be gone … The fountain itself is worth seeing. But that affects almost everything in Rome.
Simply spectacular. We went to visit her just the day that we arrived in the evening. We were walking through modern streets, next to souvenir shops, along with restaurants and distracted looking for the path with the mobile phone… And suddenly raise the light and there he was, with your lighting and with the jets. The only thing wrong with the amount of people present there.
Beautiful, but unfortunately very crowded. Would probably see late in the evening past there in the future. You don't imagine how many coins are thrown into the well every day. By the end of 2017, all "proceeds" had been donated to Caritas. Apparently, the city of Rome has been retaining the money from the fountain itself since 2018. I hope it will continue to be used for social projects. For it is precisely in Rome that poverty and wealth are clearly close to each other.
Is it possible to visit Rome without seeing the Fontana di Trevi? Probably not. The fountain is as famous as it is unforgettable. Every day, thousands of visitors find their way to this beautiful fountain. Don't forget who wants to come back to Rome, toss a coin with their right hand over their left shoulder.
Until late in Rome for some reason thought that the fountain is very large, and that the spacious place is. But on arrival, I was surprised at his whereabouts. This is a favorite romantic place hidden in the streets and not so big. Tourists here the sea and sneak for a photo or to throw a coin and that is difficult. Night time Is the same. And One more small minus-illumination of a fountain so so.
The source is a marvel. Majestic, pure art, and hard. What's worse, the large influx of tourism, it's best to visit at night, there are less people. The cleanliness of the place leaves much to be desired. Papers, empty bottles and even an ice cream completely left in the place reserved to sit. We still have a lot to learn in terms of conservation of enclosures as emblematic.
This place is so beautiful. I'm glad we went at night and saw it lit up. I believe it was even prettier that way. Definitely worth a visit. Oh yeah, don't forget to throw a coin in! Turn your back to the fountain. Take the coin in your right hand and throw it over your left shoulder. You're coming back!
The Original fountain. All roads lead to Trevi. Wherever you go in Rome, you will still come to Trevi. Near The fountain There is a dzhelaterija, natural filler, very tasty ice cream (from 1, 5 euro ball), there is a toilet (keep the check). Do not forget to throw a coin in the fountain, right hand over the left shoulder. By the Way, there is a copy of this fountain in Seoul. But The original is, of course, cooler. Recommended to visit, to put another tourist cross.
Another one of the mandatory visits in this Rome wonderful and full of history. The Trevi Fountain is huge, very well maintained, guarded, and obviously full of tourists, which in many cases fill the place of garbage unfortunately. The lighting at night creates a great contrast between the water and the sculptures. There are stands where before you could sit to contemplate the beauty of the place. The surroundings you have ice cream shops and some restaurants in which you can buy food to take away or just sit and eat right there.
How thrilling! Water comes from the purest keys, located 13 km from Rome, on the water pipe, which operates from the 1st century BC. The Trevi Fountain is erected in front of the magnificent Palazzo Poli. The Majestic façade of the palace and the magnificent splendor of the fountain, adjoining it closely, create a stunning picture.
The General composition is devoted to the marine theme: a mythical hero in the image of Neptune on a chariot, made in the form of a sea shell and drawn by Seahorses and Tritons. Located behind him, the central niche of the building gives the impression that the lord of the Ocean drove through it. Ringing streams of water gracefully stream on other sculptures and violently breaking down, fall on stones, creating noise of a sea surf. In niches located on the sides of Neptune, there are allegorical figures, and from above-Bas-reliefs.
One of them depicts a girl pointing the Roman soldiers at the source, or rather the aqueduct, which is the supplier of water for such a grandiose structure.
The last time I went there I of course launched my play and I'm back in Rome.
Hoping to return there I of course repeat the operation we will see well.
The fountain is really beautiful but there are many people.
Know that if you throw a coin, this one will be recovered and give to an association so I think it can be fun and you can do a good deed by doing this.
A essential of Rome, and to me the most beautiful of the city. So crowded and lively that is any-hour, the life that you have. Beautiful day or night-lit. There is nothing like eating a ice cream relaxed observandola, to see how people throw their coins and ask for your wishes… and to launch request yours! beautiful.
One of the most beautiful and crowded places in Rome. The Trevi fountain is certainly the most scenic and the most famous among the fountains of Rome and constitutes the exhibition of the Virgin Water, the aqueduct that Marco Vipsanius Agrippa led to Rome in 19 a. C. To feed its spas. Today it is literally stormed by tourists. Famous the tradition of throwing a coin inside the fountain.
I state that Trevi fountain as different works and monuments of Rome are beautiful, you can not make a bad judgement to the works. But I have to point out the total disorganization, in getting disabled different accesses: Starting from the Metro, to the monuments as well as to the shops and the rough pavements, as well as the roads: I with problems to walk and that sometimes I had to use the wheelchair s Marina became crazy to find the proper accesses there were also cars parked. But I hope someone realizes the absurdity of seeing… and finding the lack of attention to those who have motor disabilities, and must be penalized.
Too bad, since it's a beautiful city! Deeply disappointed. Barbara Pajarillo.
Along with those of Piazza di Spagna and Piazza Navona, Trevi's is one of the most beautiful fountains in Rome.
Why is it called that?
We must go back in time, to the Middle Ages, when in the same place where today the fountain was crossed three roads to form a trivium or a cross, formed precisely, as the Latin word suggests, from three streets.
In full Baroque style, made up of marble travertine stuccoes and metals, the fountain dates back to the middle of 700.
Tip: Choose the sunrise or the night to enjoy 15 minutes of silence, accompanied only by the zampillio of the water…
Enjoy!
I kept tormenteding the idea that I had not chosen a hotel next to the most iconic place (after the Vatican) — the Trevi Fountain. And again after a visit with relief gasped: it is wonderful that has not chosen! Rotate in this neutihajushhem gaggle crowd of people seeking to throw coins in the water on the Sbychu dream… The price of desires is: one-for happiness or health, two coins-to meet love, three-a wedding, four! To wealth. "Throw four coins at least one euro! You cannot trifles when you are on the wealth of guessing! ) ) ) ), "I said to a woman vybiravshej a smaller coin from handfuls. In general, from the Trevi I have not very wrong: water in it does not soothe, beggars nearby and police, who repel the first and ask to depart people with food or drinks-alarming. In the evening to pass at all is not possible, because it is going even more people to look at illumination. And the guides, approaching this square, remove the backpack from the back and take it in hand: the danger of theft is high. It would be interesting to watch the clock at eight in the morning as the fountain collect coins, say that the city service to charity.
It was Marcus Vipsanius Agrippa, the great admiral who had created the powerful Roman fleet, but also a leading hydraulic engineer in the service of the Emperor Augustus, to bring the Virgin Water to Rome in 19 BC. The aqueduct, built with the intention of creating a free spa for citizenship consecrated to the god Neptune, still runs entirely underground and the Trevi fountain is precisely the "exhibition", that is the monumental fountain that marked the end.
The water that gushes from the sources of living room and its name, "Virgin" derives from the legend that the soldiers of Agrippa, thirsty, were guided to the source by a maiden, a virgin, or perhaps the goddess Diana, sister of Apollo, who loved Bathe in the sources in the company of his nymphs returning from the fatigues of hunting.
Wanted to see the real deal after seeing the one in Vegas We got there at night, kind of drunk already, there were tons of people there and I didn't even mind… Normally I would. This thing is so over the top. You got to see it, also there is pretty cool brew pub round the corner on the left… But yeah, the fountain, loved it. I'll have to look up some photos of what it looks like during the day, because I don't remember much. Would totally visit again. Sober. During the day. Or night.
Perfectly pure and that most impressive of Rome, over free. It is unimaginable to find something like that, just around the corner, hidden such grandeur. Is sitting down to admire it for a good while. Beautiful.
The Trevi Fountain is one of the most beautiful works in Rome. The fountain visit is free. In every hour of the day there are many tourists who admire it. At night it seems to be in a movie because the blue of the water with the lights becomes a real portrait, a work of art. Impossible not to visit it if you are in Rome. Beware of pickpockets, however, abiate not afraid because to supervise there are many force of the order.
Beautiful fountain. Mesmerizing artwork. Lovely to spend time just taking in all the beautiful statues. The architecture is all around. It is wonderful to get lost in this beautiful scene. You would definitely want this on your list of must sees in Rome. So much history in this gorgeous city.
Beautiful experience to visit the Trevi fountain in Rome. The lights and ambience is very romantic and a perfect spot for couples to spend a few romantic moments. Or friends to hang out. The walk to the place from where I was staying (near San Pietro station) was very interesting. Lots of historical places on the way and very nice gelato joints and restaurants too. The fountain also has loads of interesting history about it and many souvenirs shops and cafes nearby so be prepared to spend at least an hour or two around it. Looks best at night with its ambient lighting. Standing close to it will send lovely mists and sprays of water on you and make the moment a little more special. Five stars for the architecture, sculpture, history, ambience and experience.
Amazing. Romantic. Enigmatic. To pass all the days. Difficult to take a photo without tourists. Visited all the time.
Simply beautiful, you can't stop going to this place, it's beautiful.
The most beautiful fountain in Rome. The narratives after probably the end of one of the aqueducts, at least in the origin. Wonderfully light blue water, beautiful wrought figures and masses of people. Those who feel hungry should go into the view towards the fountain on the left side of the ice and pizza shop. Is mostly busy but the pizza and the ice cream are really top notch. Three large pieces of pizza (together CA 600g) came €12 so as written 100g = 1, €99 and the small ice with two balls 2, €50.
Very impressive! The Trevi Fountain is absolutely worth seeing. On our visit there were unfortunately so many tourists on site that one had to fight almost to the well. In the evening after sunset, the view is more spectacular due to the great lighting.
Beautiful fountain. An excellent piece of art. Must place of visit. May be you will have to walk a bit. But worth it. Also a street artist/ beggar on the way hiding his face n performing may interest kids n kids like adults! # The Trevi Fountain is one of the oldest water sources in Rome. The fountain dates back to ancient Roman times, since the construction of the Aqua Virgo Aqueduct in 19 B. C. That provided water to the Roman baths and the fountains of central Rome.
That's great! The fountain can be reached on many roads, signs are also enough to lead to the Trevi Fountain. Arriving at the well it is simply overwhelming. The clear water and the size are impressive. Of course, there is a lot going on here, but you still manage to throw money into the well, old custom, and take great photos.
Here too there are the men dressed as gladiators with whom one can take a photo. However, it costs a little;)
A magical place, although as is normal, full of tourists. It is a pity, because you can not enjoy to the fullest because it is crowded. And that was in February which is low season. They say that if you throw a coin with your right hand behind your left shoulder, you will return to the beautiful Eternal City. If you roll two, you enamoraras. If you throw three, it is to be married. In addition, I heard in the night to empty the coins and give them to the homeless romans.
As populated as ever but therefore not less beautiful. Good restaurants in the vicinity. But the best thing about the place that sells wallets or wallet in leather or skin of very good quality and Craftsmanship. In the purchase you register your name. The Seals excellent place for price and quality.
Must be for Rombesucher. We didn't have any problems, but beware of pickpockets. Especially in the evening a highlight of how Rome unfolds its whole flair in the evening. Funny we found the constant whistle until we found out that it comes from "watchers" who punish rigorously things that are not allowed (do not put into the water, do not sit on the marble, do not go over any barriers…).
The Trevi Fountain is grandiose, extraordinarily beautiful, it fascinates, you can stand for hours considering every detail and listening to the splash of water. It is necessary to visit it both day and evening, at different illumination it gives the atmosphere. This is a favorite place of romance, you can see a beautiful offer of the hand and heart, and maybe make your own necessarily take the time to visit it and throw a coin for happiness. As in any tourist place, there are a lot of people, but it does not spoil the impressions of what you saw. There are many restaurants nearby, where you can have a snack and rest during a walk in the beautiful Rome.
One of the places to visit. Beautiful, no, perfect. The fountain strikes at a glance and you can stand to admire forever. The fountain is always a lot of people who come to socialize, who just see who throw a coin and make a wish, who to confess to love… Everyone will find themselves. Among all these people there are pickpockets, so be careful and enjoy.
A must-have place to do in Rome. One of the most beautiful fountains in the world. Bravo Fendi for this wonderful restoration! Don't forget to throw in a room and make a vow.
The wish pool next to a small shop called Planet Pizza, it is expensive and unpalatable, do not go!
A very small place eaten by an imposing fountain. Beautiful Yes, inescapable Yes but crowded 24h24 7/7d.
Fountain that takes its name from the water that comes from Trevi, and that "serves" other fountains in the noble palaces of Rome. Ancient seat of the Vatican Mint. Located in the centre of Caput Mundi. Obligatory visit for all. Famous for the rite of the "coin" thrown giving his shoulders. "And you'll return to Rome. " Marble sculptures blaze of the god Neptune, the King of the Seas.
Very lively neighborhood not to miss. On the other hand, tourists are often disturbed or even assaulted by sellers of "crap". At first it's funny but it quickly becomes annoying.
Simply fantastic though of Fontana you can see very little unless you go at 7am or at night. Simply a bedlam continues in this small square that encloses this jewel.
Consider a good wait to try to take some pictures writhe between tourists and residents.
Very recommended however the visit to this corner of Rome.
Very beautiful fountain in Rome. It's just huge as a whole building. Near it you can drink water through a trickle. A lot of tourists both day and evening! Sits on the edge of the fountain is forbidden. There's always a security guard with Svestkami and everybody's chasing. At the bottom of the fountain a pile of coins, just a sea Eureka. The fountain in the evening is very nicely illuminated)
Wonderful Bernini fountain with various sculptures and of special amplitude. Recently restored and cleaned up. The square in which you can admire is hidden between palaces and alleys of the center. One cannot but cite the traditional legend that tourists, turning their backs and throwing in a coin, "force destiny" to bring them back to the Eternal City. It was home to movies and inspired the song "Goodbye, Rome".
Undoubtedly one of the most sought after attractions by tourists in Rome. Difficult to approach in the daytime causes too much turnout. In the evenings and especially at night, because it's good luck to live nearby, it's undoubtedly the show is the best time. Do not throw the coins as they do all the tourists then that eventually come at night illegally collect them in front of the police as demonstrated in the service of the hyenas.
One of the most beautiful fountains in the world! This is one of the places to see absolutely during a passage in Rome. Beware of the pseudo photographer who want to take you at all costs and who will ask you to pay the photo taking! I advise you to visit this place in the late morning or early evening to appreciate it has its fair value…
One of the most wonderful examples of Baroque art in Italy. Strongly desired by Pope Clement XII, it feeds with an ancient aqueduct, that of the water Virgo, built several years before Christ. Even today you can visit, by appointment, the power plants and it is an experience that I recommend you to do. You will see another aspect of an iconic place, known all over the world. Taken by assault from tourists of all kinds and provenance, often is made set of double shots. Almost every hour of the day you can find tourists intent to realize selfie with the background of the fountain. In the warmer months the temptation to put your feet to soak is high, but you don't have to give in, worth a very salty fine. Unfortunately, or fortunately, the scene of the Fellini film "La Dolce Vita", with Marcello Mastroianni and Anita Ekberg that wallows in the water of the fountain will never be repeated. It is the custom (as in all the fountains of Rome…) visiting the fountain, to throw, giving her shoulders, a coin of the country of origin between the waters, as a good omen for a safe return home and a new visit to Rome. The architect Salvi wanted to represent in his allegory, the transformation of water into the matter, water as a source of life and that spreads to all corners of the globe. Subject to recent private-funded restorations, it has been restored to its original splendor for a few years.
Amazing amazing amazing. It's Stunning. I could of sat there for days. Its also home to the best Italian we've ever had.
Beautiful and even more night!
A recent restoration has taken place and the fountain is only more beautiful.
A lot of people but it's normal, I advise you to spend day and night, both atmospheres are really different.
This fountain is breathtaking. Super busy which I could drop a star because of, but that's not the fountains fault. Hence why I still think it's a five star must see. It is free and a gorgeous site in Rome. It's detail is incredible and I haven't seen anything like it anywhere in the world.
Need your wish granted while in Rome? Look no further, take a short walk over to the famous Trevi fountain and throw in a EUR coin. Make sure your back is turned, away from the fountain, when you throw the coin over your shoulder, or else, it's not going to count. It's definitely a crowded space where a lot of people go, tourist and locals. Probably one of the most beautiful places to admire sculptures, regardless of it being day or night.
If you go to Rome you need to see beautiful place. But first acquire a good map with spelling that the local community, can help you with. That way you can point to where you are going, unless you are fluent in their language. There is a hop on hop off bus that you need to take advantage of. Do this first to got your bearings (it really helps) Ride the whole route first then with you map plan your days.
Great fountain, but so much crowd here! Very clear water and amazing stuffs. In the summer could be very hot. But a gelato couldn't cool the heat. It melts within a minutes. Maybe you should try more than once. ;)
This is I believe the most beautiful monument in all of room. Nestled in a quiet corner it conjures up excitement from every entry point on first view. The monument is not only spectacular it is clean and sparking today as it was for the ancient. A first must see when visiting Rome Italy & remember to toss a coin to guarantee your retun. It worked for my wife but took until our 50th Wedding Anniversary to do it.
The legendary fountain. But it's better to come back at night or late in the evening. He looks pretty boring.
Many people. It is a good idea to go to the comfortable early in the morning. Show apart go them Monday aprox. 6 a. M. Clean the fountain and the thousands of coins that are.
Can't say you have been to Rome without at least making a short stop here to admire this magnificent fountain. And I do mean a short stop as there's way too many people as the crowds here can be insane. It's a beautiful fountain though, and even in the Rome summer heat, a short pit stop here while enjoying a gelato is worth it and refreshing.
In first place would like to know as still there are people that not valued such beauty, by luck the majority thinks as I, me would be hours observandola, bella. Beautiful. Bella Roma. I hope return.
Majestic! Sometimes extremely crowded with visitors and tourist but it's such a cool place! At dawn and during night it's light up offering cool intersting details and contrast of the magnificent sculptures and the water fountain. The water looks so cool! I Visited during the day and night to get diff contrast of light in my pics. :D.
Has more fame to another thing. It is a source where everyone wants to go. But would pass unnoticed if not had so much fame.
Is abarritadisima of people. Impossible to take photos without people.
She is not ugly. It is good, but it loses magic as there is so many people so much.
By then leo phenomenon interesting to visit not is see the source, if not the people crowded!
“A tourist attraction, but a must see” Not sure if there's a time when this place is less busy. But I braved it on a Thursday night at what I'd say was a peak time. Still managed to get up close w/out too much hassle.
All the world has heard of it but the great thing about this source is that they do not expect. Usually you think of a famous fountain in a central location, or in the middle of a plaza. This in particular is not, it's a little hidden between narrow streets so that you can turn a corner and… Boom! There you have it in all its glory. The source is in the facade of a building like that is huge. More people than in the war you're going to find. Careful in crowds as you know. And don't forget to take your coin and ask for your desire! To the right of the fountain there is a small fountain where you can refill your water bottle. Highly recommended night and day.
My favorite place in Rome. It is located at the confluence of three streets (three-way, hence its name) where you least expect to see is this majestic source. Beautiful day and night magic. The only penalty is the amount of tourists we met there at all hours. It is essential to take the coins to return 1, 2 to find love.
Not particularly impressed, fountain, fountain people as much, really.
Recently cleaned the fountain, and now he is white without the dark smudges and stains.
to make a good photo, it is necessary to catch the moment.
night too crowded.
It is not as if the Trevi Fountain needs reviewing; it is one of the quintessential parts of Rome that you should never miss. Be prepared for crowds, however, and if you are willing to brave it early in the morning you might find a little more breathing room than usual; but the fountain truly looks it's best at both dawn and dusk. The lights cast deep shadows, giving the sculptures depth and life, and the water looks amazing. Lots of drinking fountains and "noses" around, but skip the nearby food vendors as they are very overpriced.
Very beautiful and bright place, specially to go here and probably not worth it, but if the pass number go.
They say that a lot of people, but we were here in the rain) ) a lot of people)
An absolute must-see while in Rome. It's hard to understand how huge and beautiful it is until you're actually there. Lots of people and warnings of pickpocketts, so just be careful with your belongings while there, and the lighting at night is super nice.
Saw it in the day time and the night, definitely recommend the night version of you only get one chance to see it, very beautiful. Be wary of scammers around here, they'll try to seem you anything, or tell you they are official photographers, don't believe it, take all the pictures you want. Don't forget to throw a coin in over your shoulder for good luck!
20-th of August. On the reconstruction. Acting is certainly a very majestic and incredibly beautiful. Now fenced in the entire scaffold.
