Review of Tobago 4*

We spent my partner’s birthday in Garda and stayed at the Tobago Hotel. We thought it was a superb hotel for many reasons. The staff were friendly knowledgeable, helpful, attentive yet not intrusive. They helped with bus timetables and gave great recommendations for restaurants. The breakfast is excellent, served until 11am, with an fantastic range of juices, teas and food on offer — yoghurt, fruit, muesli, dry fruit, ham, different cheeses, eggs, jams and honey and fresh pastries and croissants. There is special attention given to ensuring there is gluten free food. The pool is spotless with comfortable loungers. Staff are available to bring poolside snackThere was no difficulty getting a sun lounger and thankfully no guests ‘reserved’ and hogged sun beds. Everyone was catered for. Staff are available to bring poolside snacks. The pool looks into the main road. However when the fountain was on you hardly noticed the traffic noise. Our room was very clean and there was a balcony. Our favourite room was the bathroom which had a bath big enough for two! It also had jets, so it was like having a private spa! The hotel is eco conscious and provide toiletries that promote this concept. We checked out at 11am and were invited to use hotel facilities until we left later that day. This was most appreciated. Probably the best hotel experience we have ever had and look forward to returning someday. Ps. Don’t forget to visit the ice cream shop BULLIO near the bus station and visit Malcesine.
