I have to travel to Dublin regularly for work and get placed at this hotel. For me, it's a delight as the hotel is genuinely fantastic. From the warm welcome at reception during check-in to the exquisite service in the restaurants, I cannot fault this hotel in any way. David, who works in the Orangerie bar/restaurant, provides first class service with a smile throughout the day. This restaurant, during the winter, has the most incredible open fireplace providing a warm and homely feel even on the coldest of nights. If that's not enough, the main building is sensationally stunning. I imagine it must be a very popular wedding venue given the periodic decor and picturesque grounds, which are maintained to a very high standard. Rooms are reasonably-sized, clean and well-fitted (albeit the television selection isn't brilliant and may require a revamp). I haven't tried the apartment / premium rooms, but they look beautiful. Views generally either look out across the grounds (my preference — odd numbered rooms) or across the vista towards Dublin centre — if on the even numbered rooms, the higher the floor the better the view — rooms on the fourth floor provide the best view in either direction. Most importantly for any traveller, a comfortable bed and warm, powerful shower comes as standard in any room. Whilst this is my default location for work, I would be more than happy to use this as a venue when travelling with my family; given the high standards I have, this is a great compliment to the hotel and its staff.
