Review of Hotel Sonia CIDCO 3*

Booked the hotel in great happiness after reading reviews on various sites. I was genuinely thrilled after reaching the hotel and checking the room. The room is great for the given price and I was really happy on getting such a great deal. Post dinner close to 10 pm, my better half noticed some really small and weird insects on the floor. We started to observe them and we realised they were all over the room including the bed. Soon we realised that they were on us as well and were biting us really bad. This happened just before we were about to turn in. We had no option but to leave the place with our luggage at that time. We were scared it would enter out clothes and luggage. We asked them to help us with alternate arrangements — another room, the reception staff was not the most helpful. He said everything was booked. Though he did call up some people and checked and finally told us we could sleep in the conference hall if needed. I was not in a mood to sleep on a mattress in a conference hall. So after checking online we proceeded to book another hotel and left this hotel. The staff assured us that this has never happened before. The admin and housekeeping team were very helpful and mopped up the floor and sprayed some spray. Only thing is that since the insect was coming from the wooden structure above the bed, this was not going to make it go away. I don't want to spoil the name of this hotel, I genuinely think they are a good hotel and the service before this incident was really good and hence inspite of everything I have given a 3 star to the place. But request the hotel to please pay attention to the cleanliness in the room a bit more closely. And also they need training on handling such situations better, maybe book another hotel room as a compensation and help out the people who are strangers in the city at 11 pm.
