Nice stay. Walkable distance from the town and boating boarding point is also nearby.

Fantastic room, interior was fully pure wood it represents the hotel name, food served from them was kerala dish it was yummy, staff was good.

Location is good Food is Ok-ok Rooms need to be bit clean I saw lizards there No drivers room.

We were 13 Mauritians to stay at Periyar Woods and our stay there was really awesome. The service great and hosts were warm and welcoming.

A lovely homestay with warm host and people around. Very humble and caring in nature. They will arrange and recommend all programmes of Periyar, Thekkady that needs to be covered. The location is also pleasant and peaceful. The balcony and toilets are neat and clean. I strongly recommend this place for stay in Periyar, Thekkady.

Great place. Well maintained, same as it was 3 years back. Good host was helpful in getting the activities arranged.

Didn't expect that the place to be so nice. But it was just amazing. Had a night walk from the hotel to the main road and it was just awesome. All facilities in the hotel were also super.

Hotel location is good which is near to market. Intercom facility is not available. Room size, orientation, was great. Hospitality also was good & morning breakfast was too good.

Nice homestay. Location is a bit problem. Rest is fine. Rooms were big with attached toilet which are newly renovated. The owners are very warm. Breakfast was scrumptious.

Justin &Chitra are good host. Breakfast is great and home cooked, owner will serve if you want to try any local dishes. Chitra was nice enough to provide cup of milk for my kid in night and early morning hours. Though rooms are nice and comfortable few things cane be improved like hot water availability, intercom. This place is good for groups (not for families with kids) as there is no full time restaurant to order food and other options are available on the road in main market.

If you can't provide a decent meal they don't ever take up meal orders. They gave us 12 chapatis and only one pot of chicken among 6 people with no rice and that's it. Can you imagine a south Indian place with no rice. Hot water was not available, the boy provided buckets of water and also the flush was nonfunctional, that is no way how any hospitality institute should function. And also in breakfast they completely ignored the child with us and provided only 5 medu wadas, why be so stringent? Better go for Periyar Meadows.

Good resort where they provide homemade breakfast as complementary. One thing I felt was that there is no landline phone for service so we have to go down every time to ask or say anything.

One star for this hotel is much higher. Worst hotel it is. No room service, no intercom, no kitchen and rooms are full with spiders, insects, lezerts, Kokroches, Breakfast they arrange from some where else. Look like this as a Dharamshala not hotel.

Although we stayed for a night only, it was a good experience to stay in Periyar woods. The couple are dedicated to their services to their guests. Breakfast was really satisfying and yummy. The only thing which I found lacking in this home stay was unavailability of dinner, as we had to walk more than a kilometer for dinner and we were already tired and didn't get a good food as Kumily is a comercial place. I suggest the couple to provide homemade food if possible so that one can enjoy and relax in such a relaxing homestays. To search for dinner is a tyring and time consuming job. Otherwise, Mr Justine is always there to help you. He can take care of your needs including arranging all your visits. Thanks for your hospitality.

Very neatly maintained. Well furnished air-conditioned rooms with TV and attached washrooms with balcony. Very nice staff and provides only breakfast. Their Hospitality is their asset.

We enjoyed our stay at periyar woods! The owners are very humble, polite and helpful. They made our stay in thekkady very comfortable and homely. Also, helped us in giving suggestions and contacts for shopping, spa, activities in thekkady!

We stayed there as overnight guests, spending one day in the city. The staff is very attentive and Cares for you, but the place is a bit run down. In our room, the handle to de bathroom was broken and fixed with tape, white the towels had some stains and so on. Breakfast, food in general was good, and it was prepared to our occidental tastes.

Periyar Woods is your home away from in the pristine surroundings of Kumily. It is quite close to the Kumily Junction and Thekkady Forest entrance. We were upgraded to the Quadruple room by the generous owner of the homestay, Mr. Justin. We spent 2 nights in a very clean, well built and spacious room which had the most amazing balcony filled with potted plants and a wonderful view of the greenery all around. The south indian breakfast each morning was delicious and nutritious. And our host's gregarious company made it all the more enjoyable. Will definitely like to stay with them, next when we are in Kumily/ Thekkady.

Great room, comfy beds, spacious and peaceful balcony and fantastic location tucked down a side road only a short stroll from Thekaddy town and Periyar National Park. Unfortunately, hot water was not always available and would recommend a stroll into town for dinner as did not measure up to meals available in the local restaurants.

Homely Stay, balcony view was amazing with cloudy mountains… Tasty breakfast… Mr Justin & family are very friendly njoyed our stay at periyar woods would like to visit it again.

Very nice and clean b&b. The owners are very helpful and can arrange jeep safari, elephant rides and all attractions in the surrounding area.

Amazing ambience, peaceful atmosphere. Mostly because of the hosts, who always keep you occupied. Never feels like you were in hotel, you feel like you were in your family friends place.

My wife and I stayed at Periyar Woods for 5 dags. The hosts were very serviceminded, polite and generous. The house has a quiet location, some 10 minuters walking from the main street. The room was of a good size, clean, with a balcony, everything worked perfectly. We recommend this stay and hope to return.

It is way much better than those 3-4 star hotels. Stay is comfortable and clean. Ample of amenities including Wi-Fi. Breakfast is available and I must say Delicious! I would recommend this home stay to ever visitor!

Good place. Well maintained. B&B only. Good breakfast. Very good and cordial owner. Only things required to make this property excellent is to have power back up and water heater apart from solar water heater. A very good stay experience.

The location is superb, comfortable room and the best Wi-Fi connection we found in India. But above all, the welcome of Justine, Chithira and Jerron;) was exceptional! Inevitably the place to be if you are in the Kumily area.
Don't miss that place.
