The property first accepted the booking at a lower cost and when the prices were high due to higher demand, they cancelled the booking with reason that the group booking is not allowed, however the same was not mentioned at all at the time off booking in the terms. I had been shared the payment link and the confirmation mail as well and same should have not been shared if this was the case. Totally disappointed.

It is nearby Laxman jhula, good dhaba around, beautiful view, but little difficult to find u have to walk inside and find. People are aware of this place. It has very good AC dormantary. Very good for chilling.

First I really enjoyed staying at shiv shakti hostel. But after the second night when I woke up, I found bed bugs in my bed. Not just only small ones, also big bloody ones. I immediately put my stuff out of the bed but it got worse. More and more bed bugs came out of the holes in the wooden bed body. It was so disgusting! When I told the staff (they were sleeping in the lobby) they just didn’t care. They kept sleeping. They didn’t even come to see the room or the bed. Even not after checking out. So actually they didn't know which bed in which room was infected! Because of this I can imagine that they just changed the bloody bed sheets and checked in the next guest into this bed, otherwise they would have at least found out which bed it was and checked it. After all, they didn’t want to give us our money back for the third paid night which we wanted to get refunded as we didn't plan to keep staying in such a dirty place! Only after a loud discussion they gave it back. I got not even a sorry for having a million of bed bugs in my bed! Not one sign of responsibility in this hostel regarding the bed bugs (I assume they have been there at least a couple of months as they were coming out in storms as soon as the AC was shut off which is not unusual for this hostel) and regarding the behaviour of the staff. Don’t go there! Pay a little more for a clean bed, it’s worth it!

Nice room very good location, staff cooperative and give free tea Rooms and toilet very clean and they give u fresh tawel They also provide family dinner on Thursday and arrange sight seeing and other activity at reasonable rates The staff loves stray dogs and some dogs also visit the reception area so one star deducted.

One of the best experiences in a hostel so far. The staff is very friendly and takes keen interest in activities and sight seeing. The dorms were clean and hygienic. The bathroom was big and clean. Thursday night family dinners are a must to attend.

Loved the ambience here, they also offered us food and granted us permission to go in the kitchen and told us "you can take some food if you want and we are a family here" great hospitality.

Friendly staff. Clean dorm and washroom. Near Laxman jhoola. There is some activity every day. Free dinner on Wednesday followed by Jaming session. Very cheap if you book early.

Super friendly team, with a family vibe, and very efficient everytime we needed something arranged. They also offer nice daily activities, among which we really appreciated their Ganga Aarti night. We loved our double bedroom, simple but homey. Overall a great stay, we definitely recommend!

Amazingly friendly staff, nice hostel, beautiful town on the banks of Mother Ganga and the place to be if you are a yogi! Free chai, free water refills, nice activities every day some of which are free or against a donation. Enjoyed my stay very much, hope to be back!

Social and friendly staff. Good value for money. They also provided help with booking trains and buses. Interesting tours and daily activities. Would return here if staying in Rishikesh.

A cozy place to stay. Cordial staff. Lot of eating options and cafes around.

It is right in the center of Laxman Jhula. I stayed at the dorm on the first floor where the front desk is. That dorm room should not be rented out. There is not a single window for clean air or daylight. It smells moldy and you cannot close the door shut. The front desk staff (mostly guys) feel free to walk in and out of the room whenever they feel like it for random stuff; to use the bathroom — even though there is one right outside the room for their use-, to fix their hair in the mirror inside the room, or just to walk-in and out because they can do so. They wouldn’t care if somebody’s sleeping and the lights were off. They would walk-in, turn the lights on, do whatever and leave. Cut my stay short and moved to another place. Not going back.

Everyone at the hostel is so friendly. There is donation based yoga morning & afternoon & different events every night. Bollywood class on Saturday is a must. I was sick & they took me to the hospital. A great place to hang out when you dont want to go to a cafe. Free chai & water.

I enjoyed my stay in Rishikesh so much at Shiv Shakti. The area is full of restaurants, shops and yoga schools. The hostel is located in a central area. I've been staying in a dormitory and it was perfect. What I really appreciate a lot and will make me come back to Rishikesh, at this place, is the staff! Super friendly and lovely people, always available for any kind of enquiries. They are very well organized and they really care about the people spending their holidays at the hostal. Several activities are planned throughout the week (Bollywood dance classes, Rafting along the Ganges, sunrise visit to the temple, etc…) I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING YOU SOON!

Overall very good. Slightly more expensive than similar hostels but the environment is awesome.

Great people, great rooms if you are on a tight budget and the staff is good plus the rooftop where you can smoke and drink and chill out.

I love this place! So easy to meet people here. The beds have curtains for privacy and it's right by the footbridge and the temple. The staff is so fun and helpful too!

Great rishikesh hostel. Near by River ganga, The Bridge, ashrans, market… Good quality hostel. I Like it and recomendo for everyone!

Comfortable and cozy stay place. Well located near to Laxman Zula. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. :)

A discreet yet homely hostel. The staff are friendly and helpful. Shops and restaurants are easily accessible from the hostel. We stayed in a double bed room. The amenities include a private balcony, an attached bathroom, a day bed to chill on and a comfy bed. Only qualm would be finding its location. Easily walked passed an alleyway that leads to the hostel. Its signage is mixed with other signboards on a telephone pole. For anyone needing landmarks, the alleyway you want is next to an astrology shop and right opposite it is a money changer. That aside, would definitely come back to Shiv Shakti Hostel. Thank you guys :)

We made a reservation a month before all paid for New Year's Eve, three nights. When we got there we realized that the room was busy and they had no more squares. Before that we were stoned, as we had written several messages with the idea that this would not happen. However they offered us two alternatives, being the second one more according to our taste. I have to say that the person in charge was always very kind, nice and friendly. In the end we were very happy about the place. We recommend it for the people who work.

Close to perfect. Stay here and you'll feel like home; you won't feel like going away from here. Location wise it is in a great location since all cafe's and ghat is close within a walking distance. I came here twice — last year and this year in April — and I can surely say that it's becoming great, day by day. This time I stayed in dormitory, which was a new experience for me. Because of this, I was able to meet people from different countries and there was even a common room where we conversed freely. I loved the atmosphere and I am sure, if you go there, you will too. If you're in Rishikesh, then don't second guess; just go for Shiv Shakti. And thanks to wonderful guy Nitin and his friendly staff, for everything.

Best Place to stay in Rishikesh. Right in d middle of d town. Neat & clean rooms nd washroom. Helpful support staff. Nice view of the river nd mountains from d rooms. And d owner. Its hard to find a person like Nitin who can be very helpful no matter what time of d day u ask for him. Kudos dude! U rock!. Its just home away from home Will stay here whenever I visit \m/

Amazing xperience staying at Shiv Shakti Guesthouse managed by Nitin and team, I must say these guys are doing some fab work from arranging rafting to trek to travelling vehicles etc and Nitin, I would call him a free rishikesh encyclopedia. Shiv Shakti is one-stop travelling tool. Highly Recommend.

Its the place where u will hav the best time of ur life. I went there with my whole friend group and we enjoyed a lot. We were helped and accompanied by NITIN bhaiyaa in every adventures from organising to execution ; if he would not have been with us, the trip would have gone upside down … the hotel has best of scenic views and is situated near market so roaming is too easy … JUST LOVED IT and BHAIYAA u too.
