DO NOT STAY HERE! This guest house was the worst experience we had in India hands-down. If you plan on taking a hot shower or using electricity stay somewhere else! I would advise all travels to take this review seriously and would strongly discourage anyone from staying here. The hotel runs its electricity on two parallel circuits. One is for the hotel office and overhead lights and the other is strictly for the guest rooms (electrical outlets, AC units, and water heaters). They purposely shut the power off to the guest rooms at prescribed times during the day in order to save on cost. Big, big issue here for two reasons: 1. The power was hardly ever on when we were in the room which meant our digital cameras, phones, and computers couldn't charge. While on vacation it's really nice to be able use these devices… 2. There was never hot water when we needed it because the circuit running the water heater was connected to the circuit they cut most of the time. We found it absolutely disgusting that the manager of the hotel blamed the power on the city grid going down ever day. The hotel uses an industrial generator on the second floor that they run when they decide to give the guests power. You will notice that while you have no power the hotel manager is in his office blaring his stereo while he's telling you the city cut power. Unethical behavior in the service industry is completely uncalled for. Furthermore all the computers in the hotel lobby work while the power to all the rooms is cut. They charge for use of these computers so it would be a bad business decision for them to put them on the circuit that gets cut. Rest assured power would not work to those computers most of the time if they didn't generate money for the hotel. As if no power and hot water wasn't enough the place was dirty and was really hard to get to. When the power does come on it's compliments of the industrial-sized generator which is right behind all the rooms and very loud.
