Gangānagar, also known as Sri Ganganagar, is a vibrant city located in the northwestern state of Rajasthan, in the North Zone of India. Situated on the banks of the river Ghaggar-Hakra, it is the northernmost city of Rajasthan and shares its border with Punjab, making it a culturally diverse and historically significant region. The city of Gangānagar is named after Maharaja Ganga Singh, the former ruler of Bikaner, who played a pivotal role in the development of the area. It was established in the early 20th century as an agricultural colony, with the aim of transforming the arid desert land into a fertile region. Today, Gangānagar is known as the "Food Basket of Rajasthan" due to its extensive agricultural production.
