Review of New Aegli Resort Hotel 4*

Hi and hope this helps. I stayed here in September 2015 with my sister and we lovvvved it! The rooms are a high standard as is the rest of the hotel. Christina on reception was outstanding. Nothing was a trouble to her. One of the night staff, a middle aged lady was not so nice, she told me the bar was closed as I wanted a soft drink. Anyway, long story short, she did get the said drink but with some reluctance. She wanted me gone from reception so she could "start her break! " The hotel is immaculate and the pool clean, you don't get sun on the pool in the evening which is a shame but still. The little beach is just over the road, cross further down the road for safety as the cars do come round a bend, not fast fast though. Our room was cleaned/tidied everyday. Beds changed every few days I think. The beach is beautiful and is in a bay, calm waters and clean. I only take my holidays in term time as I'm single so no problem with beach beds/towels etc. However, the Greeks won't put up with all that rubbish, if you leave your bed for 30 mins or more then your towel is folded and left to be collected. The bed given to someone who actually wants to lay on it. I had a bed by the waters edge everyday and it was so comfortable with the help of a topper. Bliss. Helped along also by the lovely beach waiter. The parasol has a bell attached and you ring, he comes, takes your order and returns with it. Brilliant. I hardly ever tip but I did to him, he was so pleasant and nothing was a trouble, easy on the eye too lol. The tavernas are all along the street and nothing is more than 15 mins even the harbour. A taxi to the harbour cost e 3.50 approx or walk it in less than 15 mins. The place, Poros, is frequented by the Greek people, whom I just have a great love for. This is not a touristy place but there are beautiful shops to look in, up the back streets at the harbour. Things on your door step from the hotel include, bars with live music, loads of places to eat or just drink, people are so laid back they just want you to enjoy your holiday and relax. Would I/we stay here again, hell yes! I'm going to book in for three weeks and I've arranged for friends to come out for some of this time too. One last thing. The prices (apart from one music bar) were exactly the same on the beach, in the hotel or out in a taverna. That's another reason I'll be back, very reasonable prices for everything, bordering on cheap. My age 52 although I'm taking my son out next year. Suitable for all ages providing you want to relax, sunbath etc, eat and drink amazing food and not be ripped offs sim in clear waters, go on long walks if you like to do this or hire a bike or moped and explore. Don't forget that you are on an island and boats leave daily to other islands for day trips so the your oyster. Hope this helps.
