The New Yorkers Hotel Hotel

Bad things: No soap in the bathroom, when I asked for soap they gave me a men's shampoo :-/ location is super noisy and lots of drunkards hang out there fridge in the apartment doesn't work well waited 30 min while checking out because there was no one at the reception, no point of calling on the phone because no one picks it up water in the wash basin was flowing extremely slowly, it takes ages to wash hands bathroom's drain was clogged Good things: quite cheap some good restaurants nearby.

Disaster! The whole Hotel stinks of the perspiration of an individual employee. In the bathroom, just washing up liquid to the hands (in the meantime, nothing more), to the flushing brown tracks were "" and from the Boiler in the shower, watch cable, and bare contacts. The window in our room could not be locked (the anchoring of the bolt was broken out), we were told we should be Broken not are to do in each room. The area is the worst corner we've seen in Greece.

For the moment is horrible maybe after the renovation it might be good.

My fiancé and I had a very pleasant experience while staying at this hotel! The owner (Mario) was great and very helpful, he even upgraded us to a bigger room upon check-in. After staying there two nights, we got to know the owner and he got to know us. While telling him stories of our trip, he found out that we had just gotten engaged 3 days prior to arriving in Athens, and offered us to stay another night free of charge as a gift from him to us! The hotel offers a shared bathroom for each floor (5-6 rooms), so keep this in mind (kinda like a hostel). The bathroom and the hotel in general was very clean and offered clean towels. The rooms also have a mini fridge, which for us was very handy. The front door of the hotel opens only with the hotel card or a key (both given to you) so it is very safe. It's very close to the metro (3 min. From Omonoia metro station) and about 10 minutes walking distance from Monastiraki square. Another things to keep in mind, the hotel is located in a street where you can find a lot of immigrants, but don't be so quick to judge just by the looks, they happened to be very nice and have some great and cheap restaurants and markets that would come in handy.

It did the job but would have preferred on suite toilet and showers.

I do not recommend strongly this hotel to be very surprising, staff absent for 3 days, building antiquated (but good Wi-Fi), murky area, but not expensive!

After my booking when I arrived to hotel and I shocked. Because hotel manager showed me different room than I booked. I booked deluxe room and manager showed me room that 1 meter to 1, 5 meters room and no toilet/bath etc. In fact not real room, just a hole with in the 3 walls. Keep away from this room and this street. Street was also awful, smells urine and everywhere homeless people.
