Review of Acropolis Ami Boutique Hotel 3*

Horrible place due to horrible inconsiderate staff, there was a problem with the room and they moved me, at check in, to a hotel on a busy street with lots of passing traffic with no view at all anywhere of the acropolis (which is why I booked this hotel). They never informed (they could have called or emailed) me they would have to move me so I couldnt make different arrangements. The other hotel had paint peeling off the walls, cracked windows, and a socket which came away from the wall when I pulled a plug out. The mattress topper was sold old you could make out body imprints throught the blankets. The worst thing was the bathroom. The shower head was green with mould, and the hose connecting in was filthy. The door into the shower compartment was tiny and I cut my head on it. When I called them back to explain this was not good enough they told me this was an upgrade (How bad must the ami boutique be). They said they could not get me anywhere else but offered me free drinks and use of the rooftop terrace. So I said no I was not traipsing acroos three busy roads everytime I wanted to go back to my room. I was told they would see if they could make alternate arrangements and call me back. Instead they cowardly faxed through a booking confirmation showing I had not booked an acropolis view Room. So I had to go back over there and ask to speak to the manager, who had no inerest in helping me. And again offered a few free drinks on the roof terrace 3 time he asked me what he could do and I told him each time he refused. Ignorant man who had no interest in sorting the issue. Agred it was their mistake but that was all they could do. I will never stay in any Best western hotel again. I was shocked at how badly I was treated. The temerity they had to call the place to an upgrade was gauling. A quick call when they realised they were overbooked befor hand and there would have been no issue. Also I was told there ws a technical fault with their system as reason 1 and then the same woman told me there was a technical fault in the room. I had spent my previous days walking around seeing all the sites of Athens, the reason I booked this hotel was becasue of the roof terrace a view which I could relax enjoy the sun and look out across the acropolis. Instead I spent the evening in a dark depressing room. If I could this place no stars I would.
