I do not recommend to anyone the hotel Domspatz! My boyfriend and I found dirty rooms with hair, pubic hair and dust EVERYWHERE, a soap used in the shower, the curtain did not touch the ground and in the morning all the light came in, blankets small and unsuitable for the winter season (during the night the room was so cold), orribile smells on the stairs, just two little towel, and much more… we asked at the reception (which is not even in the hotel but you have to go to another hotel) to clean the room and the next day anyone comes to clean our room. Do not stay at the domspatz hotel! The only positive thing is the position for the rest very bad!

We have to leave the Hotel early due to the disastrous circumstances. We travelled with 3 small children. After we enter the room, have we claimed it directly. No response from the Hotel, no Alternative. Money was withheld. No Gesture Of Goodwill. Hotel management did not want to speak with us. The only staff at the counter who works since 4 weeks, had no decision-making shaft.

I'd rather sleep under the bridge. The penners under the bridge can't rip me off any worse than this hotel disaster.

Located very close to the city centre, large rooms and friendly staff. A lot has changed since my last visit, but it was good to be back.

Hotel and room were a bit dated but otherwise okay. The key was rather heavy and had to be carried along due to the reception closing in the evening. The fan in the room was a welcome addition due to the hot weather.

Good location. Lift unavailable from 10 pm to 7 am. Rooms were clean and showers had lovely hot water. Reception staff were very kind.

A cozy little hotel. Benevolence and cleanliness.

It Is well located, close to the station. You can walk to the center and to the points of interest. The Room has the necessary amenities for a pleasant stay.

The room says no smoking but sure does smell that way. The shower was broken and the toilet would not flush properly. It smelled like dust. The people were kind, though.

A triple room was rented. In fact, the room was a double, and delivered some kind of a thing from the couch, the third person slept almost on the floor. No tea to drink. For such a haluku also in a small town paid too much. I do not advise.

A couple of friends was visiting and there for two days. The hotel is centrally located. The rooms are good and clean. Unfortunately, it is not possible to change the size. Breakfast is not possible because you have breakfast outside. The staff was unfortunately not on Zack.

Staff was friendly, room, bathroom and bedding were clean.
However, no hot water in the morning for showers and no reaction or apology from reception.
The furnishings are not only very old but also run down.
It needs to be refurbished urgently.

It might not be the best hotel I have ever been to, but the staff is really helpful and professional, the position is central and all for a nice cheap price.

Cheat when paying with a card! Double-write Money!

The location is great, the staff friendly but the rooms should be badly refurbished. Especially the spotty carpet does not go.

Close to the Dom and the carnival.

Good location, close to center and train station. But the hotel is dilapidated: The carpet is stained and torn, the tile of the bathroom is cracked, the frame of the door is rotten… etc. It's expensive for what it is!

Very centrally located. A few meters from the Cathedral. Rooms are clean and quite modern. Unfortunately, there is no real Breakfast. But for a/two nights ok. Happy again.

Catastrophic service, no responsiveness and unprofessional response to desired, unfortunately necessary, cancellation. For the price there are better hotels in the area!

Second experience at this hotel (the first in November 2015) which confirms the great central location within walking distance of the station and the beginning of the city centre.
The hotel remains very old, the structure itself does not shine for cleanliness and order, in the room there were some electrical outlets discovered with very visible wires (although I hope without current inside them). Too bad because it remains a structure exploited well below its own possibilities that it could offer.

For the return of an item left in the hotel room (ipad charger) I wanted to charge a "handling fee" of 18 euro (! ) in addition to 6, 90 euro Porto. Service is different!

We didn't like the hotel. The rooms and the bathroom were old, need renovation, way too small and although the heating day and night on 5 stood it was not warm. The breakfast was a joke. There were only croissants and jam. Nothing else. And the bar was not open for a minute. The price-performance ratio was completely unpleasant. We will not come back again and can not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Inexpensive and centrally. With associated underground parking in the side street.

Unfortunately, the room was no longer the latest. Carpeting was broken, a cold train came through the closed window, the cars were also heard outside, the TV did not even have the normal programs available after channel run. But not only that, the walls are so thin that I could hear the neighbor's couple loud and clear at night during certain activities. As a spontaneous solution for only one night it is okay, because the bed and the bathroom was clean. Otherwise I would not come again.

Very nice staff we will come back breakfast only to recommend quite great care by the breakfast Lady Great start to the day.

Good place to stay near the Dom and all by hand.

The hotel is a disaster!
I advise everyone who has a quiet night and wants to sleep from here to book a room. The walls are totally thin, apart from the fact that you can hear everything from the next room even the walls vibrate.
The elevator is totally narrow. The room doors look like if you had tried to break in, on the carpet you can see stains that resemble chewing gum and depressed cigarettes.
The suspension of the beds pushes in the back and the pillows are so thin that you could sleep without it.
The location and the staff at the reception which and served are good. Nevertheless, this does not save the horrible condition of the hotel room.

Put us in a smoking room when no smoking was requested. Disgusting hotel and stains everywhere. It was pretty freaking bad. Better places for same price or close to.

Not expensive (If you book it soon or catch good dates) and great location.

The old small hotel in the heart. Entourage of the last century, at the same time apparently was the last repair. Still very soulful.

The price is not equivalent to the quality of the facilities, it is more a pension than a hotel.

The room was clean, the bed linen was fresh and the bathroom was clean — albeit run down. Not as bad as expected… Reception only up to 22:00 am busy but friendly and uncomplicated.

Booking made via booking USD 1600 for 3 nights during fair Anuga website booking showing Hotel 3 * with beautiful photos. Arrives at the place big shock: carpeted room, no internet in the room only in the reception. No breakfast. More Perone has the reception from 22h to 07:00 with stop of the elevator. For the rooms of the 4th…! Morality no longer trust the site booking! and take into consideration the opinions of the users.

It should be my birthday present, 2 days in Cologne. The city is great. My girlfriend and I were very disappointed with the hotel. The website advertised with new, beautifully furnished rooms. We had a deluxe room. However, this was far from Deluxe.
The décor was outdated, the floor worn down and broken, the closet could no longer be locked, the bathroom too small, old and with shower curtain * irks *. A small TV next to the door, 4m from the bed, with little station selection.
Breakfast for 10 euros the next morning can also be saved. Never in life value. Cheapest products are pre-adulterated, old kellogs and muesli are left at the bottom of the container and new ones are sprinkled on top of it. Those who party there and are halfway sober seem to suffice, but to relax for one night and look forward to a great breakfast the other morning, in sober condition, unfortunately not.
I'm disappointed.
It may be that there are the great rooms, but they are awarded to the fastest.
The way: Whoever comes first paints first.
My girlfriend had booked there 2 months beforehand. When we had checked in from our shopping tour until half past 10 in the evening, we got the last room in the house. My girlfriend also wondered about the price of 50 euros per person, although there was more to pay when booking. No wonder why.

Stayed at the hotel for the third year in a row and really enjoyed it. Incredibly easy to reach from the station and a great central location to explore the city from. It has become my home away from home whenever Amphi festival is on and I'll definitely be back next year.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The apartment felt a bit like home away from home with plenty of space for sleeping, relaxing and eating in. Proximity to the central station and a lovely brew house as well. Would definitely stay again!

The room was nice and also in a part of the city which is very conveniently located to many prominent landmarks. The breakfast was also excellent and reasonably priced. Hotel staff were very patient and professional.

We had a perfect check in. Staff is very formal, super friendly and polite. We booked a superior room and during check in they upgraded us to an apartment (just opposite hotel). It was fantastic! So big! Lovely place! And location is perfect.

Very clean and comfortable.

The apartment was roomy and very close to the Dom Cathedral. However, we had no hot water at all, and trash was left behind from the last tenants in the bathroom and that was gross. We called the front desk the night before about the hot water problem and asked if there was some trick to using the hot water. The front desk said they would send a guy downstairs to look at the water problem but in the morning, we still did not have hot water. I would also not recommend going during the summer months. The apartment was very stuffy and warm. While most of older hotels in Germany do not use AC, this apartment didn't even have fans. Also, there is construction going on across from the apartments. Because the room was so warm, the window had to be opened all the way to let cool air in. At 6am, construction guys were moving metal paneling and no one could sleep from all the noise. The front desk asked how our stay was and their reply to no hot water was just "Thanks for letting us know". We still paid full price for the room. 2 stars are just for the apartment being roomy and the location to the Dom Cathedral and the centre. If you can handle the heat and no hot water and potential noise of construction going on, this hotel would be the perfect fit.

A second star for probably being the cheapest hotel around, but you get what you pay for.

Excellent hotel. The rooms are very clean. Excellent location, just a few steps from the cathedral. Very friendly staff. Without a doubt, one of the best choices.

Pretty basic hotel. It is cheaper compare to other hotels nearby. The surrounding is a little. Nothing much special.

It is a hotel that is worth not more than 100 Euros per night. It is understandable that when there is a show the prices of the hotels increase, but that this small hotel spend from 100 to more than 500 euros is amazing… I never hospedaria in this hotel at that price.

The room smells of tobacco. Once the booking is made on booking and with the guarantee of my credit card being the conditions to be paid in the hotel made me pay in advance giving the data of the credit card.

Excellent location with really helpful staff. Only downside is that the rooms are on the small side.

This is a basic hotel. You are paying for a bed and four walls. Its clean and safe, and very close to the cathedral and shopping area. If you just need a place to sleep for cheap, this is it.

Nothing too fancy, cheap. Spent a the better part of a week. Not in the nicest street (homeless sometimes stay in the road perpendicular) but otherwise was good.

It has us very well fallen in your Hotel. Easy to reach and in the near from the old town centre, Cathedral and train station.

Schlechtestes Hotel, das ich je erlebt hatte. Die Empfangsdame war sehr freundlich, doch das war's auch schon. Teppiche? Dreckig, abgenutzt und bestimmt 30 Jahre alt. Wände and Tapeten? Vergilbt and dreckig. Zimmer? So hellhörig, dass ich Geräusche des halben Hotels mitbekommen hatte. TV? Ich gucke kein TV, aber mein Laptop hat einen größere Bildschirm als die Röhre aus 1982, die dort rumsteht. Bett? Jugendherbergs-Niveau. Internet and WLAN? Kostet 3, 99 EUR pro Tag. Never again.

Very Good Hotel but it was a bit expensive on the weekend we went (I should highlight that all accommodation was expensive in the city that weekend) Very friendly staff and it is in a great location. A bit difficult to connect to the Wi-Fi on one or two occasions but when on, it worked perfectly. The beds were very comfortable and clean. There was complimentary water in the room both days. The bathroom and shower were simple but nice. The location is excellent, It is a 5 minute walk to the Central Station and Cathedral.

The room was nice and clean. Everyone was nice and especially the distance from the main station was about 5 minutes by walk. I would definitely choose this hotel again if I ever visit Cologne again. :).

Price-performance ratio in our case was unbeatable. 103€ for a night in the "luxury apartment" — 5 people very comfortably spend the night.

Recommended, privately owned Hotel with 1A location right by the Cathedral in the heart of Cologne's old town. Modern, refurbished rooms with a high level of comfort. Very nice Service and first-class Breakfast buffet with plenty of choice. Great Bar with an elegant Atmosphere and good selection of drinks and Snacks. Every day fresh fruit and water free. W-Lan for free in the whole house. For tourists and businessmen, this Hotel is perfect.

Very good breakfast and friendly stuff. Central location. But if you want warm water and room with heating, it's not the place. Stayed in winter month and there were neither hot water nor heating, no radiators or central heating system in the room. Summer blanket for winter month, I slept with my clothes on, hat and scarf included. Summery: Don't stay there at winter.

The Hotel location is fine, breakfast is fine too but those are the only positive things that stays at the back of my head. The hotel checkout is amazingly problematic, there is a huge mess which staff cannot organize anyhow. Can't fine the hotel as a vaulable place to stay considering balance between comfort and price. I would recommenr the hotel only for half of the price.

Too tiny space, especially bath room. Not easy to turn body inside. Overall, everything is gloomy. Furthermore, hotel clerk was a very temperamental person. I could not recommend to stay.

Nice looking hotel rooms, and the staff are very friendly. Great location, less than 5 minutes walking to the cathedral and shopping area. The bathroom, however, was very outdated, and a little dingy, and the bed was not comfortable.

In the short term on our Cycling tour, the weather stay in the Hotel. For the price, without Breakfast, everything ok. 44, 80 €. The wheels we could in the Park. Friendly and helpful staff. Domnähe, 5 min. Walk.

Great hotel nice and clean close to Cologne centre.

A little old-fashioned but in a very quiet area and it takes less than 5min. To the Dom, everything is in walking distance reachable.

Simply very dirty my girlfriend received an allergy on the skin so it was dirty degulase do not go.
