Beautiful atmosphere in the hotel, the rooms and the entire castle are lovingly furnished. You can see that someone has thought about it and there is a lot of passion in the building.
Breakfast extremely tasty.
All in all, one gets the impression that more is being offered than should be offered. Compared to other hotels, there is simply more love in the detail.
We're happy to come back.

At the beginning of September we spent a few lovely days of Hiking in the Harz mountains. Our accommodation, the Stecklenberg, castle, we can highly recommend it. Of the owner's family lovingly restored and operated, it meets all expectations. In addition to the spacious, very clean Suite, we had a large balcony with views of the super well-kept castle garden. The Breakfast buffet was great and left nothing to be desired. The places of interest in Thale, Blankenburg and Quedlingburg and also many beautiful Hiking trails in the surrounding area easily accessible. Thank you to family Pinnow.

Beautiful old building, restored with love and hard work. Beautiful large garden. But more for those who really want to have their peace and quiet. Not necessarily for younger people.

The castle is run as a family business with an incredible amount of attention to detail and cordial interaction with the guests.

Have made us feel very comfortable here over an extended weekend. Very nice ambience that suits the castle. The bathrooms are up-to-date. Breakfast buffet leaves nothing to be desired.
It would be very nice if you could still sit together at a bar in the evening.

This hotel was really cool! It was built in 1896, and has been well maintained. The breakfast spread was the best I have ever seen, and the employee serving breakfast was top notch. During the evening, a siren went off that sounded like an air raid alarm, but it turned out to be an alarm at the local fire department. It was somewhat unsettling, but I was glad to have that experience. As an American tourist, I've never known what it was like to live in fear of an airstrike, and being in former Communist occupied East Germany, I'm sure the older locals have had their share. Thank you for the great experience!

Beautifully situated Small Castle. Uncomplicated check-in, all very clean and, above all, very nice. You almost feel at home. Highly recommended. As a craftsman (roofer) I can only say hats off for this performance. The lord of the castle has restored everything himself.

I was there last year and it was magical. We had a huge room that was very comfortable and clean. Especially praise must be given to the excellent breakfast and the friendly support by the hosts! :)

Gorgeous! It is incredible what the owners have built up from a dilapidated ruin — who likes to see the before and after pictures on the homepage.
The room (tower room) was designed to match the castle, the bathroom an experience in and of itself.
The breakfast buffet did not leave any wishes open. All very fresh and delicious! Vegans, however, might get into some trouble here. But since the special wishes here are taken seriously, I can imagine that this too will not be a problem.

Small and romantic. The atmosphere is familial and not elitist. Only downside and relaxing at the same time: No 24-hour service. Lunch and dinner must be taken care of. But do not worry: in the neighbouring Thale there are some things and the delivery services in the vicinity also deliver to the castle;-)

A very pleasant short break, great hunting lodge, lovingly restored in the possession of a very nice family. It was our second visit and we will certainly be back.

Very nice accommodation with many years of history, which can be read in the rooms. We were upgraded to our room on the master suite and as you can see from the pictures, this was really a dream in terms of size and furnishings. The location is very quiet and invites you to take a walk in the summer. Breakfast was also very plentiful.

Sweet little Romantic Castle. Family atmosphere. The Tower room with free-standing bathtub & All-round view is beautiful. The food was very good & many attractions in the area.

The Schlosshotel Stecklenberg is beautifully located in the Harz, near Quedlinburg. Everything there was lovingly restored. In comfortable rooms you can spend a wonderful stay and the breakfast is a real treat. Nothing is missing here and the daughter of the House has an open ear for everything. We would love to come back.

The motto of the house is "sleep like the Counts" is taken seriously here. The room was very clean and the breakfast was very good.

Beautiful Hotel! The tower room is only recommended. Great breakfast and nice helpful owners/employees. We felt very comfortable. We went out in April and had a great deal. The location is also nice (5km from Thale CA), we would book it again!

Cosy, quiet and lovingly furnished rooms. Free Wi-Fi. A large castle garden invites you to relax. Friendly and helpful staff.
Ideal starting point for tourist destinations in the Harz (Wernigerode approx. 40min, witch's Dance Place 15min, Blankenburg 30min, Quedlinburg 20min) and for cycling tours (mountain riders start South in wonderfully long and demanding climbs, flat land Tyroleans reach the Harz cycle path in 2km and cycling away from the main roads via paved trails).
Breakfast varied, different coffee variations included.

A wonderful little castle, which is prepared with a lot of love for detail.
The reception is great, the staff are always super nice and help immediately.
The rooms are nicely decorated, the bathroom is classy.
Value for money is great!
Only the connection is not so good at the moment, because everywhere is built and diversions are signposted. But this has nothing to do with the hotel!

Rest and relaxation, elegance and a touch of decadence — my stay at the Castle felt short described.
On the fine details of guest is hosted at establishing respected, admirably.
Who is looking for a few days quiet undulating nature, for example, with incentives for walking or mountain biking, will refuel here more energy, than he ever could in any known tourist place.

Top holiday in a very nice hotel with super nice hosts, was always ready to make your stay as pleasant as possible for us. Thank you, we love to come back.

We were in this really interesting Castle for two days… very nice spacious clean room, new bathroom, super size of the TV… the new wellness zone in the basement (Jacuzzi, sauna, relaxation area) is really to the recover a.
The breakfast is rich and tasty… The friendliness of the staff is super.
It's really worth a visit. We certainly liked again!

Very lovingly run hotel. Breakfast is very rich and the surroundings are very quiet.

We had the pleasure of five nights in the large, spacious attic room to live in. Very nice stylish decor with a comfortable double bed. The entire "castle" is down to the last Detail, in a loving and well-groomed condition. Each evening, we enjoyed an excellent 3 course meal on the balcony. The entire staff is top-rehearsed, and very, very friendly and accommodating. Our evening Ritual was the glass of wine at the duck pond in the spacious Park. Our conclusion: a great spot to Relax and Feel at home — peace, nature and a welcoming atmosphere. We were certainly not the last Time in "Pinnows" castle.

We were in June 2014 for 2 nights with a dog and 2 children in the lovingly renovated hotel guest. The two rooms could be made about a corridor to a comfortable and large Suite size. The Breakfast (weather permitting on the terrace) and the Service in this family run Hotel were excellent. The Hotel is nestled in a small Park in a very quiet location. The location is an ideal base for walkers or cyclists, to the Bodetal, the devil's wall, or even towns like Quedlinburg (works by L. Feininger in the Museum) and Wernigerode to visit. In not so good weather, we recommend a visit to the Spa in the valley with the very nice sauna area. A Sauna is also in the castle. The price/performance ratio we found excellent. As a small additional tip: What I have on the menu after a long hike've missed, was a refreshing white wine from the region Saale Unstrut.

Two nights in November, the first night in a "family Suite" very well slept. Quiet and pleasant.

We spent a week in this nice castle and can only recommend it. Everything was to our satisfaction. Happy to be back.

We stayed for four nights with our two children in the castle housed. The staff have done everything to make our stay as pleasant as possible. Breakfast and dinner were always delicious. More can for a fair price, not demand. The castle is the ideal starting point for the many attractions in the vicinity. We will come again. Many Thanks.
