Good location but a little dated, however very cheap.

Noisy place, room that stinks of smoke, window that closes badly not ideal for a weekend in love.

Very good reception. Cleanliness of the rooms impeccable. Very well located, 100m Metro. Only the decoration is not at the top, that's why 4 stars instead of 5.

I give three stars for the staff, the subway near and the clean sheets. But pay attention to the smells in the rooms, their guests smoke inside the rooms and it's awful how it smells afterwards. I had to let the window open despite the low temperature outside otherwise couldnt breathe.

The guest who stayed in our room before smoked. So the room was smelling like cold smoke for the first night. Afterwards we changed the room. This was absolutely no problem and the hotel was very helpful. I think the hotel has a pretty good standard for Paris. Compared to other countries it is ok. In our second room there were also some holes in the bed sheets because of previous smokers. The area around the hotel is ok, but there are also some homeless people around. Metro is really close.

Worse hotel I have ever been to in Europe. Horrendous services rude moisture on the wall dirty and I really think it serve has a brothel as well. I do not recommend I will never ever go there ever again.

I am let down in this hotel over 4 days last month to pass the oral aggregation, therefore, in itself, a situation not necessarily very pleasant, which means that it is from the outset less patient and more critical of the reception in a hotel… But with the hotel Buttes Chaumont I was immediately very sensitive to the quality of the welcome of the staff as a whole. The room was clean and comfortable, the breakfast hearty, and the staff are always very welcoming and smiling, which is far from being the case in all hotels! One night, a neighbor's very noisy was called to order at about midnight, without that I need to intervene, by the manager of the hotel himself, which to me has that more is apologized the next day for the inconvenience. Just for the quality of service I would highly recommend this hotel!

Good hotel, good breakfast, although not is downtown is very well connected by metro to 20 mts from the hotel. Varied food venues and very close, to the side or front. Very nice neighborhood with the Buttes Chaumont Park a few blocks away and a canal which crosses Paris metres also. In few words very recommendable.

Super friendly staff. Make everything possible for you! Check ahead via email. Though tiny small Paris style elevator a little bit shocking at first.

PROS — Reasonably priced — Recently remodeled — Located right across the street from the Metro, with easy access to downtown — Lively neighborhood with minorities — Private underground parking available at 15 Euros/night, with only about 4 tight spaces, so you need to make a separate reservation — A personal safe where you can enter your own security code, large enough to fit a 15" laptop. The safes are located in a private closet right in front of the front desk for added protection and supervision. Since there are only 2 of them, you may want to make a reservation. — Free Wi-Fi — Flat-screen TV, with CNN being the only English speaking channel I noticed — Quiet rooms on the side facing the court, with comfortable beds — Strong air conditioning (but automatically shuts itself off after a few hours) — The best continental breakfast I have had in years — Heated mirror in the bathroom, so you can see yourself after taking a shower CONS — When arriving by car, there is no space to stop the vehicle and unload the luggage, so you need to stop the vehicle and block traffic, then go and park your car elsewhere — You need to carry your luggage from street level up a flight of 20 narrow steps to reach the reception area — There were two employees at the reception desk but none of them helped me unlock the parking gate, open the garage door, or carry my luggage from the basement up to the reception area.

Luxurious hotel in the light of all of the amenities that are offered… Very clean hotel, friendliness and kindness and professionalism of the staff… Not too expensive hotel for what… J will surely stay there again.

I have been here for six nights in Oct. 2013. Nice and clean hotel. Location is the most advantageous point. Staff helpful.

Stayed here 3 nights at end of Sept '13. Good bits: Location near Metro, Rooms were cleaned every day, Price, Staff were freindly and helpful. Bad Bits: Shabby, Minor problems with room. Noisy at night. The hotel served as a base to explore Paris, if you are looking for somewhere to relax and spend time then its probably not the place for you, but if you are out sightseeing during the day and sampling French cuisine in the evening then it is reasonably priced and comfortable, 2 minutes walk from Jaures Metro station. There are plenty of shops and Cafes nearby. The test of any place is would you return, and yes we would, as it offers good value for money and we could live with the bad bits. Also had relaxed smoking policy which is a deal breaker/maker for my wife! No problem leaving our bags at reception on departure day as our train didnt leave until 4pm. Canal 2 minutes walk away which made for nice walks. In terms of my comment about noise we live in a small village in rural East Yorkshire, so any noise is more than we are used to, the first two nights I slept well, the last night I was woken at 3.30am by shouting, however my wife slept through it.

I stayed in the Buttes Chaumont 2 years ago and the service was very good. The staff was very friendly and helpful all the time. We even left our suitcases at the reception after check out for the day because our train was leaving in the evening only. This year, 2013 I've just came back from Paris, from the same hotel, I found out that they've changed the management and that the service wasn't that good. We stayed there the last week of July. A part from the housekeeper lady, the receptionists seemed unhappy all the time. The hotel noisy and you can only close the doors of the rooms, if you slam them. In conclusion, we didn't rest properly because of the constant noise of the doors slamming and only one small towel each in the bathroom. And finally, when we asked at the end if we could leave our suitcases for the afternoon, they said " yes, no problem" but the other receptionist tried very hard to charge us 10 Euros with the excuse that " There is a crisis" and that " Nobody does anything for free". So at the end, very rude. In conclusion, we don't recommend it anymore.

Hotel great ratio quality / price. Officials are nice, the rooms are clean and well maintained, television is good and the beds are comfortable. I advice this hotel to anyone not having a big budget and wanting to still have something decent.

Good points are low price, its close to metro station (Jaurés), supermarket, mcdonald + there is lot of cafes near. In addition there is breakfast, classic bagette, butter, jam, cafe, tea, chocolate, milk… and eat as much as you want. Breakfast room is very little and sitting is not always comfortable, sometimes you simply have to move table a bit to be able to sit on chair, and when room is full there is almost no place for that room and bathroom is also very small. Its just place to spend night and take some shower, not to spend day in room. What was big dissapointment for me was big hole in ceiling which was only partially covered with some glued papers. This shouldn't really be like this. Fortunately it didn't influenced sleep or anything like that another negative thing of hotel is noise. Hotel is located next to quite big crossroad, on street with big traffic even at night. So forget about sleeping with opened window, noise is too bad. Even with closed window its far from ideal. Also when someone is talking (or in one cause shouting to phone) in hall you can hear it in room as if it would happen next to your ear. Sound isolation could be much improved. When people were in rooms I didn't noticed any disturbing noises, someone in previous reviews mentioned cigarette smoke. I also had this luck that room was smelling when I enetered it for first time. However we lefft winow opened for some time and smell disappeared, so its not real problem.
