Small room. No view. You have what you pay for. Anyway, the cleanliness could've been better. When we first arrived, the receptionist there told us that the hotel never has a room for 3 adults. We had to show our booking confirmation that clearly stated that there will be 3 adults, then he reluctantly gave us another room. Anyway it was a room which was not cleaned up, no bed sheet, no blanket. The shower area is not separated from the other part of the bathroom, so the water splashed everywhere. To make it worse, there is no water sink hole on that side so the water is all over the place. No elevator! It should be clearly mentioned that there's only an old and narrow elevator which only stops IN BETWEEN the floors, so if you have a lot of luggage, better be careful.

Location is fine, near the Metro Anvers. The room and bathroom are very small and breakfast is very very poor.

For 2 stars is a great hotel! Friendly and helpful staff, daily cleaning with a change of linen and towels, very warm and clean, the furniture is relatively new (the only thing that carpets would have to change already). And is located close to the main attractions. The staff was very friendly. :)

Excellent value for money, double room spacious and comfortable, the facilities are not luxurious but everything is functional and in good condition! I was delighted to find a catch right next to the bed (which unfortunately is not the case for all hotels with equivalent rates in Paris. ) and to enjoy a completely renovated bathroom, a little small but very functional and enjoyable. Attentive staff and reception open 24 hours (I made my check-in at 2:00 a. M. Without worry). I recommend for business and leisure travelers.

Disappointed, it is a hotel that has potential but it would need a serious refreshment. There is old carpet stained, dirty and a worn tapestry, torn… moreover it is indicated that it is soundproof, it is wrong! We hear neighbors talking, walking, showering and toilets. Very badly slept. The photos do not correspond to the reality alas, it is not very clean, dusty, disappointing. Nice staff and the bedding is OK but will not go back.

Very nice stay in this small hotel, well located. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff are friendly and attentive, especially the receiving. Good value for money.

Very small, sweet and clean hotel in a street with some bars. It will be on weekends with a window to the street but a bit louder if you run left or right you have a perfect metro connection to two different stations and lines. Those who want to have a French breakfast at the bakery or around the corner can take a cheap petit déjeuner. There is also a mini supermarket around the corner to make a small shopping trip.

No hot water to bath. Room Was clean and tidy.

Worst hotel experience, rude and unprofessional staff, small and dirty smelly rooms. Staff are not helpful and nice unless you are french!

Extra city tax collected upon arrival not mentioned and not included during booking to make it seem cheaper online. Close to one tourist attaction, and train stations. Hotel facing small alley, Carpet is stained. Shower do not have door, causing water to spill all over the toilet. To make it worse no sink hole for the water to go away, resulting in a flood. The hotel reception reply that the curtain should face inside the shower, and arranged to clean up the mess. So that alone made up for the rest of the shortcomings 3 stars.

Very small elevator. The Ladder is dangerous! But the hotel is very good, a very interesting area two steps from the cathedral and two steps from Moulin Rouge 3 blocks from the Metro!

What an adorable little gem of a hotel. After staying here during 2 different holidays (February 2009 and May 2016) I have decided that Hotel Gerando will be my lodging of choice for every visit I make to Paris. I'm really looking forward to visiting again next year with my son and fiancé since they have never been. My first stay was in a studio which is pure simplicity. Very small but has everything you need and is quite clean. My second stay I had a similar room but requested a larger one since I went with a friend and was upgraded immediately at no additional cost. That was so nice of the staff. They allowed for early check in as well as luggage holding after check out which was a tremendous help. The Wi-Fi was slightly spotty but worked nonetheless and the balcony was perfectly situated. I'd walk out to the balcony randomly whenever I took a break from the long walks just to sit and stare with a bottle of red. Nearby are some great places to eat, like Dunkerque (awesome breakfasts), a small Indian cafe (I forget the name) with very tasty and genuine flavors of India, La Panorama and Le Diplomate which both have amazing steaks. I think I had a steak everyday I was there. If you stay at Gerando, definitely eat at all of these places if you have a chance, they're only about 5 min walking distance each. Even better, there are 2 train stations (Anvers and Barbès — Rochechouart) within 10 min walking distance with the larger station being Barbès.

Good for its price. Location is great. No A/C. Elevator can hardly fit a person and a suitcase. No staff to help.

Room smelled like smoke, but we opened the window and it went away shortly after. Great view of the street below and decently sized rooms.

Average hotel! Pretty old, but the attendants are cool. I do not recommend the breakfast, it's only a bread and coffee and that's it.

Rooms are very noisy — very thin walls — we could hear the guy next door snoring. Very loud elevator. Shabby decor with water stained ceiling and thread bare duvet. Shower leaked water all over the floor. The window had to stay open so the room didn't over heat. Very rude and loud neighbors in the courtyard.

Great option if you're on a tight budget. It's small (but all are small in Paris if you're paying 60 Euros). Good hot shower, superb Wi-Fi included (many charge for it) ; the front desk was very helpful, not too noisy and a great location near the Sacré-Cœur Basilica. Best bang for your money. I stayed there at the end of July 2014 for a few days and it got a little hot in the room but bearable. I don;t know how May or June would be. To buy a fan would be a good idea. Or perhaps they provide it, anyways, I did not need one but was on the edge of asking or buying one ;-).

When my wife and I flew to Paris, stayed in Gerando. Small cozy rooms, continental Breakfast, polite staff. Walk 5 min to Montmartre, 15 to Grand Opera, 30 to the Louvre, and the Eiffel walking for about an hour. Very convenient location. Next to a lot of useful shops, including vinyl records and fantsuzski wines. For economy class.

Very nice place — Quite near to the Garde de Nord station (well 15 minutes walk to be fair bit near enough) Very friendly reception happy to communicate in English and very welcoming. I took a single room which had 2 single beds and the room was clean throughout with all electrical appliances in working order. Fri Wi-Fi which was a must for me to allow planning of the rest of my journey.

Dirty and worn out rooms. Staff was unfriendly and behaved like they don't care about their customers at all. Their card reader didn't work so they sent us to ATM for cash. Breakfast consisted of bread, croissant, jam, butter, juice and a hot drink.

Montmartre is the heart and the poetry of Paris and… the hotel Gérando it is a worthy and beautiful frame: I have been there 21 to 22 January 2015… and had a great time …

Were here in August 2014. The hotel is small, cozy, the staff is very responsive. If you go to Paris then stop here! metro 2 minute walk, which is very convenient. Breakfast served daily: croissants, brioche, freshly squeezed orange juice and choice of tea, coffee, hot chocolate. Two of the stars expected the worst, but this hotel persuaded me in this case) in the room are cleaned every day by the way, so I advise this hotel.

We stayed here for a week. Great service and good sized room for the price. The location is excellent. Will love to stay again.

Went for 4 nights in Feb 2013. It was my first time in Paris. Good location — close to a Metro stop for travelling further into Paris. Situated close to Sacre Coeur and Moulin Rouge. Room was small but nicely decorated and suited two of us well. Nice view onto the Parisian streets too. As far as I know, breakfast is available but I did not avail of it. Intend to return in 2014.

Was there in 2006. The room is so small that when you enter is spotykaeš′sâ on the bed and asleep) but we spent there only a small part of the night. So perfectly saved.

The rooms are very small! When I say very small, it means VERY LITTLE! In General less I have not seen. Decided to save money and received! But if you use the hotel exclusively to sleep, you can. Bathroom is an exaggeration. Rather, bath closet :-) so narrow that would be on the toilet need to sit a little away from the sink to avoid! But we are not worried and were in the room solely to sleep. Breakfast continentally = coffee+croissant! We bought groceries at the supermarket (which is on the same street) and in the evening they had a feast with shrimp and wine in the room! In General more optimistic.

Been to this hotel. Rooms small but quite cozy, fridge in room no. Breakfasts can safely ignore for about anything. Nearby there are shops where you can buy any breakfast snack and water. Let's assume, for which you come to Paris — if for comfort, feel free to take the hotel (or go to Turkey/Egypt:) if you are going to spend all day in the town and excursions, you can choose Gérando 2*! Accommodation there can be good, if the Windows of the rooms face the courtyard and better upper floors, then silence you. If the Windows overlooking the street, can be noisy, while the quiet street.
