Great location. Friendly staff who treats you as royalty. Nice and clean room and bathroom. Good breakfast.

The rooms are clean and comfy, yet a little small. There is only one staff stationed in the hotel at night time, but he is enthusiastic and helpful.

From the moment we walked in the staff was was very nice and very helpful. The rooms were clean I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone going to Paris.

The noise insulation of the rooms and from the aisle is very bad. In my reservation I asked for a quiet room. In this aspect the room 506 is very bad. And it was beside of a lobby room.

Chic elegant great service. They lend you a smart phone for your stay for free. Also unlimited Wi-Fi devices.

It is on a narrow street but next to two big avenues. Just the building opposite is of works so there is some noise from the 7h. The room is very good and the deal is quite right. The bed is comfortable, the curtains cover the light, and the bathroom is fine, especially the shower. The bedside table there is a little too narrow, in fact to work with the computer I have set aside. As for the food, I ordered a rice and I came it is a glass jar. I don't mean it was bad, but in the end it's prepared food that reheats. Although I also asked for a deliveroo and it worked very well.

Friendly staff, very helpful. Modern rooms, comfortable beds. We had a great stay. We recommend it!

Overall we had a lovely stay. It was everything we needed the hotel to be and the staff were very friendly. However the lift sometimes took a while to arrive and it would have been nice to have facilities to make tea and coffee in the room. Also the wardrobe was quite small with limited coat hangers. Most of the wardrobe was taken up by the mini bar.

Deluxe Room with a view of a wall, no full-foot mirror (convenient to prepare, only the small of the bathroom), capricious shower, noise of guests in the hallway as early as 8:00 a. M. And maid who vacuums in front of my room (well Equipped with the panel do Not Disturb) on Sunday morning at 10:15, mini bar half empty as soon as I arrived… and I pass…
The only positive point is the location…

The stay was great (good location, comfy beds, clean bathroom) until I checked out on Saturday Morning 2 Nov at 6am. Upon check-out, the bill was presented to me for signing and I had asked for the service staff to "give me a minute". He might not have understood what I said and prompted for me to sign again without asking me to clarify. To which I responded again, give me a minute. His response there after was not just shocking but utterly rude, he said in absolute displeasure, "speak slowly. Speak slowly. I am not your friend". I couldn't believe my ears so I clarified what he meant to which he replied with the same glare, yea I am not your friend so don't speak to me this way.

I have visited Paris many times but have had no experience greater than that at the Chess Hotel. Service, location, cleanliness, and management exceeded all expectations. I will be recommending this hotel to all my friends and family.

Everything was perfect, you have an incredible location, just please — improve on Wi-Fi connection easiness and elegance… :)

We had a really good stay, easy to check in) drop luggages, easy to access location, close to opera, and the room was confortable even if a bit humid due to the bathroom/lack of air.

Love the quirkiness of the hotel, great art design/paintings, good size quite rooms, great linen. Centrally located, easy to walk for sightseeing, shopping and dining out. Staff are friendly and informative. Make sure you find the central courtyard, it is amazing. Breakfast is excellent and the decor has a good calming feeling. Would stay again.

The TV sound coming from the bathroom was not turned down. This was the only problem of my room. Other things were perfect.

Great hotel. Smart, chic, comfy. Great location and price. The street entrance is kinda weird — just an intercom to a lift that takes you up a level. But great once you are inside.

Great central location, 5 minutes walk from the lovely La Fayette shopping galleries. A really super boutique hotel with great showers & helpful staff. Loved the free 4g phone in the room with preloaded tourist apps. Booked with Secret Escapes, who never disappoint with the great hotel's they choose to have on their portfolio. A charming Parisian address and very well located to discover Paris. The rooms are very well decorated and the bathroom we had made its effect. Nice mention for the TV which is of good quality compared to other hotels. To redo very quickly!

I usually stay at Le Marais at Julie & Jim, a boutique hotel I love but the time I stayed at the chess hotel was with people I needed to work and they stayed there

Great little boutique hotel! Great shower, nice breakfast, nice staff. If you want a true Paris experience don't miss this little gem. Walking distance to all the great landmarks and great restaurants. Not your typical US hotel, keep that in mind.

A great boutique hotel in a great location (Opera). No need for a fancy expensive hotel — this will suffice just fine.

Everything is very intelligent and very new, think think this is a very good hotel. Abnormal staff friendly and helpful. Small downside is: only one elevator can be stopped by a reception on the first floor, which means take the elevator to the upper floor had to wait a long time. Another problem is: the corridors kept playing Orchestra-why?! This corridor was uneasy, so people are bored in the bedroom. Stop playing that kind of music will improve my overall evaluation!

Beautiful refurb if you are after good value. The room is small but it doesn't matter the bathroom is great. But the best is the service. So friendly and helpful. It's a gem of a place.
