My daughter-in-law and I just returned from Paris where we spent a happy week at the Hotel de Varenne on the rue de Bourgogne. It was a lovely experience in a beautiful hotel with an excellent staff. We especially appreciated how helpful Ms. Beatrix was during our stay. I will certainly recommend it to my friends who will be traveling to Paris.

I can't possibly recommend this hotel enough. Everything about our stay was excellent. When I come back to Paris I will absolutely stay here. It's quiet, nicely appointed, spacious and the staff is friendly and helpful. The neighborhood is also perfect for a couple of family trip and close to everything. A++

I stayed at Hotel de Varenne twice last October and loved it. Great location, excellent staff and a lovely french breakfast. It is quite the hidden gem in the 7th.

The hotel was fantastic. After a busy day taking in the sights, the hotel was a perfect place to return to. Cosy, clean and most importantly very quiet. Staff was friendly. Shout out to Jerome who took great care of us. Recommended great restaurants and also made reservations for us. Oliver too, who ensured that our breakfast was on time as we had to start the day early. All in great stay out of 5/5 stars! … A picture taken with Jerome!

Very quaint little place. The staff is adorable and very accommodating. Rooms are small but comfortable and clean. Free Wi-Fi.

Tiny rooms but very nice staff. Big plus for the breakfast and the wonderful terrace.

I stayed there over1 year ago and I never got to review. My daughter and I had a wonderful time in Paris and this hotel was so pleasant. The staff in the morning and the wonderful man at night watched out for us. It was like staying at your favorite Aunt and uncles home. The rooms were smaller but we wanted that full French experience. And we were always out anyway. He Called cabs for us and made us feel comfortable. It’s right in the middle of everything. They have a nice Italian restaurant down the block, a bakery and small grocery store. We used all our euros we had left and bought all the French cookies for gifts. I had a wonderful tome in Paris and will return and use this hotel again we traveled last year July 15 to 22. Thank you again to the great staff of La Verene. See you in A few years!

From the moment you arrive in the quiet courtyard hidden in the heart of Paris there is a sense that this is going to be a special stay, and they do not disappoint. Paris can be overwhelming especially if one does not speak French, but the staff at the Hotel De Varenne has made it a haven for the international traveler. Everything you could need seems to have been thought of. The rooms are beautiful and guest services offered are extensive. We will absolutely be staying here again and I wanted to thank Stephen, Oliver, and the entire team at Hotel De Varenne for reinstating my faith that such wonderfully managed places do in fact still exist for the weary traveler.

A great find in the heart of Paris right around the corner from the Moulin Rouge. The roo. S are small but modern. They have a cafe area on the 2nd floor where breakfast is served, and you can get espresso all day and I stayed there for several hours when I had a project to get done and it was perfect place to work and people watch out the windows. The staff was very friendly and gave great advice on touring the city.

The service and staff are phenomenal, Olivier is very professional and accommodating as are all the staff.

Everything was great. Small, quaint hotel. No big chain so you see the staff cares. With the only exception being chambermaid would try to come in without knocking and construction next door at 9am using a chipping gun was so bad we could feel everything in the room vibrate. But it is located in the heart of the historic district and you can easily walk to all the attractions and great little restaurants close by. If not for those instances I would have given a 5th star.

Excellent, a beautiful little hotel tucked away on a side street with so much charictor, next door in a baker, grocery stores, galleries cafes and restaurants, the staff is very helpful ther rooms were, well Paris size but comfterble beds, sheets and very nice bathroom, on the con, breakfast was not worth 18 euros, but good.

Small hotel in the 7th arrondissement. The staff are very helpful and friendly. They will chat and give you advice on your stay. It's ideally located for sight seeing. Eiffel tower, Invalides and St Germain are walking distance. Quiet street. Rooms look onto an internal courtyard.

Great location, friendly & helpful staff and clean bedrooms at a very reasonable price! A few small quirks with the bathroom / shower room keep me from giving it the full 5 stars, but it deserves a 4.5 in my book.

We did our Europe trip and stayed at this hotel when we were in Paris. It was hop-skip-and-jump away from all the major attractions around the river. The staff were wonderful and were very different from the usual European service. They were courteous and extremely helpful. I would highly recommend this place. When I return again, I will definitely make another booking for this particular hotel. My family wants to thank Stefan and Oliver — highly professional individuals.

They treated us great! Very easy to go anywhere in Paris and there attention is great! Glad we stayed here.

Very central, within walking distance of the Eiffel Tower, Louvre, Place de la Concord, and Montparnase. Lovely multilingual staff, it is heavily frequented by anglophones who will appreciate large-enough beds, private baths, and the quaint courtyard. Used to be Marshall Oudinot's favorite hangout! It has a good, if pricey, breakfast. Better croissants could be had two doors down for 1.2€.

Welcoming, friendly staff. Quiet neighbourhood. Clean, comfortable rooms. Close to tourist attractions and a metro station. Nice location for quiet evening walks. Not a lot of restaurants close by but many within a reasonable walking distance. My only complaint about the location is, though there are options, we couldn't find a nice, reasonably priced place for breakfast nearby.

If you love the Italian lifestyle then this hotel is perfect for you. It's entrance is in a narrow alley way and you would never expect it to be such a nice hotel. The rooms are very spacious with full accommodations, washing machine, dishwasher, bathroom, and full kitchen and dinning area. The Domed ceiling is very interesting and we were told that our room used to be a velvet shop.

Cozy hotel. Pleasant staff. Just to avoid room 16 which is right above the sliding door and making noise. Breakfast is a little expensive. Even if the products are of quality. An extra fruit or cake!.

Upgraded to 157 euros instead of 350 room. Small room, beds very average, with a medium box and the impression of being in a bowl. I found expensive room compared to the quality, but to 350 euros, it's ridiculous. Breakfast at 11 euros per person is a pathetic scam for a 4 stars. 2 growing mini frozen, and the wand all accompanied by a squeezed orange juice. Everything else in addition.

Brilliant central location, very close to the National Assembly and many good restaurants, and very helpful staff. Despite the location, the room was pretty quiet. Unfortunately it was also very small with an odour from the toilet and also from the fridge, which put us off slightly.

The Hotel De Varenne is in a very convenient location (near the Metro station and not far from shops/attractions) and on a road with good restaurants and an excellent bakery just a few doors down. Staff were immensely friendly and helpful. The room, while functional, was in need of redecorating, it had a smell that no amount of cleaning would eliminate. Not sure I'd stay here again.

Our stay at the Hotel de Varenne was true to the expectations suggested by the previous 165 excellent reviews. The location was pleasant and so convenient to the Musee' Rodin, as well as the rest of Paris with the Metro just around the corner. Breakfasts were delicious, easy and relaxed. The small elevator was always ready and at your service. The room was spacious, clean and very comfortable, especially the bed and the bathroom. The gentle sounds of the neighborhood came in through open windows, and hushed to silence when closed. The AC worked though our four summer days were pretty cool. Key for us was the complimentary internet; just ask for a 24-hour key card. And they like for you to leave your room key at the front desk when you go out. Overall, an excellent value, and a lovely first time in Paris. Merci'.
