Very nice staff, well located, I would recommend it

Sam P.

Small rooms but friendly and helpful saff. Quiet rooms. Good clean place. Air condition in the room was very good and it was a life saver in the hot and humid night.

Beautifully done cozy rooms with a nice bottle of wine just waiting for u. We had european style adjoining rooms across the hall which was perfect for our family.

At 100 m from Bastille Square, in a small perpendicular, you will find the calm in the hotel and the room, as well as all the comforts around. Very clean and efficient home.

Clean, but unfortunately very small rooms where you can't even put a suitcase. Some things may also be refreshed.

Good value for money, very well placed

Hotel with warm old room, very clean, bottle of wine offered. Only downside on the relatively high price.

Very nice room, very clean.
Small flat for the mattress that would have to change.

Service was very good & rooms were spotless. It was great that the windows could be open to the street (no bugs) and when closed blocked out all outside noise. Hotel is on a one block street & quiet even on Saturday night. The breakfast was adequate & service was cheerful & helpful & friendly & of course the bread was exceptional. This is a charming small hotel & I would definitely recommend it. We took the recommended shuttle to airport & it was about the price of a taxi or ride share & took 3 times as long. That was the only hitch.

A hotel with great attention from reception to kitchen. Very collaborators. We were 2familias with 2 children from 2años and all were attentions so that our stay was sensational. Very clean rooms, great location. We hope to return soon. We really recommend it

Our room had a very comfortable bed, and looked charming, but there was only about 12" between the end of the bed and the wall, which made it very difficult to move around the room. The tiny niches on either side of the bed that served as nightstands were very small, and quite worn and scratched, which made them look dirty. Storage for clothing was adequate, but there was so little light in the room, even in the daylight, that we had to use the flashlights on our cell phones to find our clothing on the shelves. In fact, the lights were so dim that it was depressing to be in the room, so we avoided coming back before dinner, which we like to do, to get ready for the evening, because it was so dark and difficult to move around the crowded space. Bathroom storage was minimal, so anything left over had to go on top of the small desk, which ended up being completely covered. So it could not function as a desk. There was no room for suitcases anywhere, so we had to stack them on the ledge in front of the windows, which made the room even smaller and darker. Every day, no matter how hard we tried, we got water all over the floor from the shower. It was very hard to adjust the bracket for the showered, and the glass partition was not very large, so the floor was always wet. We did our best to dry it with our towels, which meant that we could no longer use them. This level of inconvenience really slowed us down: it took longer to get ready because the space was so small and cluttered.

I expected more. Too expensive

We stayed from Friday 8th leaving Sunday 10th. There was no hot water either day and the room wasn't cleaned nor the bed made on the Saturday. We like the hotel and have stayed before but you need to sort this out.

Was good for what I wanted — a base. It is quite basic but worker really well for me.

We chose this hotel only because it had adjoining rooms and it was more convenient with our 2 Children. For the rest, everything remained in old STANDARDS. We had rooms 103 and 104. Shower curtain ineffective (i thought it no longer existed this kind of service), "wobbly" mixer, Squeaky Doors. Decoration of another Time. Ultra Basic Breakfast for a 3 star (strong smell of cigarette emanating from the entrance, nice with children! ). The Campaniles and other Ibis are doing much better for less. And finally, a deplorable reception on the first day. We waited 20 minutes in front of the hotel because the door was closed with a small sign "i'll be back in a few minutes". We arrived in the morning, we were told that the "Check-in" was done at 14:00 and not before. We were given the keys to the luggage and we managed. No help or empathy on the part of our Host. Anyway, There's nothing professional about it. The only good thing is the location but you include it, for €1200 the 4 nights we will not return!

Very pleasantly surprised

Great location, because of proximity to Metro, and many places of interest. Easy to get to Notre Dame, the Louvre et al. Room was rather small, Wi-Fi was useful though service intermittent. The best part was Eskinder, the day person at the Reception. Terrific man, extremely helpful. He made it all happen for us. Room rate wasn't bad, considering convenient location. Will certainly go back, with much hope for slightly better room!

Nice, quaint little hotel in a quiet neighorbood. The staff is very friendly and helpful and there are lots of good, small cafes and restaurants nearby. The hotel is also very close to the Bastille metro station, which made getting to anywhere from the hotel very simple. The only downsides really were that the rooms are rather small and did not seem to have air conditioning. All in all it was a good place to rest and unwind after spending the day out seeing the sights.

I've been very pleased with my stay at the Castex hotel. The reception was very nice, the room was pretty, decorated with taste, even though it was a bit small. A free bottle of wine was there, with glasses and a bottle opener, and there were also a kettle and 2 mugs. There was an empty fridge too. The only thing that was a bit annoying is that the bed was sliding on the ground when you rested your back on the wall, so we had to get up to push it back very often. The Wifi was great, well above my expectations. I would definitely come back.

Very welcoming staff and very clean, albeit small rooms. Overall, always a positive experience to stay there.

Good location in the center of Paris, good reception and good services

Spencer S.

Started our stay with a warm welcome by the friendly staff. Not the fanciest modern design, but it felt kind of cozy. Bathroom is modern and clean, free bottle of red wine, extra pillow's, bed is large but not a boxspring. Great location to explore the city on foot or with the metro/subway.

Brigitte K.

Thank you for your warm welcome! A perfect location, charming and comfortable accommodation, smiling and super helpful staff! Will be back!

Sean P.

Warm and welcoming staff, great location.

Sam T.

Wonderful hotel! Excellent staff. Lovely, quiet room — larger room than expected in Paris. Location is good. Couldn't ask for more!

Jennifer W.

Great hotel, great location, wonderful breakfast, lovely staff. Couldn't be happier!

Jonny G.

Excellent service, lovely room, beautiful quarter. This is my new headquarters whenever I travel to Paris.

Jean-philippe P.

I recommend this hotel for its reception and breakfast.

Giuliano C.

Convenient location for visiting Paris, close to the metro. Room and bathroom clean.

Franck B.

Friendly efficient receptionist is good advice. Simply but stylishly decorated room. Price in relation to the provision. (only on booking).

David A.

I'm not sure why the other reviewer gave this place only one star. It is affordable and in the Marais district, which is a great place to stay in Paris. Our room was clean and comfortable. The staff was courteous. It may not be the most modern hotel, but everything works and high speed internet is free (which I've seen elsewhere) and we were given a free bottle of wine in our room (which is a first).
