It's the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. Bedding is dirty, furniture is severely damaged, the bathroom door doesn't exist… not to mention unadvertised construction rendered the staircase non existent and noise in the corridors extremely disturbing. The rooms look nothing like the photos, and the neighbourhood is just dismal. Do not stay here. (Sidenote — when we asked management if we could fill our small water bottle with the lobby water cooler, we were told it "was for breakfast only". ) Seriously — do not stay in this terrible terrible hotel.

Awful hotel! It's definitely the worst hotel I've ever been to or heard of. It's in construction, dirty, stairs are dangerous, bathrooms are in the middle of the stairway and really dirty. There's dirt from construction everywhere. Please stay away from this bad bad hotel.

Don't come here! / Venez pas ici! / ¡No vengas aquí! To sum up: Rude staff, old noisy building, expensive for what it is, small rooms. If you want more details: The rooms are different from the photos, way smaller and badly planned. The building is extremely old and chipping away. The breakfast is 9€ for ONE miserable croissant and some drink, go somewhere else to eat. You can hear everything from other rooms, and when someone was partying in one of the rooms at 2am, and the staff was informed, they weren't much help, and same when I asked for help because my door was way too hard to open, the guy there only treated me as if I was stupid and didn't know how to open their busted door. The only two good points is thats very close to the Metro and the Wi-Fi is decent.

Good location from the Metro, rooms Yes small, but their shower and toilet, cleaned every day with a change of towels, a soft comfortable bed just what you need after a day of walking. Breakfast is continental but these croissants…) ) ). Excellent value for money.

Very disappointed with our stay at this hotel! A hotel in works in the common areas so obliged to get into the room via the staircase full of gravas because Yes there is no elevator! Not cool when we're on the fifth floor! Broken shelf in the room, the soundproofing is non-existent we heard everything that was going on in the corridors as well as in the neighboring rooms, same for the external noises between cars, people screaming etc. Knowing that the hotel is located in beards, besides not top as location although there is the Metro to 2 steps and Montmartre next door! Also problem with hot water or it was almost impossible to take 2 showers without PB! Finally, luckily the staff were nice! I think they are overwhelmed by all these worries! In short, we will not recommend this hotel.

Not bad. The spiral staircases are endless. I hope you get lucky and touch on the first floor like me. The dangerous area.

Staying in the hotel room for tonight and tomorrow. Just got in after a long day travelling through Paris and the first thing I noticed in my room were little winged bugs crawling on the ground. Mould on the walls and dust all over the floor. I really shouldn't have… but I smelled the sheets. They smell awful and I am definitely not the first to be sleeping in them since they have been washed. Also, when we checked in earlier the concierge had us pay a 4 euro tax each. In hindsight I'm pretty sure that's a scam, as I've read other reviews of the hotel that said they paid 6. Not to mention the hallways are a disaster, as there seems to be serious renovations taking place. I am not happy at all.

Very friendly staff, very good breakfast, hallways and stairs in renovation at the time of our visit but correct room, open 24h/24h so no problems of closing time it was good.

The hotel was in the restaurant. The room was not so bad, but the passageways left a lot to be desired.

In bit of a dodgy area but staff were friendly and though the area is rough it's a great location for getting all over Paris. It was under renovation when we went but rooms were still comfortable. For the price and how much time we spent actually there, it was fine.

Booked the room nearly 4 weeks in advance for the boyfriends birthday but was informed later that day that my grandmother was going in for surgery on the date I had chosen and the outlook was not good. I had no idea about this. Called up to see if I could cancel but the staff member said no and there was no way he could reduce the amount despite the situation. They will fill that room within 4 weeks. It is not like they are losing money. I work as admin in the NHS getting shouted at daily and paid in peanuts so money is tight, now I am 300 quid down and can't give my partner the birthday he deserves.

Not as good as in the photos. Rooms too smal. Breakfast is todo much expensive for the things they present to you… Also, the walls are too thin, so you ear everything and everybody…

Ugly area, at night it looks dangerous.

Correct reception. This neighborhood sucks a little bit especially for women. Otherwise the rooms are well renovated. … remains the stairs and cacalir cage to renovate. The room are cozy and actually C noisy. Little be also because of the wooden staircase which I think will renovate. … There are three lights in the rooms. Think about putting a lower one. The three hurt their eyes in the middle of the night or in the morning.

The room was good, very clean and good shower and employees friendly and attentive. The sinks are small and they are out of the rooms, they are shared bathrooms. Views of the inner courtyard. There is No lift and there are 5 floors, if you touch on the top floor you get dizzy with the spiral staircases, but they are working to fix it. Very well located Site, next to the Metro stop and in the picturesque Montmartre district.

Rooms not very spacious but comfortable for those who have to spend only the night. It is not one of the best neighborhoods in Paris, but close to the hotel there are both buses and Metro, so it offers good possibilities for moving. Friendly staff. Availability to make breakfast in the hotel (never tried it). Hotel however recommended.

Very good stay at the hotel Nation Montmartre, value for money, it's top. I would highly recommend it.

Clean, nice comfortable room and located to MTS from the Gare du Nord station in the district of Montmartre, near the Sacre Cour. Good price and nice service. The only negative, no elevator…

What a little gem right in the heart of Barbes. I stayed here for a couple of weeks whilst changing apartment. They were ever so helpful and friendly. The rooms are well decorated and very cosy. The Wi-Fi works well most of the time. They clearly care about their hotel and this shows all throughout your stay. Book with confidence.

Hotel good bill compared to the neighborhood some details to be settled in room 207 for it to be top.

Located in one of the worst cartiers.
No soundproofing. I'm not even talking about the view. Very average comfort.

Room clean and in very good condition (except the trash can that should be replaced. Toilets in the staircase. Rather. Amazing. Don't be too broad. For the ones I used, the bezel is broken. Nothing fits. But hey, for a brief passage, it does.

Rooms we nice and updated and clean. Very close to main subway lines easy to get to all attractions. Toliet is in the hall on the stairs. Can be a little noisy at night.

Apart from unsatisfactory internet connectivity, the rooms are quite comfortable and the front desk person is quite friendly and hospitable.

Worse experience ever. Bought a 4 nights in their double "SUITE" and charged almost 400 euros. Bed broken in half, chair broken, stains of urine and blood on mattress and bed bugs dry excrements under the slat base, woke up with bed bugs bites and with broken back. Smell of urine through the staircase leading to rooms. Noisy all night with people using shared showers late at night, we checked out asking refund and manager was arrogant and said no refund and he doesn't care we will leave reviews and post disgusting photos we took online. Rather to loose money than spending one more minute of my life in this gross hotel.

Lovely hotel. Comfy private room and friendly staff overall. Great bang for buck. Easy to get literally anywhere in Paris. Forget the reviews on the area of Barbes: fun place with nice restaurants, bars, bistrots and shops. Do avoid some limited areas though. Supermarkets, bakeries, metros (Barbes plus closeby Anvers), Montmartre. Could be cleaner. Don't bring the kids. 1 day saw a difficult Wi-Fi connection.

Too noisy, even at the middle of night. People shout on the street just in front of the hotel. Wi fi does NOT work inside rooms. And the receptionists are clueless about anything you might need as help. Many of the times, there is no one to stop anyone to go to any room, so almost zero security.

Good location, no elevator! 5 floors.

Maybe for the price is fine however the area is outskirts… it scares.

Arrived in the room I asked the recepionist if they could go to clean it because very dirty so he decides to give another. The second above equal. I went to the disinfectant and I cleaned it myself. Good Customer service.

You do not have a private bathroom or elevator. The bed horrible. The hard mattress, old, sunk. Unfortunate.

First of all — the rather negative assessment does not result from the condition of the room. We had booked a triple room via expedia. De. The price went up. Then we had various "fees" (not only the tourists pay tax), about which there was no receipt. The Hotel took the discount the gave it back on the Internet again. So, there's a "rip-off", if I may say so. The Hotel itself — no reason to complain,
Location: Perfect location — three minutes to Mertro, good Bistro Vis-a-Vis, and ten minutes to the Sacré-Cœur de Montmartre. Rooms neat and clean. Service: reception 24 hours, Parking.

I have been here from 8th to 12 February. It was very bed experience in my life. Firstly they changed my room and given me on the top floor. Secondly it was treible that in the room there has lot of animals who bit you… the staff was very gentle. …

A frightening experience, when I got there they were painting the room and the bathroom was in the middle of the ladder. I would not recommend it for anything.

Never again. The Hotel is old and smells of drains fujjjj.

Good location right by the Metro Station. Close to the Sacre Coeur and of the arts district of Montmartre. The rooms with bathroom are very nicely decorated. Hotel staff very friendly! But unfortunately there is no lift and the Windows are not soundproof. In summary, it really is a great Hotel for a city break and is recommend.

Good overall. I stayed here in may '15 and the place has changed (reading the previous reviews) it offers very good Wi-Fi, at no extra cost, the shower is included in the room, however you do share a toilet with everyone on that floor, there's no elevator. So you have to walk up the stairs (bad if you have luggage and get the 4th floor) It's 50 meters from a metro station and very close to Gare de Nora as well. Overall a good experience. You're not paying Ritz Charlton, don't expect it.

Hotel being renovated, new rooms and well-appointed, friendly staff. The area is fairly quiet in the evening. Very close to metro station and buses for la tour Eiffel. Good price for the average Parisian.

We stayed one night in this small Parisian hotel, we are very satisfied with the benefits! Very clean, in renovation, the restored rooms are furnished and decorated with taste. Very good staff, very caring! We will come back if in Paris. Anne and Jade (Nantes).

The hotel may be placed in Paris, I find that the price of the House is not worth. We had booked in the day over the internet, and got there, we were warned that it was already taken while we were supposed to validate payment on-site. Local tax € 6 + having to add more to pay €2 more arriving. It's nothing but growing quickly for someone who takes more than a single night. The rooms are too basic, premises not really the best, it's the bare minimum a bit high priced admittedly. It's too bad yet, some rooms are property, but not all.

Very expensive and bad, has bugs, and do not open at night. Not staying there.

This semi hotel/hostel is getting better in terms of it's facilities and service. Very friendly staff that knows the local area very well and have excellent advice. Naturally very convenient location, about one station from the Gard du Nord for those who came to Paris via Eurostar or the like. It has improved since the last few reviews with free Wi-Fi, a couple more showers (haven't tried them yet), and a toilet on every level. For what it's worth compared to some other places, it is at least bearable to say the least. Looking on the bright side, from past reviews that I've read, it's getting better at least in comparison to a lot of the other reviews suggesting otherwise.

This absolutely horrible place. I complained that there was no Hot water in the shower so the night porter came up with me to the shower and turned on the "hot water". He said to em repeatedly "WHAT IS THIS", "WHAT IS THIS" he kept on shouting at me :) so I said thnx and he stormed of. FKEN IDIOTS the water was luke warm at best : (. Really bad exp but paris was great.

The WORST by far experience I've ever had (and I have travelled a lot, including 'third world' countries)! I would go so far as to say this is false advertising and a fraud. First, this is NOT a hotel. This is worse than any hostel I've ever been to. Our room had a MASSIVE bed bug infestation. It ended up costing hundred of dollars to treat and replace things. I had hundreds of bites! HUNDREDS! The room was disgusting. After figuring out that we had bed bugs we noticed that they had tired caulking around the floor boards, my guess as an attempt to 'treat' the room. There were bugs stuck in the caulking. We informed them of the massive infestation but I do not trust them to take care of it professionally. There was ONE shower for 48 rooms! That is not advertised! I never saw this shower cleaned. One morning I used my own razor to unclog the giant hairball blocking the shower drain. That is not only gross, but unsanitary. This place will give me nightmares for some time. It has changed the way I stay in hotels: ALWAYS read reviews, check the room over carefully when you arrive, and NEVER stay against your gut feeling.

I just returned from spending 5 days in Paris and everything has been great with the exception of this hotel. It is the worst thing that you can find in Paris: has private bathroom, television, or gel, no toilet, dirty rooms, the quilt for the bed with traces of semen (of course I keep not capped), without having washed anything in months, a single shower for all hotel (in the room only a dirty sink with hair and a bidet), we were on the top floor without elevator and stairs that looked like they were going to break at any time, the lock of room with the same technique from the pens of farmhouse, in an area where crime is common, dangerous area at the exit of the metro Barbes Rochechuart, the staff of the hotel we was more than half an hour waiting in the street to the one in the morning with the hotel's door closed and without open to us because it had been sleeping the receptionist. This hotel is not recommended, do not expect find you a hotel in a seedy guesthouse is a great disappointment pay €58 the night for this shit of pension. The only thing positive from this Board sack is that I was lucky to catch crabs because neither the towels and sheets washing them.

I could not recommend this hotel to anyone! our sheets were dirty and torn, even when we asked for clean sheets they wer stil in terrible condition. We had to wait 3 hours for the shower key one evening. We never got any wake up call we asked for. All the springs in the bed were broken which made it very uncomfortable to sleep in. Also the area was quite rough. There was only one plug in the room in an unusual position above the sink light. I would never stay here again.

This hotel is without doubt the worse one that already I was in the World! It has only one shower for all rooms and the water can be hot or not. The bathroom are shared and very small and dirty Paris continues pretty although very expensive, but this hotel is terrivel.

That was fully in the pants. At the time of booking was US concealed that the hotel is a complete construction site. So virtually unlivable. The floors missed some quite so that it ran only on the floor. The rooms are not cleaned, instead, any insect killer sprayed, and the window closed nicely kept.
The furniture exceeds even the wording "bulky mature". Otherwise nothing was available except a shaky, with bed, and a "bedside".
The rooms have only a dirty, defective part washbasin and a bidet.
The "curtains" are taken in part from the rail, and staring from dirt. "Towels" that are offered are at best only as cleaning rags.
The "sanitary" are on the floor. When the toilet is missing throughout the spectacles, and are also very dirty. I've preferred it to do my necessaries in the Café opposite.
The hotel also offers no service. Cold drinks or coffee, forget it.
Only positive: the operator is nice, and be super sweet dog.

We arrived in the morning and realized that they were in the works. We think, well it's okay. Then we saw that the room was horrible: in short, it is very cheap. And finally ask where to where was the shower (we knew that the bathroom was shared) and it turned out that there was no such thing.
The worst thing was that we were as if the rare we were we need a shower. We were told "maybe last morning we have shower". In the end. Obviously we changed hotel, and the new shower had.
