Reviews of Jacobs Inn Dublin
Good location and ckean rooms.
Great base for exploring Dublin — 15 mins from Croke Park in one direction and 16 mins from Temple Bar in the other, clean, comfortable bed — great atmosphere and such friendly staff. I'll come back!
Very nice place. The pods are great. People were very respectful of the noise curfew from 11pm-8am. Staff very friendly and helpful. Really nice and generous all you can eat breakfast buffet for 10 euros. All in 50 euros to stay here in Central Dublin with a nice breakfast. Highly recommended.
Fantastic stay, clean and lovely rooms. Excellent staff very friendly and accommodating. Highly recommended.
Fantastic staff, good rooms with ensuite, very clean and tidy, strongly recommend. Thanks for your service guys.
Warm atmosphere and great welcome by Laura. Very friendly people working here. I was info a room for 4 persons and this was a wonderful clean room with enough space.
Nice and clean room, very nice common room and pub, shower is not so good. I can highly recommend.
An excellent experience and attentive staff despite my very limited English. I will definitely be back on my next visit! 😊
Bed is bit too hard and better pillows would be nice. But overall its a nice hostel. And lovely staff!
This is an amazing place to stay. It is kept clean, it is nicely decorated, the beds are very convenient, and above all, the staff is the most lovely. There are great options to eat in the restaurant.
I have been sick, and they took wonderfully care of me. I stayed confined in my room, while they kept bringing me breakfast, lunch and dinner, along with hot water so that I can make myself some tea. They regularly kept an eye on me, by taking my tempature. There is no trick at all here.
Highly recommend it, since it is not only a nice place but also a safe and comforting one.
Jacobs Inn is a hip hostel to stay in. With a full bar, comfortable beds and a private bathroom, it’s the best hostel I’ve stayed in in Europe so far. Located just a short walk (15 min) from temple bar district, it was easy to get around. There is also a bus that goes directly to the airport which was important for me. Stay here and you won’t be dissapointed.
I had a wonderfull 3-nights stay. I didn't knew what to expect, but I guessed it coudn't be worse than a festival tent in a camping.
It was indeed so much better! I felt safe and private in the pod, and had some good sleeps.
Only thing is, that a bench or chair in the room would be nice for taking on the shoes when youre not quite young any more.
I'll be back or sure.
Amazing place to stay in city centre. Cheap breakfast from €6. Friendly staff. Comfortable beds, good pillow n mattress. Warm n cozy environment in November.
Only positive things to say about Jacobs Inn. Friendly and helpful staff, great location for exploring the city and clean, comfortable rooms. Excellent value.
I stayed one week and it was an amazing experience. I never stayed in a hostel before. It was very clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and kind.
Stayed 4 nights in private pods. Was really nice place very relaxed n really clean x.
One of the best hostels you will find clean rooms relaxed atmosphere central an the staff are excellent go out of way help you.
It was my first trip traveling alone, and it has been awesome to stay here because i’ve met a lot of new friends in their free tour. The bed was very comfortable despite of i’m too tall. Lucia was so nice with me, she told me places to visit and pubs.
It’s close to temple zone and trinity college walking like 5-6 minutes.
If I go to Dublin again, this will be my hostel.
Pretty good overall. Beds are clean, which is the most important thing. Window in girls dorm can't be opened very far, so it does get warm in the room. Nice staff. Good, central location. Very close to rail station.
Definitely one of the best place to stay at in Dublin. The bed was really nice. (didn't make much noise and had a charging area just above your head. Plus a curtain for a bit of privacy) The breakfast wasn't amazing. The receptionists were all really nice and it's really secure, because they check everyone that comes in after 11pm. Great place!
The Pods were excellent: To have your own sockets (twice! and two usb! ), your privacy with a curtain and a small storage space as well as your own private light should be standard in every hostel in my opinion — which makes the pods almost a luxurious hostel option, which I would gladly recommend! The breakfast wasn't the best, fresh fruit would have been nice, but you don't go to a hostel to get good breakfast. The community room was very good, lots of space to chill or have a chat, charge your phone or play games with other people. I hadn't thought of the schools coming to hostels as well during the summer, so it was VERY noisy during breakfast and in the common rooms — but that's not the hostel's fault.
Easily one of the top hostels I have stayed at ever. Great service at the front desk, lots of security everywhere, tons of bathrooms. They have free breakfast in the mornings, it is centrally located so it's easy to get around the city, and it has a lot of recommendations at the front desk for things to do. Very decent price too, which is surprising for all of the perks you get while staying there.
Jacob's Inn gave us a good "base" while we explored Ireland. It wasn't fancy but it was safe and clean. The staff were fine and I liked how people of all sorts (and all ages! ) were welcome — from little ones to teens and couples to older people. Our room was comfortable and the breakfast gave us a good start to the day. It was a bit noisy at night, but hey, it's a hostel. We'd definitely stay again. Thank you to everyone who made it work for us! :)
My first hostel experience, so take this review in that light. I was surprised by the lack of toilets compared with the number of guests/beds. However, it was a very secure place… We counted 9 locked doors between the front door and our bed. And the staff was very helpful, though I wasn't always sure if they were actually hungover, or just joking about it. Shared space was comfortable and the lights and USB charging ports above every bed were very helpful. The cages available to lock our belongings in our room weren't the best (loud to open/close and small) but helpful to have. Overall, good location. I think I'd look around for a different place when back in Dublin, but I'm a bit high maintenance.
I really enjoyed my stay at Jacobs Inn in Dublin. The location is amazing! You are right in the centre but it isn't too loud at night, so you can still get your sleep! All the sights are close and you can get there by foot. Best thing about the Hostel is the roof terrace! (Beautiful sunsets! ) The room was really nice as well. You have curtains in front of your bed so you get your private space. They were really big as well. I stayed in a 8 bed dorm and it was actually really fun! (not as I expected). The stuff is really friendly as well, and can give you (sometimes) some really nice food recommendations. The only negative thing is that the hostel is quite expensive, but I think that comes with Dublin, which is a really expensive city anyways. Nevertheless I would definitely stay there again.
Great location for traveling through Dublin via Rail, bus, air. Nice, comfortable, and curtained beds for privacy. Good kitchen and dining area. Near grocery and other shopping. Easy-going, friendly staff. Sometimes a little noisy when groups of students were staying there.
Location next to bus stop is very convenient when getting around. Beds have a privacy curtain which is very nice. Sadly, the folks I encountered at front desk weren't terribly warm or outwardly friendly. Lot's of young kids when I stayed. But no issues with noise level. Overall clean and fair price.
Very clean friendly and dynamic hostel, well organized and convenient. Flexibility of the staff to my late arrival after some challenges in my travel. Nice crowd of folk in when I was there. Well organized breakfast. Will be back.
Decent enough place in a very good location, everything is in walking distance. The room (3-bed ensuite) was functional and clean. The level of comfort was okay, not overwhelming, but it is a hostel after all. The staff was very friendly and forthcoming! Breakfast is included, just don't expect a huge selection.
Very clean. But many school kids probably on a school trip. So it does not have the cool hostel vibe.
Love this hostel. This was my first stay in a hostel, and I couldn't have stayed in a more comfortable place. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful, the beds had all the amenities to charge my phone etc, AND came with a privacy curtain so I could have a light on without disturbing my neighbors. It was great meeting so many guests from so many different places and stages in their lives. A real treat.
Stay of 10. Hostel of 10. Friendly staff, large spaces and well-laid out. Room of 12 large with a large bathroom, cage under the bed and 2 plugs, 2 USB sockets and own light in each bed. Also, when you check out you can leave suitcases in a room with free cages. The room was very clean and the breakfast was very good. Refreshment machines and food distributed. Female and male showers in several floors, and common WC on the ground floor. Something that is appreciated, has an elevator. It shows a reformed place for the client, with great security.
Pretty standard accommodations for a hostel. There was free breakfast which was very nice. Lockers were provided in the rooms to secure your belongings and the beds have curtains. My stay here was nice except that on the last night I was there, their computer system messed up and put a new guest in my bed and I was forced to move to a new room. The staff was very nice about it but completely unhelpful and offered me nothing as consolation or anything. This also happened to another person who was staying in my room, he was also forced to move rooms for a night. I would hope they get this issue fixed at some point but as of now it seems fairly likely that this will happen.
For what it offers too expensive. Breakfast is very sparse (for the price). Toast, butter, jam, cereal.
We have paid for a double room with breakfast and for three nights €495. I would not book again.
Bathroom is good, bed uncomfortable but clean.
Good location Good atmosphere. It's not noisy. Very cosy area. Breakfast with very little variety, but sufficient. Ample kitchen available for all.
This hostel has reconciled me with hostels, a large kitchen is available with all the necessary (fridge, Pan, cutlery, …) You can even leave your errands safely.
Very clean and friendly staff. Unfortunately, the heaters in the rooms are not changeable, so you may freeze or sweat. The breakfast was not so special and the kitchen for the guests unfortunately had a very severe smell after vomit. Otherwise it was good. It would be advantageous, however, not to stay outside the hotel at night, as very shady characters run through the area. In the pub on the corner, Germans are greeted with shouts inspired by the German past between 1933 and 1945.
One of the best hostels, I ever found. Perfect location: 1 minute to the bus station, 10 minutes to the central street. Kind and helpful staff. Breakfast is simple, but there was a nutella! Clean and comfortable:)
Great hostel to stay at in Dublin! The rooms are very nice, and the newly renovated room is even nicer. It's located in close proximity to the river and the staff is friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again next time I'm in Dublin.
Clean. Very secure. Breakfast was meh but it was free so OK. Overnight staff are nice but super security minded. Same staff will ask you 3 times for your receipt. Every door and I mean every door had a swipe your card in slot and a switch to get out. Feels a bit like prison. But all in all a safe clean space. I can deal with strict security to feel safe. Staff is very helpful and kind.
Nice hostel in great location A bit poor cleaning.
Beds each have their own lights and power outlets for charging. Staff is mostly friendly (few slightly rude people). Location is amazing! Laundry is very expensive though. Otherwise one of the safer and cleaner hostels I've stayed in!
Totally recommended! Each bed has its curtain, individual lights and USB sockets. En-suite bathroom in the dormitory. Very clean and comfortable hostel. TV with Netflix is a plus! It was really cheap (60€ for 5 nights in a 12-bed dormitory)
Clean and with a lot of services. More than right breakfast to be a hostel.
Perfect for a weekend getaway. It is not a hotel but perfectly adequate.
The best hostel I've ever been to. Rooms are sufficiently clean, bunk beds with curtains for privacy, common kitchen equipped with fridge, freezer, stove, toaster and free breakfast. Daily free walking tour and pub crawl tour.
Booked a double bedroom and there was a double bed… with a single bunk bed attached. Staff at night time were also very rude, wasn't treated as a customer, and had to go through an interrogation to get back to my room after 2300 hours. The only good thing about it is it's location.
Cute hostel, clean, great location near the bus stop to the airport, very central. Breakfast is included and is very rich. The common environments are welcoming and always full of people. The staff is always friendly and always great advice on what to do and where to go. A late supermarket and a pub with live music are just a short walk away. Council.
Very nice and youthful, the staff is very helpful even with people who don't speak English. The rooms are nice and the breakfast adequate.
The hostel is super large, with many places in common like the kitchen, the dining room, and the living room, although it is according to the number of people that there are only you see it all together at peak times. The kitchen is equipped with everything you could possibly need. You have tablets available if you need them. Good breakfast. The spacious rooms, the beds with curtains, personal light, plugs and USB inputs, the impeccable bathrooms, you have where to store your luggage in case you arrive before check in or you leave after the check out. It has maintenance staff willing to do anything you need. And the people at the front desk, except a woman who treats all the people super bad, everyone else is excellent and super willing. I definitely recommend it and would go back. And according to people I met at the hostel who are living in Dublin we were told that is the best.
Delighted with the recommended experience%
Great hostel! Loved the USB ports in the headboard… Bathrooms super clean and fairly modern. Very secure building. A few pubs close by with reasonably priced pints. Would 100% go back if ever in Dublin again!
Nightstaff was aggressive with customers, RUNAWAY.
The night shift is aggressive with the customers, flee.
I enjoyed a lot my stay in Dublin. I liked Jacobs facilities, they have everything to make it safe, comfortable and convenient. Staff is friendly and there are zones to play and socialize, to get to know people, specially when travelling as a solo like me. Staff is friendly and helpful and the place is also very clean. Totally recomended.
10 minutes from the center, convenient and quiet location. The hostel is very clean and organized. Use the "cages" where to leave your luggage after checking out (remember a padlock! ) It is possible to bathe in the room for some rooms. Low prices compared to Dublin hotels. The staff were friendly and helpful. Instead of booking from Booking I booked directly with them by email. Recommended.
Jacobs Inn was a great place to stay in! I loved the common area as it was really huge. The beds were great and I loved the bed curtains which ensured privacy for me. The only possible downside may be that it is a little far from the bars as compared to the other hostels.
Acceptable. Nice deal. Very youthful atmosphere. Toast-based breakfast.
I really liked this hostel. The style and theme of the hostel was really appealing to the eye. I slept in a 12 bed bedroom and beside the noise that some people seem have it was great. The beds had curtains so it felt like you had some privacy. Free breakfast was included and the contents were really good. Eggs, bread, cereal, coffee for example is included. There is also games like big chessboard, pool table and other fun things to do beside the reception. The toilet in the hostel rooms was top notch with modern and luxury standard.
It's right in the middle. Clean. Good price and nice atmosphere.
For having has even laundry. You can iron and everything. Recommended.
Hostel clean, convenient and secure but the policy of reception by the staff for the people passing is miserable…
Backpacker for a week or more? Go your way. Cheers.
Inn looking more like a youth hostel. Very noisy. Poor ventilation and very hot. However, very well located, very clean.
Excellent when you compared it with other experiences in hostels. Clean and safe. Environment for travelers between 20 to 35 years. Well-equipped kitchen. Excellent Internet. Well-furnished and equipped social area. Attractive price.
Great, I had a really good day. The only bad thing is that from 9 to 10 they go to breakfast all and saturates the space. Got that, excellent all.
The hostel is good, has a modest breakfast and good facilities. Do not go if you want to rest as it is very difficult, almost always is full and people do not respect the sleep schedules.
This was my first hostel and a great experience. They provided linens, reasonable priced and in decent walking distance from most Dublin sight-seeing locations. The push button shower was a challenge but glad making efforts to conserve water. Breakfast was minimal with toast, cereal and fruit. Would suggest the hostel to invest in a reuseable water refilling station. I had to purchase water at local stores (also available in vending machines). Front desk sales bus tickets and excursions.
The establishment comes from a prison, with unfriendly guards and restrictions that bring such a prison stay with it;)
But seriously. It did not like us all 5 here and unfortunately we had many problems with the staff. You are looking for a place to stay, such as a cosy break room. We can't recommend it.
A very youthful atmosphere, the dorm rooms are clean.
There are metal boxes under the bed to put your suitcases on and you can buy padlock to low at reception.
The beds are upgradeable even that not horrible!
Good rooms. I had a double bed which surprised me! There were storage lockers to keep your stuff in, which I appreciated. There was a nice lounge area and a decent breakfast. Lots of tours meet at the hostel so it's great for sight seeing.
I wish I'd found this place the first time I stayed in Dublin! My stay was brief, but it was just about anything anyone could ask for in a hostel. Awesome staff, clean rooms and showers, and best of all, lots of space. The one major downside was the 10s push-style shower control. These have become a rather annoying method of trying to conserve water.
The place is really basic: just a place to sleep. Our room had a bathroom in room, which was good, but I would have expected something better in terms of cleanliness (wet floor and hair all around). The breakfast offers 2 very simple choices: cereals and toasts. That's it. Probably good for what you pay, but I'd better pay more next time in town.
Excellent hostel, super professional and clean facilities. The rooms are very spacious, each bed with its own reading light, outlets, USB plugs, and a curtain for privacy. The pillows are not the best, but not horrible. The bathroom is quite nice and tidy as well, the only negative there being the timed shower that shuts off every 20 seconds (and there are no hand towels or paper towels, but that seems to be fairly standard in hostels). The whole building is very secure, with almost every door being locked by key card. The kitchen is very large with many stations, but the dishes and pots/pans are fairly old and warped, and while we were there there was always a faint unpleasant smell in the kitchen. The walking tour is very thorough and is led by a very engaging group of guides. The only reason this gets 4 stars is because of the kitchen tools, and because the whole experience was a bit more "hotel-y" than what I'd hoped (ie. Although the front desk workers were very nice, I never felt they went above and beyond in friendliness and/or helpfulness like I've had other hostel workers do). But, that also might be what you prefer! Overall a seamless, enjoyable experience.
Great service, breakfast without specialties.
In my opinion, Jacob’s Inn is the best place where you can spend time in a nice and welcoming ambience. The rooms are clean and tidy, the bathrooms are very clean and comfortable, too. At the Jacob’s, singles act very politely while, on the other hand, groups are rowdier. However, the hostel has enough spaces for gaming, eating, watching TV and relaxing. If you don’t like the nice music you can go to the canteen where you can relax and even work quietly. Moreover, guys at the reception are very welcoming and nice as you can ask them whatever you may need and they will be available to help as they can. All areas are equipped with USB ports and outlets to charge your cell phone. Don’t you have the adaptor? No problem, you can ask them and they will provide what you need. Also, I loved the terrace where you can relax watching the city from a different point of view. They also organize tours on the island and have a lot of discounts to visit museums in the town. After staying there for almost nine days, what I can say is that the Jacob’s Inn is one of the best hostels of Dublin and I definitely cannot wait to come back!
Clean rooms, private curtains on the bunk beds. Friendly staff, private lockers and nice hot showers. Open common areas to enjoy any time. Secure and safe, city center.
The first hostel I've stayed in and was worried about how different the would be from a hotel. But it was a great experience. Rooms were clean and we had our own bathroom in the room. Hotel staff were also very accommodating and the location is superb.
Very good report quality price. Ideal for sleeping in Dublin, close to transport, 10 minutes walk from temple bar. Quality bedding, with a small curtain, 2 usb plugs, individual. Very clean hotel. Large walk-in shower. Breakfast correct. I will return with pleasure. Attention railway line to 100m.
One of the best Hostel in Dublin. Guys must try it out, you won't regret, whole staff is so helpful and its location is in the downtown! They provide awesome city guided tours and don't forget to try Pub crawl (my fav)
Very good and clean Hostel. Also care is taken to ensure that no strangers come into the Hostel. The staff is friendly on the whole. Furthermore are offered at the Hostel different tours in Dublin.
Probably the best hostel I've stayed in so far. Great design, rooms are quite spacious and the bunks are equipped with reading light, plugs (power&usb) and curtains to have some privacy. Large community areas and great staff. Do the free walking tour if you get a chance! Lockable boxes under the bed for luggage. Breakfast was fine for a hostel ;)
Super easy to get to and is a short walk or bike ride from the town center. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good and easy! The bathroom and rooms are clean but are lacking in storage areas. Be sure you bring a lock with you!
Affordable well located clean. Good value for money.
A little bit of a lot of doors. An old hospital comes before woe.
Really welcoming and very nice.
We were here with our level on a class trip. In short, the Breakfast was not prepared well (Nutella Toast or cereal), the room was ok, bathroom could be more modern and clean, the door cards only sporadically, and through the window you get at Night everything. For a simple short Overnight, you can't complain but for a week I would have searched for me definitely better.
The room and the bathroom are not large and the view to a dirty backyard is the opposite of beautiful. In addition, the staff dealt with a part like Dirt. Of the area, you can't expect much in the streets, it stinks in part to the urine. With the Wi-Fi you can watch any Videos etc. Also after about 30 minutes, a forced break of about 10 minutes. And the Breakfast is very lean. The coffee tastes disgusting after water.
Very nice… ample spaces… great rooms… friendly reception… very friendly staff and great location. The only drawback is the breakfast with only toast and jam, milk and cereals: very skinny.
Fabulous and cheap. Very clean and the kitchen is equipped.
Great location
Just a little noisy, but it's a hostel, so…
The staff is adorable.
My boyfriend and I had an amazing weekend in Dublin. This hostel was by far cleaner, friendlier, quieter and more welcoming than most hotels I have stayed in. It's location is perfect, only a few minutes walk from the Busaras Luas stop. Breakfast was a treat and loved the 'common room' atmosphere! Would definitely recommend the Jacob's Inn Hostel and will definitely be back again.
Unfriendly night staff, dirty bathrooms, bedrooms look like a jail.
I met an extraordinary young man in this place who has given me a lot of inspiration and yeah lots of young people staying here. Spacious and they offer a lot of tourist assistance and would be able to suggest tons of activities. Clean rooms and the hostel is quite new.
Pro: This hostel is really nice especially for the price. Very clean and modern. Located.
I stayed at Jacobs Inn in Dublin, Ireland. Jacobs Inn was an amazing place to stay in. I stayed in a room with 7 other people, and it was very nice to have curtains and bed lights on each bed to provide a small private space for each guest. The coffee shop in the lobby was a nice addition as well as the game room upstairs. I felt very safe in the Inn because of the security measures put in place. Keys were required for almost all doors up to the rooms, and provided an added sense of security. Overall Jacobs Inn was a fantastic place to stay.
I stayed in novemeber. It was my first time staying in a hostel and I didnt know what to expect but I had a great experience. Front desk was so nice. I got a top bunk, didnt even ask for a bottom bunk but the girl was like " the person is leaving tomorrow so let me know if you want the bottom bed and I will fix it for you. " I forgot to tell her but I didnt really care hahahha I thought it was thoughtful she mentioned that to me. I wish I did because the ladder was creaky and …i had to wake up early and I felt bad for the person below me hahahha.
I think the girl who helped me her name was Barbara? She helped me all throughout my stay with directions to places via walk or tram and helped me decide which irish dinner show was better and directions to it. Breakfast was
Delicious. Sometimes its hard to find a seat so you have to go early. They have ceral, juices and toast. Basic food but I like that stuff so it was whatever to me hahaha.
Also, upon check in, I called from the US and put my cc on file for my reservation then before I left the US I emailed just to confirm I have a reservation and they were quick to get back to me.
Beds were comfortable, showers were great. The only thing I would add is an outlet next to every bed even on the top bunks if thats possible. Other than that I had a nice time. Friendly staff and will be back next time I come back to Dublin.
Pub crawls were fun too and I took a morning tour of dublin with Emur — free walking tour!
All the basics are there but thats about it. Not very clean, but still acceptable. The Bathrooms are very uncomfortable to use. In some you can't adjust the water temperatur, in others the colours for cold and warm are reverse in the shower but not the sink. Also there are doors after doors which you have to open with your card. Gets on your nerves after a few times. Hostel got free Wifi though.
We stayed for 2 nights and were very happy with both the room and the staff. The hostel is modern, clean, and well kept. There are plugs on top of each bed which is a big plus. The Wi-Fi is good all around. There's a small outside area on the 4th floor with some tables. The breakfast is nice, especially when you compare it to the usual hostel breakfast. The location is good, one minute away from the train station and a 15 minute walk to Temple Bar. No complaints really.
Modern, comfortable and well-kept rooms. The best hostel we have ever been to with a group. Great breakfast! The staff are welcoming, friendly and helpful. Quite professional. The place is perfectly suited for groups (36 people altogether). We thoroughly enjoyed our 4-night stay there, all the more so as the hostel is very well-situated so we didn't have to use any kind of public transportation for our numerous visits.
A completely unacceptable and disrespectful behaviour from one of the receptionists, who managed the hostel at night. Being dragged from our room in the middle of the night and threaded to be thrown out is not normal behaviour. This happened on several occasions and not only to members of our group. Also this was without any warning and without any explanation. The short-tempered employee were multiple times standing outside our room listening even though we were in bed and half were already sleep. I would not recommend anyone to visit this hostel singlehandedly because of treatment of this employee.
Very good experience overall, very modern and rooms are of hotel-standard. Free breakfast was a nice touch and was quite a comprehensive feed too. Would definitely recommend. One thing I will say is that the staff were very unfriendly.
Clean place, breakfast included, can cook, good location, everything perfect.
The only but you must be at least 2 nights, but it is understandable.
Visited the hostel nearly 2 years ago and barely remember but I know that I loved the hostel and it's community. Greetings from Berlin.
Quite good hostel at reasonable price with some good service! Stayed over there for 2 nights and it was worth it. 5-10 minutes walk to temple bar street.
Very good hostel. The 4-bed shared rooms are very comfortable and spacious. The ensuite bathroom is great. The included breakfast is of and the common areas are big and comfortable. Also the staff is very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this place to anyone going to Dublin.
It's a good quality hostel. Quite affordable for what's probably the best of it's class you can find in most places. The place feels new and updated. Free Wi-Fi in both the common rooms as well as the dorms. Large bathrooms en suite including the common rooms. Sizable common rooms and kitchens that got full of people but never felt crowded or claustrophobic. Light breakfast available and included in the price. Room with lockers to store valuables that is charged extra per day to use. Good location close to the city center with a lot of services, amenities and stores around. Friendly staff as well, especially Maria at the reception. Would recommend. Would come back.
A very big crowded hostel. If you are looking for something basic, it's OK. Sweet breakfast for free. Not bad.
Stayed here for a couple of night a while back, staff were very nice, breakfast was good & beds were comfortable! Would recommend when in Dublin.
This would have easily been a 3 or 4 star review except they refused to give back two of our group's deposits. We had a large group that booked out one whole room. On the day we left, myself and another person had to leave earlier than the rest of the group. The lady at reception said they couldn't give us back our deposits then as they'd need to inspect the room and they'd give them to the rest of the group when they left. Totally understandable. When the rest of the group checked out later that day everyone there got their deposits back but they refused to give back those extra two deposits, saying that they had no way of telling we hadn't had them back already. They told my friend who booked the room he'd have to email in and ask about this. A few emails later from my friend and they're still saying the same thing. Not sure how such a big hostel runs without keeping a record of things like who has had their deposits back. I guess they can't just check the tills to see they're €40 up. Apart from that it was a nice place, but it's extremely disappointing and frustrating for them to keep coming up with such a ridiculous excuse. I can't really recommend after all this, to be honest.
Good hostel, spacious, and pleasant, although a little old.
Although I only got to spend one night, I know exactly where I will be staying next time I visit Dublin. Friendly staff, affordable prices, free Wi-Fi, clean room. The single room was very spacious. Although you could hear the other guests in the hall, I didn't mind it too much. I was near the elevator is it was a bit expected.
Lean Breakfast and undfreundliche employees. For that everything quite clean.
Hi friends If you wanted to vist Dublin. and you worry about where you going to stay this the bast hostel. you feel like home. Is so easy. All the what you looking. Like shopping.
Clean, big room, simple breakfast included, good Wi-Fi. In between the harbor area and central dublin, quite far away from phoenix but easy to get therw b tram.
Staff very helpful, The location is great near the Center, and the hostel is very clean. Continental breakfast simple but filling.
Recommended.
This was the first hostel I had ever stayed in and I absolutely love it! I didn't know what to really expect since it was my first time but I think the rooms and facilities were very clean considering how much foot traffic they have coming and going each day. The hostel is in a very convenient location and the staff is wonderful! They were all so helpful and so nice! Whenever I get a chance to visit Dublin again I will definitely be coming back here.
We took the 12-bed dorm and stayed for 5 nights and we loved this place. Location was very good with everything within walking distance. Room was very big and spacious which we felt could've used a few hangers on the wall. Beds were sturdy and firm with no squeaky sounds. We would have liked it if there plugs were placed in the middle of the room so as to not interrupt other guests. Everything was very clean and we couldnt ask for more. Breakfast gets a bit packed due to the size of the hostel but there are 2 kitchens where people could enjoy their meals at. One thing that we found really made this hostel so special is the staffs. They were all very knowledgeable of the city and really answered any questions/requests you throw at them. Pamphlets and maps are all available at the reception and they also help you book day tours if you wish. All in all, a great experience and would come back for a return stay.
Loved the hostel, awesomely friendly, helpful and customer friendly staff, clean, safe and very accommodating. It is a safe, worth every cent.
Everything about staying in the hostel was just perfect. But be careful what you leave in a fridge, somebody ate up whole our lunch during Monday's night. S/he even left empty containers in our labeled bag. But it's not about the hostel, it's about people.
Awesome reception! They are very helpful. Facilities are clean. Location is pretty good. The people here are just great. I would recommend this place to anyone.
Hygiene in the rooms leaves a lot to be desired.
We stayed here with a big group a few years back. We had big common-rooms and I was all in all pretty satisfied with the stay. We were there for only four days and didn't spend much time at the Inn. The location can't be beat! It's really close to the city centre and the walk there is really nice: you pass by typical houses and shops and by-pass a lot of nice pubs and cafés. I personally loved where we were located with this Inn because you could be anywhere in a few short minutes. The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom big enough to hold five girls with a very extensive morning routine ;) The breakfast was kind of a joke since there was nothing but coffee and toast. Given that even at 17 I only drank coffee for breakfast, I was okay though — there are a lot of supermarkets in the area, so finding something more shouldn't be a problem. We were once also allowed to use the kitchen to make food for ourselves and that was really fun and appreciated. As far as I remember, they also had WLAN at the common-room. Okay, now on to the negative stuff: I was once left behind reading in the lobby while my entire group (only two adults btw) left for Trinity College. Luckily, armed with a map I had gotten myself beforehand, I was able to find the College by myself (Dublin is a REALLY easy city to get around with a map, seriously) and got reunited with my group — the staff at the reception was no help at all.
Lots of kids. Loud nights. Old and worn funiture. Nice folks working there.
A great hostel to stay at. I stayed in a private 3-bed ensuite that had clean sheets and towels. The only downside were the pillows, they were pretty lumpy, but I was able to deal with it. The breakfast was good, cornflakes, toast, tea/coffee, orange/apple juice. Free Wi-Fi in the reception area only, and once in a while I would disconnect. The staff was very friendly and helpful; one of the staff members recommended me to O'Shea's restaurant for food, which by the way, is great, I highly recommend O'Shea's for some good Irish food. As for the location, very close to all the main sites and just down the street from the bus station.
Great facilities, staff and perfect location just 150 metres from Connolly Station, 10 from AirCity Connect bus stop and a 15-minute walk from the festival area.
Great property with great prices. Perfect location close to the centre and within easy walking distance of the station. Very recommended!
I travelled 36 hours straight looking just to sleep. I was awoke at 2am by a group of people talking loudly right outside our dorm. They woke everyone in fact. I went out and told them to take it somewhere else but 5 minutes later they were still there. I went to complain to management but he just said 'it's just Dublin, the pubs close at 1am and they have nowhere to go'. Not a response I would want my staff giving out if I was management. I was so disgusted I checked out there and then — 3am! Jacobs management put the enjoyment of their drunken noisy guests before the rest requirements of weary traveller types. Note to Jacob — If you don't manage your guests fights can break out — it was very close! Apart from this nuisance the place was impeccable but the attitude was just so blasé.
