Fantastic place to stay. Clean and cozy. The staff makes you feel at home and like family. The neighborhood is safe, close to markets and shopping areas. Highly recommended :)

We appreciated the owner so much, she is helpful and nice, we arrived earlier and she gave us the room uncleaned just to have a shower and a nap. Rooms are small but it's pretty common in Paris, the staff clean them every day! Central position in a really cute and quiet arrondissement.

I stayed at Hotel Verlaine for one night after my Air BNB cancelled without notice. I was very relieved when the staff were friendly and helpful. This hotel is very basic and a little outdated, the rooms are small-ish. BUT the price is quite affordable, the staff are great and it is in the most beautiful part of Paris. There is ample public transport nearby, buses are great for reaching the best locations in Paris. The area is very tourist-friendly and has a shopping mall and many nice restaurants. I did not mind a small room. I was very grateful that the room was so clean and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious and the whole place felt very safe and peaceful. A note for any mobility impaired people — there is no lift, only staircases to the upper levels.

Comfortable bed, clean and in a lovely area for cafés. A little bit noisy late evening but soon quietened down. 8 euros for breakfast. Excellent value, well worth the extra payment. Morning staff very friendly.

Stayed last weekend with my husband in the hotel. Very friendly, helpful and accommodating staff, in particular the lady who owns the hotel. Excellent breakfast, specially the croissants. The room was a bit small and the hotel would benefit from a makeover. The location is great as it is only a fewvminutrs from the Metro station. There are some nice local restaurants serving good food and not to expensive. We would go back to the hotel.

Gone for a week — end between girlfriends in Paris, we received a very warm welcome, lots of advice, a nice clean and quiet room. Breakfast was great.

Tourist stay in a couple in Paris. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Reasonable price and great breakfast. The room was very clean and the bathroom was very nice. All in a very nice neighborhood. I would return with pleasure for a next stay in Paris more it is very easy to park at the edges of the hotel.

Possibly one of the best 2 * hotels in Paris. If you are looking for a hotel to rest and not with large rooms, this is your hotel.
Quality — very good price, but where it differs from the rest of hotels I have been traveling is the staff treatment (we were greeted by a very friendly receptionist). Are very interested in you're well, always happy and if you need help for anything are there. And as it happens once they treat you like this, they don't seek economic interest anywhere.
Small details like a tea — coffee on arrival, croissants, inviting you to breakfast, calling places to book, or even if it rains lending an umbrella are details to thank when you're away from home.
In conclusion, very familiar hotel, with great personal treatment and great value for money.

For a 2 star hotel it is perfect, the staff is really (really) kind. The room is little but it has all the essentials. I would return here.

Hotel of another age.
The walls and carpets of the common areas are in poor condition. The room I had on the second floor on the street side was small. It would look like my grandmother's room 92 years old but without maintenance for 30 years. She's in her juice. Furniture worn by time, tired plywood cupboard, successive coats of paint gaps, cracked washbasin, stained carpet.
The ridiculously sized cast-iron heater hardly heats the room. And in addition, the bad window simple glazing in PVC of poor quality that attached very poorly lets pass noise and cold. The glass is cracked on the top. We understand the closed door discussions!
Ditto of the internal noises. The floor creaks, the pipes make a hell of a noise. We take advantage of the neighbors what …
The bedding is comfortable but my sheet was torn …
The main thing is that it is rather clean. The sheets and towels smell good. The bedding is correct. It may be worth a better grade, but frankly I don't understand why we can put a note above the average at this hotel.
I say that I am a real customer who does not live in Paris and I have no interest in publishing this notice aside from helping travelers to make the right choice.
Stayed there one night and paid €70 with breakfast. Frankly at this price I should have gone somewhere else …

Good for a weekend trip to Paris. You are in 5 minutes by Metro and from there quickly reaches all the sights.

This hotel is very well located.
At the heart of a popular and still preserved of too many urban destruction area, the hotel is very accessible.
The restaurants are very numerous near the Samson Street.
I stayed many times in this hotel and I there found a very good welcome, calm and a comfortable and cozy room.
We go back for three days and two nights on Friday, June 27.

Stayed here for five days in May, great place. Quiet, yet within walking distance of the metro. Won't see many tourists here! Price for rooms ranges from cheap to moderate, but more importantly: its clean. If you stay here, be sure to check out the restaurant Chez Gladines a few blocks to the northwest. Basque cuisine… the kind of place where the Parisians go to get away from the tourists!
