Loved the ambience of the hotel, felt like a step back in time but with today’s conveniences, staff very obliging, and we loved the surrounding area, especially the boulongiere across the road and the metro very close by. Would definitely stay there again.

Nice location, good service and helpful staff! Metro is just under but overnight is ok and you get used to it quickly ;)

Hotel de la Porte Doree is much nicer than some of the 5-star we have stayed at. It’s a beautiful hotel in a great location with professional and very friendly staff — and the breakfast is just perfect!

Very nice in their welcome. Located a stone's throw from the eponymous stop on Line 8. Breakfast free and plentiful. Good room decor and decor. Appreciate the two shower dispensers and bathroom body cream. Numerous towels, soft and clean. Only limited defect found that you could cite… On some occasions of extreme silence you hear the passage of the subway cars. Self free hot drinks in the room.

We stay there every time we visit Paris. Charming hotel, well located, the rooms are cozy and the bedding is perfect. Breakfast is fresh and almost everything is organic. I highly recommend.

Loved everything about this place! Staff was extremely kind, helpful and courteous. Room was perfect a little smaller than what were used to but bring out first time in Europe we were very happy. Will definitely be coming back.

Second booking. Very bad night. No sheet from underneath so discomfort yet on a quality bedding.
The 1st night very well except the subway that we feel good, spacious triple room and you very beautiful.
2nd night room 17 overlooks the street you can hear it a lot. What a pity a missing sheet and the reception that tells you that this is how they have nothing but a thick sheet cover in unpleasant cotton. Breakfast very well.

Cute little hotel with a rich (continental) breakfast that is not exactly typical for France. On request, for example, can A leg boat trip. Rooms small and clean, antiquarian and tastefully decorated, has flair. If the passage of the metro does not disturb you until about 01:00, the rooms are quite quiet. Staff rather young and friendly, also speaks English.

Nice hotel close to the Metro and tram to the Golden Gate. Its practicality both indoor and outdoor is important. However, the furniture is in the style of the old French hotel to refresh, with strength trinkets and shower fittings at the end of life, and this lacks space in General (e. G. The smallest elevator I had ever taken). To end on a more equitable note, it must be admitted that it fills its Office well for stays of a few days.

Extremely small room, was kind of difficult to walk from the bathroom to the door. The bathroom sink and shower were clogging all the time and I had to wait during the shower. There is no sound insulation at all, seems like to be sleeping in the corridor and on top of that a very loud metro passes often nearby. The breakfast is somewhat average to low quality. Would not recommend.

Chic 3 star hotel with some very small rooms. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel has earplugs.

Very nice hotel in an old building and very tastefully furnished. However, the rooms are quite small. But this was not a problem for us, because we were only there to sleep anyway.

Stayed for 3 nights on this quiant wonderful hotel. The location is very convenient. Close to bakeries, McDonald's and metro, bus and tramway stations. The receptionists were very polite and welcoming. They gave me a room with a good view. They took care of everything we need including our service shuttle from/to the airport. And when there was a problem over our safe deposit box they attended immediately and when the incharge person haven't arrived yet the receptionist took the initiative to solve the lock problem. I'll definitely go back to this hotel the 2nd time I'll visit Merci Hotel Dela Porte Doree, you gave me and my family a wonderful time.

A comfortable room with a very nice bedding. The ventilation a little noisy and the vibrations of the subway can be annoying. Breakfast is full and plentiful.

I love this beautiful little hotel. The staff were friendly and incredibly accomodating with our touring bicycles. Any questions asked, were answered with a smile.

We had an excellent stay. I asked for bottles of both flat and carbonated water on arrival and this was taken care of as expected. The room we had was clean, with enough space to put luggage and still walk around freely. Little outside noise and no trouble with hearing other hotel guests. We were also very happy with the airconditioning as it was very hot in Paris when we were staying over. Staff was friendly and helped us with printing some documents we needed during our trip. They speak and understand English well. The Metro station is nearby although it's not the most convenient of stations as a starting point for discovering Paris.

We stayed for 8 days, the concierge were all very friendly, personable, and very accommodating. The superior double room was tastefully decorated, and had a great floor plan to allow for two people with lots of luggage. The location is also perfect with easy access to the 8, 3a, and the 6 Metro Lines. We'll definitely consider staying here again for future trips. Thank you!

Very nice hotel near the Bois de Vincennes. The rooms are very well maintained and enjoy very nice services. Quality products at all levels, attentions of all staff, impeccable cleanliness etc. Trying is definitely adopting it …

It was really nice. Me and my wife spent 2nights in this hotel and the bed was good, the standard room was little (but fine to be in Paris) and the breakfast … enought to be happy! The concierge and the staff were kind and helpfull.

Nice hotel, but very noisy. The metro noise isn't bad, it's the thin walls and floors that are the problem. Trying to sleep at 1am on a Wednesday night and other guests are keeping me up. Other times I was woken up by loud footsteps from above. They do provide earplugs but I don't want to risk sleeping through a building fire. My "deluxe room", which is said to be bigger is small and the bathroom is tiny, but this is Paris and their prices are reasonable. There is a small desk in the corner which was nice to have. The location is great — on the eastern edge of Paris but great access to the 8 metro line which goes very central as well as the 3 tram is right here. Quick and easy to get around. I would probably skip the breakfast if I were to stay here again, but I can't remember what it cost.

Room on the street side are a little bit loud — ask for room facing away from the street and on higher floors because of metro running under hotel. Staff are extremely friendly, public transportation is nearby, supermarket across the street and some good restaurants also. Wifi and TV works good.

The Porte Dorée was a wonderful hotel! It was very cozy and absolutely beautiful! The breakfast was also a plus. The next time I come to Paris, I will definitely stay here again.

Not gonna lie, this place is pretty awesome. Now as an American, my expectations are skewed, so I have to keep that in mind when evaluating a foreign location. It's a good sized room, right outside of a few transit options. The staff is friendly and helpful to those that don't speak French. While I would have prefered a bigger shower, for what it is, it is great. It's not that it's bad — again, "ugly american" here, so expectations are skewed. The shower is wonderful and the pressure is great. What I paid here was great. When I come back, I will come back! Hope they have frequent flyer club, lol :)

Hotel is well located with direct access to Bastille, Opera, Concorde, Kids Friendly, Products for home high-end in the room, the promotional Price on the official website. There are good restaurants a few steps from the hotel.

A wonderful stay at a brilliant hotel. Very well furnished and cleanliness levels of the highest standard throughout. All staff welcoming, friendly and helpful. Rooms on the smaller side; but as expected in a large city. On the further side for central Paris but good public transport links. Would highly recommend to anyone.

A great experience. The hotel is quaint with intimate rooms. The staff was friendly, most speak fluent English, and helpful. Some have made comments about the rooms being small, but I have had no problem with my room. Take the elevator once, and your room will feel large (world's unofficial tiniest elevator, but very cool). I agree the bathroom and toilet room (yes my room had them separate), were on the smaller side, but definitely manageable. I should also mention my room was an exclusive double so I probably have a room slight larger than most. Looking at the fire plan, it appears each room is a different size so it just depends what room you get. The hotel has a classic feel to it, but the rooms are updated. It is located conveniently next to the metro so you won't have to walk far at all. The breakfast buffet is good although a highly rated pastry shop is located directly across from the hotel. If staying in Paris again, I will definitely be looking at Hôtel De La Porte Dorée. The price was too good to give up, especially for the quality.

When we arrived at the hotel, there is a personalized letterhead reminding, provides the best time to go play, play, there are various scenic spots which the import queues of minimal information. Staff has always been ready to help solve problems and provide guidance.

I pre-paid for a room. When I arrived, they told me that they didn't have my reservation. I showed my confirmation email, so the receptionist did some digging. The hotel had my booking from Expedia and also received my payment, but they did not actually reserve a room for me. They were fully booked for the night. The receptionist made a few calls to "partner" hotels to look for a room but was not successful, so she gave up. The hotel didn't even bother contacting Expedia to tell them that they cancelled — — they were just going to keep the money. This hotel is run by scumbags.

Perfectly located for tourists! Beautiful little hotel for couples to have a romantic visit to Paris. Easy access to Metro. Was there on market day and the stalls were a great experience with great foods and products. Three years ago and still have good memories of this hotel and had to give them a great review again. Will definately visit them again! Pity they are so far away from Cape Town, South Africa. :-).

Stayed a few years ago and loved it. Clean, affordable, and a helpful staff. Close the metro. Also try bistro 102 around the way for a nice spot for dinner.

Wonderful little hotel! Probably one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept on. Proximity to the Metro was perfect to make getting around the city very convenient. Nice restaurants in the area. Quiet, safe neighborhood without tourists everywhere.
