Please like if this review is helpful Interesting medieval church, great stained glass windows with lots of original artwork and old disk staircases allowing access to the upper level.

Originally consecrated in the early 13th Century. After the Reformation, the first Estonian sermons, supplanting the German versions,  were held here and Johann Koell's Catechism, written by the pastor of the church and published in 1535, is considered the first book in Estonian. The exterior façade has a beautiful clock which has been keeping time here since the 17th Century. The church has a roll of honour, listing the 112 British RN sailors who lost their lives in the Baltic Sea operations 1918~20 which enabled Estonia and Latvia to declare independence from the Bolshevik USSR. Many are buried in Tallinn. Entry fee applies.

Church is quite beautiful inside with wonderful stain glass window with interesting paintings even on along the aisle side of some of the pews. Shortly after entering there was amazing music with 3 musicians singing and playing old instruments including a recorder, drum, lute and hurdigurdis (spelling? ) Acoustics were wonderful.

Is a medieval Lutheran church in the old town district of the city. Built sometime during the first half of the 13th century. The church stands out for its 17th century beautiful clock on the white facade.

Tiny, solid, medieval gothic church with excellent narrative picture-bible-paintings-walls to explain & remind Scripture to illiterals. Contemporary narrative stained glass windows with Scripture quotations.

Very beautiful church. Also good to see from the viewpoint. Generally a very beautiful city.

Where : Church of the Holy Ghost or Church of the Holy Spirit – Tallinn — Estonia Title: Beautiful piece of art & architecture The small Church of the Holy Spirit, that is located in the old town district of Tallinn, Estonia has a simple but really beautiful medieval architecture and according Wikipedia started to be built sometime during the first half of the 13th century. You will need to pay a small fee to visit inside, we believe we paid around 1euro, but its worth to check the remarkable main altar, a work by Bernt Notke dated from 1483 and other pieces of detailed art in wood that makes the church really special. Grade: Eli = 5, Serge = 4 Recommend: Yes we totally recommend.

This church is a small treasure in the heart of Tallinn. It is next to the town Hall Square. It was a Catholic temple, but now it's Protestant. The main altarpiece is beautiful and the choir paintings are interesting. It has a clear Germanic touch. The staff that attends the church is lovely.

I loved it, it was like walking around the medieval city

I mistook this for the town hall!

I like the architecture of the church

The exterior clock is probably the most photographed tourist attraction of Tallinn. The medieval Lutheran church interior isn't too spectacular at all, but still worth a look. Abundant use of wood makes it a welcoming place. 1€.
