The location is amazing and the staff was really helpful! They have free walking tours every day, we did one with Katie and it was great. We really liked that the our room had a lot of space and a private bathroom. Also, the facilities were very clean :)

Very good hostel, everything was fine, especially the jewish quarter tour with Suzie I can really recommend the hostel!

Highly Recommended! I have to thank you Hostel Downtown for making my visit to Prague pleasent, memorable and informative! I am not really of a shared dorm person but due circumstances I had to stay in one of their Shared dorms for 4night, it was clean, comfortable and friendly staff! What really impressed me are their tours. I took ugly Prague tour and old town Tour! Guide Gil was knowledgeable, friendly with good sense of humour! He gave a good service. Gil, Aneta and friendly staff top my reasons for loving this Hostel! Thank you.

I had a wonderful stay at Hostel Downtown and excellent orientation on the city tour by Katie and Suzie. I would highly recommend this hostel and thoroughly enjoyed.
Would love to come back here.

We stayed at the Stihl Timbersports World Championships in Hostel Downtown. Already at the reception we would be warmly welcomed, and our questions were all answered. Our room was very big with a nice bathroom. For breakfast there were delicious pancakes and fried eggs fresh from the pan

The hospitality is amazing, very energetic and friendly staff. Love the cooking class I learned so much as well as some Czech which is awesome. Ana and Aneta were encpuraging, energetic and super helpful. Food came out amazing and it was delicious.

Had a great stay! The room was clean and the hostel is in a good location for getting around. The staff were all really helpful and lovely. They are all happy to help with everything you need. Love the fact they organise activities for everyone, got to meet some great people and had a blast. Genuinely felt that the hostel cared about their guests. A great place for solo travellers :) xxx.

Great hostel, friendly staff, breakfast for 5 Jews (summer 2018), almost in the center. What more is needed) ) )

Hotel is in a location that is convenient, but it is extremely noisy with people out on the streets partying and yelling all night (in the summer). It would have been nice if they had fans for each person as the lack of AC made it unbearably hot (by US standards) on the abnormally hot days. The rooms and beds were quite dated and run down. The staff was kind and helpful. Still, I would give it 4 stars as it could be a good choice for those who want to stay near the noisier (more happening) part of town.

We came in without an reservation and they took us in at 10pm. We got a 6 bedroom dorm which was to my surprise big. We had our own bathroom for our room. Shower was clean and good. Actually the whole place was clean. They also offer breakfast for 5 euros. They have a very cozy living room where people socialise in the evening. They got free tours and the staff is very friendly. If you ever need a place to stay, go here. Do not look further. This place is amazing.

I stayed here with my class for a 2 week study abroad from late May to early June. I was a little anxious about staying in a hostel since I'd never done that but this place was really nice! Our group had 2 rooms. The rooms were big enough for 5 in each but not crowded, a nice view outside, and nice bathrooms. The common area/kitchen was a nice place to hang out. It's very central to downtown Prague. The staff here was amazing too! Everyone is so nice and accommodating. Our group had the pleasure of booking 2 cooking sessions with Brent. If possible, BOOK HIM. He's so fun to be around and talk to and makes amazing food! We helped prepare traditional Czech food with him on one night and we made us an Indian dish for the other. Even when he wasn't doing a session with us he would stop and chat with us or ask how our trip was going. The whole staff made you feel like they wanted you to want to be there. I'm really glad we stayed here and if I come back to Prague will try and stay here again!

Had a great experience at Downtown. Specially the tours with Mirek. He is a great guide, who share information in so detail about history and other information of Prague. I took 2 tours with him — 1 day about WW II and communism and 2nd day Prague Castle tour. He Guides you about everything. Where to eat, where to have best drinks, background of those drinks, where to go, what to do and what not to do in Prague. I would love to take more tourswith him. :) Thank you so much Mirek for showing this beautiful city Prague. :) I would visit again :)

It is a very lively hostel which is at the heart of the city. You can walk easily to the Charles Bridge at night or in the early morning to see the sunrise. The best thing about this hostel is that it offers a wide range of activities (walking/beer/bicycle tours around the city, puppet shows, free dinner on some days etc. ) and all the guides are very friendly.

This hostel is quite cute and homey. The location is superb and it doesn't dog a hole in your pocket. The staff is great too! Extremely helpful and kind. Best part about it was the cleanliness however. The rooms and bathrooms were squeaky clean and privacy was never a concern.

Excellent hostel, ideal for viaitare pre visit Prague. The location is great, both to walk around and to use the Metro. The staff are friendly and nice. In the evenings there is an involvement of all guests in evenings of games or themed dinners. The value for money is undoubtedly among the best in the city. Among the various comforts of the hostel there is the communal kitchen. The possibility to choose between the private rooms (from 1st to 5th floor) and the common rooms on the ground floor is appreciable. In addition to the structure is equipped with baggage storage.

A nice combination of hotel and hostel with activities generally running throughout the day. The rooms were clean, though a little warm given the weather outside. The location is perfect to enjoy Prague and the staff is also pretty good.

I spent 3 nights and it was amazing. The place is very organized and clean, considering the amount of guests it has. It is in a great location, near several shops, touristic points, public transportation, bars and clubs. It offers several activities such as tours, parties and dinners. Since I was travelling alone, this was great because I got to know people and make some friends. All the staff is very well prepared and very helpful, making your stay the best possible. A special thanks to Katie, Brent and Mirek for the tours and the pleasant conversations. Certainly recommend, and if I ever visit Prague again, will without a doubt stay at Hostel Downtown again.

Great place to stay tours were excellent. Staff were great fun. Would recommend it to anyone who wants a good time.

Simple and efficient in the city center.

It's simple: everytime we go to Prague with my boyfriend (minimum once a year), we try to book a room there! Service is always on point, you can have free activities, free tour of the city with fun and full of tips and stories guides… The breakfast the morning is complete, fresh (made directly in the kitchen by the service, in front of your eyes) and really tasty. You can even enjoy music while eating! There is possibility to book family or couple rooms, at a very fair price. The only problem is the isolation of the rooms, which is not great: there is double windows so for outside it's good, but the walls are really thin and it's pretty common to have rude other visitors yelling in the hallway in the middle of the night. But I definitely recommend!

Great hostel. The staff is very friendly, we were very welcomed. A wide range of activities (city tour, pub crawl, etc. ).
On the last day we thought about what we could do, the staff offered us a bit of walking through the city and showing us the most beautiful places. Very helpful. The hostel is centrally located, everything is within walking distance.

Great people, great location.
Near the subway, 10 minutes walk to Charles Bridge. The staff are friendly and enthusiastic, and the evening is also a good and healthy free dinner for everyone, with this opportunity to get to know each other.
The room is also very clean, the floor is not very beautiful scenery, Street View is pretty, but the street lamp is very bright also a bit noisy.
Toilet has a lot of toilet paper enough, shower head of the water suddenly small, hot and cold, almost burned dead.
Breakfast very attentively, the replenishment also quickly, big push muffins! Overall, the price is quite high.

Loved it. Everyone was so nice and helpful. Met a lot of Cool people here. Gill's local city tours and beer tasting trips around town are pretty amazing.

We loved this hostel! We had a private 3-bed ensuite and it was more spacious than most 6-bed dorm rooms we have been in. Very clean and nicely decorated. There is a huge kitchen/dining area for hanging out. The hostel staff have a ton of events going on; we enjoyed the Italian night and mini golf! We met a lot of great people here :) I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

I had an amazing 4 days at Downtown last week.
It started with me being given a rose for International Womens day at reception and continued from there! :)
I met so many awesome people from all around the world; we shared very very late nights and lots of sight seeing during the day!
The staff are the best! They make an effort on every level. They put on activities day and night, walking tours etc during the day or cooked meals/drinks in the evening. They make sure everyone feels at home and get people involved… if that's what they want!
You won't feel alone here even though its a fairly big hostel!
The age range is surprisingly wide… coming from someone heading towards the grey haired area of life LOL, I never felt it for a moment! It really is 18 all the way up to 40+ not that anyone actually cared :D
All in all, great staff, great location and great people staying there, what more could you ask for!

Absolutely great hostel. The staff are so friendly and accommodating. There are always programs going on that are great for meeting other travelers. Thank you to Brent, Katie and Mirek for making my stay so great!

It was a decent hostel. The bed wasn't super comfortable and the pillow was so lumpy it hurt my face. I stayed in a female dorm and 6 beds shared 1 bathroom with a combined toilet, shower and sink. Meaning if someone was in the shower and you had to pee, you had to make the trip down 5 flights to reception. The tours provided were good, informative and gave you a sense of how the city is laid out. The breakfast (125 CZK) always had some hot items to go with the yogurt and cereals. I was sick when I stayed there so I didn't really participate in the group (drinking) activities. However I did join in on a group dinner one evening and had a pretty good time. The marionette show isn't super kid friendly, fyi to any parents out there. Reception was friendly and tried their best to help me in any way I needed.

Great location and great staff. Brent and Katie made our stay very enjoyable. We also got a free home-cooked dinner on Sunday night as well! I would always recommend this Hostel.

Excellent. The service is very good, the price is OK, it is relatively economical. The spaces are kept clean and tidy, besides the staff are very friendly, they speak English, Czech and some speak Spanish.

Superb hostel for those who want to enjoy the nightly atmosphere of Prague.

Every single one of the staff members are amazing, never felt so at home in a hostel before. They cook for the whole group most days, sometimes for free, and when there isn't a meal happening there is another activity (usually drinking games in preparation for a bar crawl). These people truly understand "hospitality" to a scholarly level. Perfect for solo travellers.

This is one of the best hostels I've stayed at, and I've stayed in hostels all over the world. The staff make you feel so welcome, right from the start offering us a drink while checking-in. It's such a welcoming but relaxed atmosphere, you can choose to stay in and chill out in the evenings or they take those that want to go out on a pub crawl (but make sure everyone is safe and having a good time). They regularly have theme evenings and cook for guests, which is a great touch. Special thanks to Katie for generally being awesome and the personalised walking tour; Brent for being so kind, helpful and funny; and finally thanks to Pablo for well… being Pablo. :-) We've already booked to go back to Prague in February and stay at Hostel Downtown. Can't wait to go back!

The place is very cool and central, the value for money was excellent and the common areas and the attention of the staff was very professional and enjoyable. Would go back there sure.

Hostel Downtown is the best hostel I've ever stayed in! The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly, and the facilities are great! My advice would be to stay as long as you can because there is a great community vibe and you won't regret it!

Wonderful hostel! Inexpensive, clean, loyal, is almost in the heart of the city. Friendly staff, cozy atmosphere and a full breakfast at a very affordable price.

It is an excellent hostel, the staff is very friendly and helpful. You can have breakfast very well there with 4 euros. Every day they have scheduled tourist activities or integration, some are free and others have a symbolic value. The rooms are clean and the bathrooms despite being shared are also very clean. The location is perfect to go out and get to know Prague walking round.

Since have never stayed in hostel was little skeptical for hostel until I stayed at hostel downtown.!
I am glad I picked this place for my soul traveling trip.!

I made the right choice of staying here for my second visit in Prague. The location is good, walking distance to some attractions. The room and bathrooms are always clean, even the hallways. Most of all, the staff were supper friendly and they always have activities. I joined a free wallking tour and the guide was really good, it shows that he loves what he is doing. Breakfast costs 4euros and its super worth it, u get treated into a breakfast with piano music. I’ll definitely recommend this hostel to everyone.

Very friendly hosts. Very informative guided tours with Gil and Mirek. Despite our age (48 years) with our 3 children, we feel very comfortable.

24 hour Reception, big sitting area/ living room. Social activities organized by the managment. Rooms are clean, toilets clean. Very quiet all the time and have lift. Lockers are under the bed without lock (padlock). Very near metro and main attractions.

Absolutely great hostel! Extended my stay because of this and the beauty of Prague. Rooms are quite good and the beds were comfortable. Staff are great! Vibe of the hostel is great with lots of events to bring people together and free food. Shout out to Brent and Katie for an awesome time!

Fun party hostel. Weekly free meals. Events every night. Free tours every day. Friendly, engaging staff. Pub crawls, beer tours and even theatre events in house. Always have a great time here. Great place for single travellers to meet new friends! Brent is an amazing chef and all around great guy. He's the one who knows where to go.

A hostel of 10! Located in the center of the city and well connected. The atmosphere that you breathe in this place is amazing, the staff fantastic. I would definitely recommend it!

Great location in the heart of city… very well connected to the public transport. It's best place to meet new people and hang out with them. The staff is very helpful and humble. They also host beer tasting, wine tasting, city tour, bicycle tour, pub crawling events. If you are in Prague, I highly recommend stay at Downtown.

Price —/performance ratio is fine, even attention to cleanliness has been taken into account. You can't expect too much from the beds, but we also start from a hostel here. Unfortunately, I can't say anything about eating, as it has always been eaten outside.

Excellent location and courtesy.

Very confortable and clean. The staff was very kind. However their luggage storage is just a wooden cage with a loxk for which key, all the guests have access, nothing was lost though. Very well located. It gets a bit noisy late night which is natural at any hostel.

Super Hostel location!

Great place. Big common areas, kitchen, fridge, great staff, affordable and incredible complete breakfast. Something new for me were the absolutely amazing Free Walking Tours provided by the hostel, Mike was the best guide I knew.

The staff is extremely friendly and welcoming. Loads of organized activities and easy going guests. Large common area and kitchen with good optional hot breakfast. Central location too, 10-15 minutes walk to many key locations.

Very close to the city centre. Great for groups of friends. Staff helpful and pleasant. Rooms ok and very spacious. Maybe the families and couples, stay elsewhere.

Most of the hostel is its location. It doesn't get any better practical. Directly in front of the doorstep n Samy (open till midnight) and n kebab/pizza shop.
The staff is incredibly friendly… we could pay the accommodation in two currencies (euro, and crowns).
Breakfast is manageable, but what there is, is very good; Rooms (we had an 8-man-bunk bed-rooms) are absolutely fine, sanitary facilities also.

Awesome place to stay for low price. Friendly staff and colorful atmosphere. Also they offer lots of free tours that you should not miss. This is the place I would love to come back again.

Various activities, abundant paid breakfast, good facility, friendly and efficient receptionists and located in convenient area If I have another chance to visit Prague, CZ, I choose to stay here again.

It's an excellent place. The staff is friendly and very efficient. The rooms are just about the perfect size. The beds are decent. And considering I've been here at a crowded time, the toilets and showers weren't busy at all. This season of holiday they also offer some entertainment for the guests. If I ever come back to Prague. I'll stay here again.

The lock on the bathroom not compliant and tap the shower not in compliance either water is cold or hot, cannot be set to the right temperature otherwise excellent.

This hostel is just perfect! I still love it the second time. People are very friendly and it's very well located.

Room for five persons ok. Breakfast (80CZK) ok. Public room ok. Security issues: We got a key-card for an other room. One day the Police was here because of some problem with the luggage store. Very good central location. Some Wi-Fi problems. No heating at the night. Bin was only emptied once during five nights — while we where sleeping.

No heating after 10pm and in the afternoon so if you are planning on going there in the winter. Pack extra clothes. Other than that the employees were friendly and breakfast was cheap and plentiful. Near the city centre which is definately a plus.

Warm, welcoming, plenty of space but the bed are a real torture, if you're not drunk.

Clean, well situated, I would highly recommend it.
