I visited both the apartments in Pula and in the Istria inland and I was not disappointed. Both of the venues have their own personal appeal, and both tell a different story. The one in Pula has a more urban feel to it, with modern contemporary interior design, pool, Wi-Fi, TV, everything one needs to feel "at home", but with a view of the seaside and that salty smell which I love when I'm relaxing and enjoying some "ME" time. Just 10 minutes walk from the first beach, and 20 minutes walk from the world famous Pula amphitheater and beautiful, history rich city center. During summer months, the Pula amphitheater is packed full with interesting events, so I was visiting during the opening night of the "Dimensions Festival" and it was a once in a lifetime experience. After the Pula visit I went to see the apartments in the Istria inland. I was a bit skeptic at first, (because there is no beaches and see inland, duh! ), but upon arriving, all my suspicions faded away. The "inland" apartments were such a great surprise for me. Old stone row houses, now reconstructed in a traditional istran way, but the interior and certain details on the houses themselves were like something from a design magazine. A great combination of rustic and modern. Very contemporary interior design but still taking the old, traditional workmanship into consideration. I visited Tuscany, Provence, Andalusia, but the Učka mountain region in Istria was absolutely breathtaking and holds an equal place like the ones mentioned before. Istria is still kinda undiscovered, which is a plus in my book, because there are no tourist there. Everything is so original. People still live here as they did decades back. The air is so crisp and clean, my lungs were very thankful. Again, I had everything I needed, Wi-Fi, TV, pool (so you can still swim here ;) ) … And if you want to visit the beaches, they'r just a 30 minute drive away. The hosts were gorgeous. They did everything to feel as if I was their number one visitor. They talk English, Italian, German, Slovenian. Really friendly and always took time to make me feel homier. Nothing was too much for them, every request I had, they helped me achieve it. Very nice people. All in all, Pine and Lime apartements get a definite 5 star from me, and I'll be comnig back next year, definately. Tnx Pine & Lime! :)
