We enjoyed our week long stay at Villas del Rio! Super nice, friendly and helpful staff! We do not know any Spanish and it was not a problem. Cristina, Eunice and Andrian were TERRIFIC! With 2 large pools to relax and soak up the sun! A FANTASTIC breakfast every morning on the balcony! And a roomy apartment to stay in! We will plan to come back and highly recommend! Appreciate Dr. Silvia Zuniga in lining us up!

Everything about Villas Del Rio has been wonderful. The travel site we used to book our stay didn’t fully communicate with the hotel, but the hotel staff made sure we had accommodations. Which turned out way better than expected. The staff is wonderful, they try to help in every way. From calling for taxi service to helping carry groceries. The whole experience has been great.

I love it here. Everyone is so kind and helpful. The rooms are clean and very spacious. With the 2 pools, hot tub and gardens it feels like a mini resort.

Suite is much larger than expected, very nicely laid out. Check-in was a breeze, even though we arrived at 11:30 in the morning.

Amazing! Perfect place to end our 2 week adventure in Costa Rica. The staff are extremely nice, the unit was perfect for our family of 4 and the price was fantastic. We were so impressed at how clean everything was and great view. The pool is warm and the hot tub is hot! We absolutely would recommend and will stay again. Thank you!

The premises and the service of the staff (front desk, dining and cleaning) was excellent. Very secure place. Has Heated pool, they even have umbrellas to borrow in case you forgot to bring yours. Only downside is the beds and pillows. Not strong and comfortable. You have a full kitchen. Special thanks to Andres, Eunice (Front Desk) and Kimberly (dining) for their excellent service and attention. I got a free shuttle ride to Airporr at 5AM with about 15 hrs notice.

Loved this place. Great value for space and amenities. Staff was motivated and energetic. Fresh juices at breakfast were out of this world. Lots of places to which you can walk and get groceries and boutique food. Or even fast food. There is a small shopping mall with walking distance too with some nice restaurants. Definitely will stay there again.

It's really a charming place. After you adjust to its unique design features, you will come to adore this place. Yes… rooms are quite dated, but with quality finishes… so its ok! Grounds are gracious and attractive. The Location is superb. Staff is quite accommodating and attentive. A couple things I personally am not crazy about, small 12" shiny white tile throughout living and kitchen areas. But the bedrooms' wood floors and doors are solid and meticulously maintained. Kitchens have white appliances and dated cabinets. But after 15 minutes, you're over that. The quality and design of these spacious units is really attractive.

Ideal for families, spacious suites and furnished with everything you need for long stays.

Perfectly located near a major road but outside the city, so easy access to anywhere including the city, beach, waterfall, and volcano. I also really loved that it is gated with security 24 hrs. The staff was kind, professional, friendly, very helpful and added to our relaxation (and spoke perfect English). Even before our trip, their communication was always prompt and personable. Especially incredibly helpful during our stay were Andres, Mauricio, Eylin, and Jorge. There was always someone at the desk no matter what time. The hotel itself is beautiful with excellent amenities including 24 hr check-in, 24 hr pool, 24 hr exercise room, 24 hr business center and 24 hr mini-mart. There is also a playground! The free breakfast is plenty with cereal, fresh fruits, yogurt, cheeses/meats, danish, breads, juices, tea/coffee and changing choices including rice, sausage, pancakes. If that's not enough you can add on omlets, eggs, pancakes for $3-4 or use the full kitchen in the room. I would bring my sunny side ups to the breakfast. The room was gorgeous, spacious, and clean. We requested an extra bed thinking we'd get a springy, lumpy roll away. Instead it was a real mattress with a metal frame with head/foot boards Though our view of the mountain was nice, I would probably ask for a room not facing the street because the road noise was noticeable, which had I called ahead may have been changeable. (That's probably the only thing I can think of that wasn't perfect.

Despite our delayed flight (which cost of a full day of our vacation) courtesy of American Airlines. Apartotel Villas Del Rio fully made up for the rest with their spectacular staff and employees. Centrally located in San Rafael of Costa Rica. The Hotel includes suite like style accommodations, perfect for small groups and families. Full kitchen, two bathrooms, two bedrooms and a living room space. The decor is a need of a bit of freshening up, but I believe they are doing a bit of revamping currently. Special Thanks to their front desk staff member Jorge and Andres. If it weren't for these two gentlemen we wouldn't have been able to salvage What was left of a quick trip that seems doomed with delays and cancellations. If you visit ask for Jorge or Andres, they will treat you like family. Thanks for sharing your pizza to the two hungry girls you hardly knew.

If you are looking for a home away from home and yet have all the amenities with helpful, friendly and cheerful staff then this is the place to be. Strategically situated, malls and supermarkets are but walking distance or drivable for maybe 10 mins. They have a more than adequate breakfast spread however for those who stay for an extended time it can get a tad bit boring. The rooms are spacious and well ventilated. Their heated pool and jacuzzi only adds to the creature comforts one desires after a long day at the office. A great place for children and pets alike. If you are looking for something not too expensive but more than decent then Villas Del Rio is for you. You can be rest assured that u will be leaving with fond memories and a couple of more friendships to boast of! Pura Vida!

I was staying at the hotel and I can say that the attention was excellent. The rooms are very good, spacious and clean. The people who help in the hotel are very polite and always are with the best joy. Breakfast is traditional. It helped Me a lot to allow pets. The location is ideal to get to Costa Rica and visit the Escazu area. 100% recommended.

Room is a little dated but nice. Fitness room is always hot. Confident the staff keeps turning off the AC. Both treadmills need to be replaced. The rest of the equipment in the fitness room could use some fixing or replacing. Washer and dryers work good.

Strict security, rooms are awesome, has restaurant and pool.

All of the people I interacted with were extremely helpful and friendly. The pool area was spacious, comfortable, and inviting. Air mattresses and pool toys were in common use. The grounds were well tended and felt safe. The rooms were nice with great wood floors (slippery if in socks) and comfortable layouts. They showed some wear with scratched walls/paint, cabinets and boards. They were stocked with the basic supplies. In my room there were exactly two of everything including clothes hangers. If staying for an extended period of time I would bring hangers, dish and laundry soap, and a hamper/laundry basket. There are several grocery stores nearby but would require a car if you were picking up a lot of groceries. We booked a few tours from the front desk and utilized the airport shuttle. For the most part they were prompt and were all courteous. Overall we enjoyed our stay there but it might be more fun to be a little closer to things as we were without a vehicle.
