Stayed for one night only, in a very expensive room with a beautiful view overlooking the waterway, though couldn’t see much it was smoggy. Upon arrival at the reception while being checked in the reseptionist informed us that a deposit would be charged against the damage we might cause and it would be returned as soon as we check out proven that we hadn’t caused any damage to the hotel property. Half the price of the room or something like that, not just a shoelace. It’s been 6 months now since we stayed in that swanky hotel and the money has failed to materialise in our bank account. The hotel management had managed to reply on my numerous emails with a great deal of delay saying that it takes time for the international bank transfers, up to 4 weeks. Now, looking back we have realised that we got ripped off Chinese way! Avoid swanky the White Swan Hotel where they Rip you off smiling!

This is very nice hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. Many rooms are facing the Pearl River (not so noisy, actually) and others are facing the city. Fairly modern rooms. My room, 1111, had a bath tub with shower. To those who are less abled, please ask for the rooms with walk-in showers. It has its own long driveway pass the old colonial buildings. Taxis are hard to come by as it is fairly secluded from the main roads.

Hotel was beautiful and the lobby was amazing, check in was easy, even at 4am. The beds and pillows were extremely comfortable and a big standout was the spa/gym area. Very well kept gym with all new machines and a great view, downstairs was the sauna, steam room, hot bath and ice bath. We used these facilities every day, usually twice a day and they were always very clean. There were a couple small things that let our stay down just a little bit, even though we had a non smoking room, our room stunk of smoke on arrival because you can smoke in the hallways immediately outside, we just couldn't be bothered changing rooms and kind of got used to it but maybe there should be smoking and non smoking floors to avoid this. Also the breakfast was very expensive and was a big let down with little variety and selection of food, this could definitely be improved, by comparison our next hotel had an outstanding breakfast for half the price.

This is the nicest hotel I stayed at in China. It is within walking distance to several malls, restaurants, and an outdoor market. The room was clean and modern. The staff were friendly and always available for any need. The pools were clean and not crowded. The hotel restaurant was upscale and the food was a nice mix of local favorites as well as western dishes, everything was delicious!

Quality food, rooms and service, beautiful views of river.

One of the most beautiful and best hotels in the city. The excellent breakfast buffet has a nice view of the river. Many boats and ships can be observed.
In the hotel there is a beautiful large koi pond with a multi metre high waterfall.
There are also a number of exquisite shops in the house. I've already got some nice things here. It is also convenient that the shops take over the transport handling when buying larger items such as furniture.
The hotel also has a very nice pool area.

This is a wonderful hotel with gardening view but it's also a pity for the non smoker. You will find the smell inside the common areas.

It was one of the best and my favourite places for yumcha in guangzhou. Food quality stays the same after the major upgrade but the service has gone north. Was waiting for someone else to validate the parking ticket in the lobby. There was a cleaner was mopping the floor and asked me to get out of her way (indeed not in a polite way) it was below 5 star hotel standard for sure, so disappointed.

Service is great and price is unbeatable.

The service was good. I had to paid upgrade to the 60m room, the initially booked 30m room would have give the hotel only a 3 star. The dim sum at the restaurant would be 7/10. The lounge drinks and price also 7/10. The area and the view is 9/10. We took the taxi in and out of the hotel.

One of the most popular China hotel in Guangzhou. The interior is truly fabulous representing many Chinese culture, arts and antiques. A must visit if you are in Guangzhou.

After the first time to decorate, it seems to be a must-see scenic spots, which is also the White Swan and other five-star different places, welcome the people to visit, the old home water scenery most feel, so the platform is always row of the team and other shadow of the people, coincides with the Christmas holiday, there is a good big Christmas tree, but the small bridge is not going to be, restaurants and meal bar is a line of invincible Riverview, indeed is to explode, and strive to make money ~

I stayed here for two nights in guangzhou to visit my mother-in-law, great experience!

The morning tea here is very famous. Evening went to the riverside restaurant, eat the two-person Peijiu package, produced super praise, did not expect to eat in China so authentic French western food.

With a few big expectations, the first five-star after the reform and opening-up, but also in recent years to renovate.
Hardware modernization and comfort are like home without a cold. But the quality of personnel services vary, attitude and five-star hotel has a distance.
It's good to drink tea in grand mansion. And fitness and spa are worth a try.

I stayed in this wonderful hotel with its incredible views across the river in 1983. Different times then. The staff were all young, utterly charming and refused to take tips! No noise at night across the city except the hum of a thousand conversations. What a wonderful memory.

A hotel simply D first highly recommended.

Whenever I'm in GZ this is where I stay (also because my family has connections and we get upgrades etc but will make this review as unbias as possible). If you're travelling to China on limited Chinese, this is a great hotel since the American consulate or something like that is within the vicinity and all the staff have proficient English. The rooms are spacious, clean and nicely designed. Great restaurants as well — considered very upmarket for residents so a lot of people tend to take guests/business functions in the restaurants. Plus they have a lovely pond/mini rainforest feature :)
