I’m sorry to have to give my honest opinion but I was very disappointed after my “tour” of the stars at Alfa Aldea. Ours was a group of one Italian, four French and myself from Australia. When the tour was booked, I was told It would be conducted in english by Gabriel. It was conducted in broken English and at a level that was insufficient to explain much. For example he told me that there had been rain for the last two days and I couldn’t figure out what he was saying at first. He meant shower, as in meteor shower. The French spoke better English than he did. They asked him why Venus was only seen as a half hemisphere and he couldn’t explain it to them at all in English. At the end of the tour the French asked him in english what was the relevance of the different sounds heard on the radiotelescope and he was stuck for words and ended up launching into Spanish for 2 minutes and of course I couldn’t understand any of it. We were served wine, a cup of soup and a piece of garlic bread which were all good. The people are nice. I just don’t think it was worth 12000 CLP.

The truth that I came as a last alternative … and by the data of a person in the centre… but the truth is that it was an excellent experience, a magical time and attention to super-personalized.

Unless the moon is out or the planets are aligned or there is some other significant event occurring between 9 and 10 pm, I'd give this tour a miss. You're better off gazing at the beautiful night sky yourself. The tour was very comfortable (enjoyable 3d clip, glass of wine, blankets, soup) but the presentation was unclear and the telescope image of the various star formations is really for astronomers.

Excellent attention, the detail of being more personalized makes the visit very pleasant, the wine and the collation delivered make you enjoy even more the tour.

It is a beautiful and entertaining experience astronomica… observe so clearly the universe… and the guides explicandote every detail is that it becomes very comprehensible for all… and wine! Even. Better… all very rich! … amazing experience! …

It was not what I expected, when we sold the tour showed us images of a dome, service of an aperitif, that the group would only cost 4 people… In the end it was quite the opposite, there was no such dome, we were invited a glass of wine and divided the group of 10 or 12 people and the worst was that by the "telescope" did not see anything interesting in addition the place was within the urbanization and the lighting of the alreded Ores could not clearly appreciate the sky and lost all the mysticism.

A very nice place, with lots of vegetation, close to Vicuña and shopping places.
Warm attention of its owners, cabin quite well equipped for 4 people, with access to swimming-pool.
Pleasant place to rest and you also have the opportunity to learn astronomy in the same place.

Beautiful open-air observatory in the middle of the vineyard. The hosts specialize in astronomy and very attentive to all the details.

We are so small in the concert of the universe and yet, how many times we think is so big and important without recognizing how wrong we are…

Great experience. The talk is understandable to any spectator and interactive, while you drink a glass of wine. At the end of the visit you can take a picture of the moon with the telescope:)

Excellent accomodation, good price, great astronomy tour.

Nice and homie experience, we went there for a '18 de Septiembre' long weekend EXCLUSIVELY for the world-acclamed night sky of the area, what a perfect place to stay at a small astronomic center/hostel right? well… Cloudy with a chance of sunrays. All weekend. Yes, a drag. But what made the entire trip worth it was the hospitality of Marco (owner) and his enthisiasm for the sky. He took out his solar lenses and gave us a really cool speech of what we were watching.

Excellent attention, the tour is wonderful, and the assistance provided (glass of wine, blanket, soup, and garlic bread) make it even more friendly. Recommended!

Great experience! The Alfa Aldea team really tries to make you have a good time with wine and hot soup while you listen the guide. The groups are small so it is better when looking at the telescope or listen the explanations. The guide was really knowledgeable. They could separate the groups into spanish and english speakers since in my group some people could not enjoy the whole experience because they were lost in translation.

Excellent personalized attention, with well-didactic monitors when it comes to showing us the sky, wine tasting, something to snack on and a rich soup. Cozy and magical atmosphere… They'll enjoy it, I recommend it.

Friendly people! Very honest. Beautiful place. They know a lot about astrology. I absolutely recommend. Just be careful with the weather if you want to see the stars.
