Fun atmosphere and great drinks!

First time here and not bad place to stay when in Vancouver that’s good people and friendly staff I would come here again for sure me and Brian getaway fr home Abbotsford.

Such a ripoff! Paid $50 the entrance for what? Halloween decorations? There was no activities, no entertainments and the music was so boring! I feel like I throw my money out the window…

Dem vibes… whether you Hideaway or get wild outside.

Despite the fun in choosing a room to dance at multi-room events, and the fairly consistent and appealing decor, this venue is generally stifling and airless. I don't understand their lack of an airflow system. It's like a like a sauna without the benefits of a real sauna! Feels like suffocating! The floors are also quite grippy and minimally conducive to dancing. The free self-serve water station downstairs is a bonus, something I wish all venues provided, however the staff cleared several of my half-full cups before I could finish them — kind of a waste!

Dark 80s Nights are intense, but fun.

Terrible Experience here. VIP tickets were a complete scam and staff are rude & condescending. Management ignoring emails.

The price is Ecinomico. But the rooms are small and the window shutter is more girl X which comes in the light from early.

If you've never been to Vancouver before, don't stay here. All of the attractions, Gas Town, Stanley Park, etc are a bus ride away, but will be they scariest bus ride you've ever had. The hotel smelled bad, the carpets and walls were stained. The bathroom was small and cramped. The toilet would run sporadically throughout the night. One of the main attractions of the hotel, the Tiki Bar was only open on Friday and Saturday, so unless you stay those nights you will not get a chance to even see it. My fiance and I had high hopes for the hotel and were rather disappointed.

Would give this place a zero star if I could. Here's why: 1. The entire room smelled like urine (like someone pissed on the carpet the night before) 2. The water temperature/pressure in the shower and bathroom sink was never steady (suddenly it was hot, suddenly it was cold. I didn't even bother showering) 3. There were no lights except for the two dim lamps on the night stands 4. The place was not soundproof at all. We could clearly hear people talking out on the hallway and loud bass music made sleeping impossible. 5. There was no comforter/dueve. Only a thin sheet and small blanket was provided. I was cold most of the night… with windows closed 6. We thought maybe turning on the heater would help but there was no heater (and no A/C) We were only there for a night's sleep but even that short amount of time was enough to make us miserable.

I was there to see my friends perform. The venue was great for performances, but getting drinks at the bar was pretty ridiculous. There was no cue of any sort… I had to push myself to the front and hope that a bartender noticed me. Other than that it was great.

Tried some pizza rolls and meatballs at the adjacent restaurant. Meatballs were great, I'd go back for those alone. The pizza rolls were a bit of a miss, undercooked in the middle. The ingredients were good enough, though, that I wouldn't hesitate to get an actual pizza which would be fully cooked. Service was competent and friendly, nothing special either way.

The Waldorf was awesome, they have a great tiki bar with awesome drinks.

Had pizza and drinks at Nonna's Table. Really impressed with their thin crust wood oven pizzas. Definitely on the try again list.

Great place to throw a private event. Lots of different rooms to use so you can customize the experience. Bar staff is always pleasant and efficient. Clean, and nice but not very well lit. Even during the day most of the rooms are dark and dont have much access to natural light. This is a minor thing though as it seems to mainly be a night time establishment.

Nonna's Table has a great atmosphere, friendly service and wonderful food.

My partner and I stayed for 2 nights and were very disappointed. When we walked up the stairs to get to our room the hallway smelled of old stale ciggarette smoke. Our room had no ceiling light with just 2 lamps. Which one was not working. The lighting is very dim. The remote for the T. V did not work and there was a dead insect on the bed. The bathroom was dirty, the toilet plugged twice and started leaking out the bottom onto the floor and I wished I had flip flops to shower in. They did a good job at angling the pictures just right on the website because they are nothing like it in real life! I requested a second sheet to put on top of the very thin, very used looking couch throw of a blanket so we could sleep ok. The second night we came back from a musical to pounding bass coming from downstairs, like enough to make the floor vibrate… it went on till 2a. M in the downstairs bar. Upon check out I still paid full price. I left there an unhappy customer, I will not be back, nor will I recommend the Waldorf to my friends and family.

Great venue spaces. Tons of cool events! So close to Commercial Drive too.

Very spacey and great decor. Location is a bit hard to get to by transit but otherwise it's a great place to be.

Cheap and nice place, helpful staff.

My bf and I spent one night here after celebrating his birthday downstairs in the bar. Honestly, I expected it to be dingy and bug infested like all the the other hotels along E Hastings… But it was lovely! It was clean and had all the things you'd expect in a new hotel — flat screen tv, very clean, air conditioning, the most comfortable bed EVER! — but with a ton of vintage charm too!

I originally had 3 nights booked at this hotel because from some reviews & pictures it looked decent & price was cheap. You get what you pay for… First thoughts of the lobby — the carpets were filthy and the smell was disgusting. We got our room and was very disappointed. The pictures online made the rooms look a lot nicer than they truly are. Very run down. To top it off there was a USED razor in the shower! GROSS! Showered with my flip flops on after this… I didn't know hotels were BYO COMFORTER! all there was on the bed was a sheet used as the mattress cover and another sheet to use to cover yourself. Thats right, no COMFORTER! We left as soon as we could the next morning and canceled the last 2 nights.

It's not advisable to stay at the hotel unless you enjoy physically penetrating bass until 2am that disturbs your very core.

Excellent hotel. Staff and manager are super friendly and helpful. Don't be put off by the Hastings location. It's actually in a nice part of the east village. The manager seems to be working extra hard to bring this place up and give it a good reputation that he's literally working 7 days a week. But just a warning for any future guests there is a club that's open on weekends attached to the hotel downstairs. But that's easily remedied if you just ask the staff they will move you to a quieter part of the hotel. We've been here for a couple weeks now and we've never had an issue with the noise at all.

Stayed six nights (Jun, /Jul). The staff were consistently pleasant and helpful. The room was very clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. There is a restaurant at the hotel which has a moderate menu, but the food is very tasty and served with a "flair" City transportation is available right in front of the hotel and the service is excellent. Would not hesitate to book at the Waldorf again.

Nina Kravitz was the BOMB. Love the new Waldorf, as soon as I heard they were shutting down I went as many times as I could. Multi room party's, with the best vibes.

Went to the Tiki Bar with some friends on New Years 2012. After each of us paid $20 to get in (it was after 1am), my boyfriend paid $28 for 4 vodka sodas from the female bartender and got 4 soda waters instead. Sleazy. We felt insulted, and it was our word against the bartender's, so we left and won't be back.
