Although it's not the newest hotel in the city, it has been redecorated very nicely. It is very clean with comfy beds and pillows and extremely friendly and helpful staff. The prices are also very affordable and the breakfast buffet is delicious. In fact, the food in the restaurant, although a little on the pricey side for me, is exceptional. I do choose to stay here whenever possible if I need to spend the night in Edmonton.

Overall, it's been a great stay. You can tell it has been renovated and some of the older framework makes this quite obvious — bathrooms and carpet in particular — but the staff are friendly, the rooms clean and comfortable. Considering some of the price points for other hotels in the area, it's a great deal. Updated: I stayed here a second time and have come to really enjoy it. The staff are excellent and friendly, and the food from the restaurant is great. I will likely stay again in the future.

What they don't tell you when you book or check in is that the hotel is located directly beside the numerous train tracks where they change, pick up and organize all the cars… I was kept up quite literally all night by screeching and thunking and slamming metal. If your staying on the east, south (where I was) or north sides, forget it. My coworker on the west aide said he heard it but wasn't bothered enough to be woken by the sounds so should be good on that side. The front desk concierge was very, very friendly and the rooms were clean and have had some updates so one star for each of those. Just a heads up to be aware about it that's all.

Thank you Sawridge, we had such a great experience at my daughters Volleyball because of the Sawridge that I asked Nikki, at a busy check out cue to hold rooms for me for another weekend for another team event. Wires got crossed and I missed a cancellation. This sales manager and team helped resolve the massive cancellation charge. Book here it was a great experience and they put the costumer first. Sorry for the confusion Nikki or if I caused hardship to you. But you guys are the best. Thank you Sawridge! I'll be back again and again year after year.

Staff was so great! They went far beyond the call of duty to accommodate us when we had issues with another hotel that was not able to provide hot water. They held a room for us just in case we needed it. They even gave us some perks to make us feel welcome due to the inconvenience at the previous hotel. This was not even their issue. I will be using this hotel more in the future. The breakfast meal was tasty as well. :)

Had a full day conference here. The meeting rooms are good for what we used them for… bathrooms are very clean and the fragrance they use to scent them is very pleasant and not overpowering. The support staff are very friendly and helpful. The creations restaurant was decent. I had a salad that was very good and filling. I haven't stayed in the guest suites so I can't comment on them. I would be open to staying here in the future. Parking is tight and limited is an issue. Other than that I was satisfied with my experience at this hotel.

I've stayed here for a lot of volleyball tournaments over the past 3 years and it's a great hotel. They have a really great breakfast too.

I spent 2 nights there with my family. Staff, food, wine — all great! Trains didn't bother me but early morning diesel pick-ups, oh yeah. Still… we will return. Great overall value and walking distance to the Olive Garden!

Clean simple and friendly… breakfast is simple but the ingredients are better quality than your average holiday inn type hotel. The eggs are real and not some type of processed puck. Rooms are clean walls are a little thin… let's just say the guests beside me had a way better time than I did. Lol. The service was good and the staff was friendly. A good hotel for the price.

The only downside to the Sawridge is that it is right beside the tracks. That being said, I usually can have a decent sleeps here. The staff are great and care about the guests. I found them to be quite accommodating to the weary traveller. I appreciated thier flexibility when I needed a little understanding during my stay. I have stayed here more times than I can recall and have only had a couple of moments that I can say were less than satisfactory. I have stayed in some really awful places and I can say that for the money this is a good deal. I really appreciate the free breakfast, that is a truly a breakfast. Heck, they even make lattes, but they are extra. There is laundry and a gym that is ok as well.

We had the two queen room with the separate bedroom, worked well to keep the kids separate. The breakfast buffet was a good price with the 50% coupons we were given at check-in, but had very limited options (eggs, sausage, cereal, toast, oatmeal, fruit). Biggest complaint was the train right outside our window that went by a few times each night waking us up.

My son and I frequent this place for our Sunday brunch. They always have a variety of breakfast offering that appeal to the mass. My personal favourite is the eggs benedict… a must have! The service is excellent.

Cool vibe. Super nice staff. They also have vegetarian ans gluten free options in their restaurant, which is super tough to come by.

Stayed in the deluxe king suite, fantastic room, jacuzzi tub was definitely big enough for two and allowed lots of room to relax after a long day! Service was top notched and the complamentry hot breakfast was fantastic, would without question stay again.

I go to sawridge for my hair dresser, Joey at European hair salon. He's a fantastic hair dresser and have been going for many years. I recommend anyone who needs a haircut to go see him!

This is Greg’s & my home away from home! We stay here every couple of weeks for the most part, & have been for the past year. The staff is what makes our experience so amazing! Beyond friendly & professional. So accommodating & friendly! Right from the front desk (Avi & Victoria in particular haha), to the waiting staff in the restaurant, to the cleaning staff. Haven’t come across one person who didn’t say hi & try & make our stay comfortable! See you again very soon! ❤️

A very decent hotel. If your scent sensitive like I am then make sure to ask for sheets that have not been washed with fabric softeners that don't have scents in them and they can provide that. Unfortunately the restaurant is a little pricier than it deserves and that brings the stars from 5 down to 4.

Welcoming atmosphere in the lounge. Very relaxed. Staff was very pleasant and polite. Cold beer. Good food at a reasonable price.

We stayed here in December for 2 nights and I was blown away by the service. They were incredible, the rooms were large and clean. The hot water was actually hot. The breakfast was great, and the bar service was top notch. Will absolutely stay here again.

Though this place is a bit dated and not in a convenient place in regards to downtown, it still has been one of my most pleasant places to stay at in Edmonton. We had the Jacuzzi suite for the weekend, which was reasonably priced. The room was HUGE. All the rooms were huge, including the bathroom. The room was very quite, and you could barely hear the highway or the train tracks behind it, which is impressive. There's lots of parking, and the lobby is very clean and inviting. The only complaints I have are that my rooms keycard reader was dated, at best. Took multiple attempts each time to get into the room, which was a hassle when carrying bags and such. Also the hotels age shows in several ways, such as stained floors, stained ceiling tiles in the bathroom, damage to walls (specifically corners). The front desk was very friendly and the staff were helpful. I would hope next time it won't take so long to check in (over 15 minutes). I would recommend this room and this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing weekend getaway in a quiet and clean hotel.

My stay was good and the rooms was good.

We had a suite with one King and one queen bed. There is no kitchen which is a disappointment but the free hot breakfast make up for it. The restaurant on ground floor serve a very good breakfast considering it's free if you stayed. Don't forget to ask for 20% off if you are staying for any medical reasons like doc appointment. We didn't know after we paid. Overall, we had a great stay here.

Affordable and decent sized room and breakfast was included which was nice. This hotel could have all the amenities but I would still rate it 2 stars because I wasn't able to have a decent night sleep! This hotel is RIGHT next to train tracks so we were constantly awoken by the train and our room faced the parking lot which was equipped with a VERY bright light (really great to deter theft) but our black out drapes wouldn't shut all the way so I awoke many times thinking it was morning when it was actually only 2am. All in all, it was basically just a place to rest (I use this term loosely) our heads for the night but if you enjoy having a full uninterrupted sleep, I would avoid this hotel.

Service was OK, rooms are dated and mediocre with poor lighting options, heating system was extremely loud. Curtains do not close and the room is very bright all night long.

Stayed there for a night on Feb 25 2016, and I am glad that we stayed there only one night! The whole night we were disturbed by the locomotive trains noise (it runs frequently the whole night), the guest room did not have basics amenities such as microwave, fridge, even shower cap. / extra pillows. The heating system was noise also the mattresses were saggy. Off course the Wi-Fi is free but good luck if you can use the Internet during the peak hours (in the evening/ night time). They advertise Free breakfast but we were charged for the kid. Even though we were told at the time of check in that the kids under 6 are free!

My family and I went into the creations restaurant for Saturday breakfast. The food was fantastic and the coffee there was really delicious. My one complaint was that the service was a little bit slow.

Good service from a very friendly staff! Good room, very cozy and affordable. The breakfast could be better but is free so we won't complain too much about it.

I was interested in booking their private dining room for an anniversary celebration. After leaving two voice messages and sending an email, I was never contacted. Very unprofessional, in my opinion. Obviously they don't really want new business. So don't waste your time and look elsewhere.

Went to a wedding reception at the sawridge. The food was really good and they mark the vegetarian options so that there is no guessing. I ate way too much just trying to sample everything. The staff was pleasant and when I asked if there was somewhere I could breastfeed privately, they were very accommodating about finding me a conference room I could use and even brought me a coffee. I was made to feel very comfortable. And before the reception even started, we had been dropped off early with our kids and just wanted somewhere to wait until we could go to the reception hall, so they opened up the restaurant early and let us order coffees and milk for the oldest.
