Reviews of Fantasyland Hotel 3*
Super amazing! Just got here today but I am really impressed to the place it’s my first time and my little family enjoyed every moment here. I picked Roman theme. Super fancy and clean. Awesome staff and with amazing smile. The vibes are truly wonderful. Will definitely plan to experienced different theme of the room.
Our family literally vacations here, we love it! The staff always make us feel SO welcome! <3 We love to make a full family vacation out of it, so we stay 10-12 nights, enjoying everything the hotel and mall have to offer. The kids were young when we started this tradition, and now they're old enough to vote, and they STILL love our annual trips! It's the most anticipated time of year for them, and the most relaxing for us. No work to think about, just eating, shopping, fun! lol. The winters in Canada are cold, but the mall is temp. Controlled! Not a single winter coat needed, lol. And every day is different, we'll go shopping, bowling, take in a movie at the cinema or relax watching a movie in our room. The dining options are endless! We do it all, Rec Room, mini golf, ice skating, waterpark, galaxyland, our favorite is still watching the Sea Lions at Marine Life, we'll catch that show at least 3 times during our visit, lol. Room service is wonderful! The rooms are always incredibly clean and customer service is beyond kind.
Worst hotel reservation department ever. Coming from someone who’s been in the travel industry for over 20 years now and dealt with hotels worldwide The staff is very arrogant and they don’t really care if you’d make the bookings or not. They would not offer assistance in booking multiple rooms in the property and they would not accept a third party payment even though I offered to prepay through bank wire or credit card I’ve even spoken to someone in their middle management and still hit a wall Very strange from people supposedly working in the hospitality industry I would never recommend this hotel to any of our clients.
We recently stayed in an executive suite and were so impressed. The beds were comfortable, the jacuzzi tub was really fun and the front staff was absolutely wonderful. We organized this trip for my daughter’s birthday and after check-in, went shopping. Upon our return to the room, someone had left a birthday card and some chocolates for my daughter. Such a sweet gesture. The only thing I would have done differently is bring my own movie playing device as it was $15 to rent a movie. Otherwise, we had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend.
Paid way too much to stay in a gross jacuzzi room! Brutal front desk service, rude and had no idea what they were doing. Very disappointing. Have stayed here a few times and always have something go wrong, won’t stay here again. Unhappy guests everywhere.
Good price, good food and friendly staff, excellent location too.
Spent over 400$ on a room and it smelt like sewer the whole time. Not happy at all! No one knew what the actual problem was and never notified anyone, just said they were aware when everyone came down to the reception and weren’t happy!
Excellent place for family.
It was awesome 👌 very good service looking very beautiful.
Nice accommodation. It’s only the bathroom is too small to move around nevertheless we had a wonderful stay at the hotel.
We went there for our 5th anniversary and it was a great experience. The room was clean and exactly what we asked for. They left a little card and candies to help us celebrate our special time with them. We didn't bring our children but there were many families there.
Great rooms and staff are so helpful.
Large rooms great service!
Beautiful room. Great service. The jet tub was so relaxing. We look forward to returning.
Awesome! Love the atmosphere, how handy it is to the mall and fun things to do. Staff were 👌
Unique experience. Highly recommended.
Always great friendly staff.
We’ve been staying at this hotel for a few years now and my kids absolutely love it especially since they’re bigger now. The theme rooms are beautiful and the proximity to the mall is awesome. It’s a beautiful hotel and I highly recommended it! :)
Priceless service and one of a kind magical experience.
This is our 3rd time to be here. It was fun experience especially with my two girls.
Fun family retreat! Clean room and very helpful front desk staff!
Beautiful themes & great accommodation.
The bf and I, decided to stay here for a 3rd year anniversary.
Since all the theme rooms were booked we had to settle for the plain regular executive room. We were ok with that, as it had a king size bed and a Really nice jacuzzi. Got settled in and unpacked a bunch of things, tried to use jacuzzi but it had no power, water pressure, hot water and it had hair in it. Maintenance came, fixed the power issue but couldn't do anything else. The MAIN reason why we got the room was for the jacuzzi and the TV was close enough to it to watch at the same time. They switched us to the large executive suit. It was huge with two TVs that we didn't need. It was late evening at this point, and just settling in AGAIN. Tried the jacuzzi right away. Couldn't see the TV from it, wasn't nearly as nice and WAS DIRTY, but we thought it was just the colour of the tub. We started to see grime on the sides and dirt in the bubbles. Also, some towels were dirty, or at least stained, but was pretty gross.
At checkout, we made sure to get the receipt. It was the original price for original room. Later that day, the bf noticed his card was charged for the Large executive room we switched to, which is way more $$.
We pay well over $200 for a nice romantic time and nice place for the night, and it wasn't anything close. It was a mess. I'm Extremely unimpressed and dissapointed. Now we have to try and get our money back. Iv had better experiences in $80 a night motels. I'm just so livid.
The different theme rooms great for any age. Big spacious Jacuzzis. Two TVs in the room so your not fighting over channels. All in all I rate this a 10.
Such a fun and wonderful get away. We orginally had a room with some minor maintenance. Called front desk and we were taken care of immediately. Breakfast was delicious and such friendly staff. I honestly felt like royalty, and appreciated how well we were taken care of. Thank You Fantasyland Hotel.
Nice and great service staff are friendly.
Great service and excellent security.
Just tried to check in to a truck themed room as a surprise for our 3 year old son. After driving 3 hours we find out that they are short staffed and put the room we booked weeks ago out of order. Very poorly managed. Then offered a room that our son would not have enjoyed. They finally called us about the room after we walked out of the hotel.
It was amazing time! Thank you so much. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful.
It was a great getaway from Vancouver, BC. Thank you so much for the great experience. Theme rooms are super cool. The bath tubs are HUGE! Great for family fun!
Amazing theme rooms with the most convenient location. Staff is super friendly and accommodating. This is a fun getaway for my family every year and we always enjoy ourselves.
Excellent service of staff, rooms and food.
Haunted hotel rooms. I wouldn’t pay anything to stay there but great banquet service.
Always a great experience here, we have stayed here many times. Everything is here, extremely convenient.
Best experience ever. Best guest services ❤️
It's e very nice venue for parties. Excellent service.
I didn’t know they had themed rooms at all. My room was old and not dingy. Not impressed.
Great staff, clean rooms and stellar service.
Loved the decor of the Polynesian Room and the hotel staff were so helpful and friendly!
I love this place! The room service was fabulous and the food delicious! The room was gorgeous and our whole family had a blast. Definitely worth the money.
Great place everything at finger tips shopping foods entertainment's of all sorts to keep everyone all ages entertained & happy great family place cinema as well. Check it out for sure.
Very nice! Clean and friendly staff!
Huge rooms, comfy beds, excellent service from staff. The valet is so quick and all services were top notch.
Front desk people were very friendly and got us a good family deal, kid's had so much fun, next time we will pick the space theme.
This is the first time we book to this hotel. It is our son first birthday. We decided to try to booked themed room so that it will be memorable. Wow, we are so impressed with the quality and design of the room. It is spacious, clean and elegant. No regrets on our stay except we just did it for a night. Next time we will do it a bit longer. Very accessible to WEM facilities. Clean wash room. Free parking overnight for costumers. Highly recommended!
Awesome Space Room! We were missing something in our room and they had someone up with it in minutes. The staff were great! Quite happy!
This was a great hotel to stay at. The location was awesome and had very convenient access to the mall. I found the theme rooms to be interesting and a great treat for kids. That is why I plan to come back to this hotel one day with my kids. I would give it a higher rating but I found the service here to be very slow. The staff didn't seem to be in a hurry to provide services. I know they are busy with other stuff but they could work on their speed. I had been travelling for 20 hours before I arrived and was met with a huge lineup which was not a good first impression. I saw other guests complaining about this too and there was one guy that waited for half an hour.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Definite kudos to the front desk and cleaning staff. Rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. However showers had incredibly poor water flow. Amenities were also lacking compared to other hotels, including lack of pool and hot tub, fitness centre was a far walk from hotel (but it was a full fitness centre) and Wi-Fi is unfortunately shared with the rest of the mall, so expect slow connection when mall is busy.
Fabulous. Rooms are nice, staff are incredible. Parking kind of needs improvement, the front door doesn't allow much for unloading as there is really only room to drop people off. But the amenities are worth it. Staying for a few more days, but so far 5++++ stars! Like the infusion water in the lobby too!
The themed rooms were neat but still a lot of stuff crammed in a small room. Was pricey but it was nice being attached to the mall. I would have gone 5 stars but for what we paid for the room it was what I considered dirty. The sheets had sand in them, the pickup turk in the room under the seats (the extra bed was in the cab of the truck) was dirty. Or youngest son got his fingers stuck in the door handle. All in all it was a fun time.
We were told a reg room would be 200, but they could swing it for 160 plus tax so about 180. We were thinking of stating elsewhere and were just inqiring. So my husband asked if there was breakfast Included. The answer was no but since it would be our first stay we could have breakfast and charge to our room then when we checked out they would deduct it. Next morning I had a feeling and went to the desk and asked. There was no record of this deal. Thanked them for being big liars to us and checked out. Front desk manager left a message at my home to call him on his direct line. 2 times I did leaving a contact number and a time to call me. Nothing. So 3rd time again no answer. This company sucks. It may seem minor but you don't do that to people. Will never refer them and will always tell how bad they were to us.
The themed Truck room was splendid. It kept our boys busy in the cab. Our youngest just couldn’t get away from the steering wheel. He loved it when he found out the truck seat (futon) became a bed. He fell asleep with one hand on the wheel!. Great place to have experiences with your kids that they will always remember.
Stayed at a Polynesian themed room. Lots of fun, with thematic touches like the jacuzzi tub's tap being a waterfall. The only negative thing I could say is that the bunk-bed ladder didn't seem very safe (my kids ended up hurting themselves) but overall it was a wonderful hotel experience!
Fantastic! Very nice wedding.
Stayed at the Roman Theme Room. The room was great and was set-up with roses, a birthday card, and chocolates for my girlfriend's birthday. We also got sparkling wine and a set of "lotions" with our package as part of a spring promotion. Aside from a slightly "off" smell in the washroom, everything was awesome and I would definitely stay there again.
This place is stunning. It is absolutely beautiful especially if you are planning to take it differently, this hotel really amazed me. The themed room are perfect for everyone, children would love the themed rooms. The only complaint I have is that the room wall is kinda thin so you might hear your neighbours talking.
Location is great. Attached to the mall. Very good deals on the tickets. Rooms are so unique. Very very nice. Service is so so by far. Not the best.
Convinent location to attend all the activities the mall has to offer. We stayed in the truck room and was surprised by all the fun features, such as the tail lights that work, bar lights and a gas pump light. Jacuzzi tub was nice and filled fast, rooms were moderately soundproofed. Overall, we would stay here again.
Stayed over for our anniversary celebration. Modern Polynesian room was great, quiet and spacious. Airjet tub was also much nicer than a standard jetted tub. Upon booking we received two nights dinners at the adjacent L2 Grill. Food and service were great as well.
We requested an early check in which we understood might not be possible. When we did check in 2 hrs past regular check in they said our room wasn't ready and they would call us when it was, they never did. We had to cancel our dinner reservations as we were planning to get ready in our room. However the room was nice and the manager that eventually checked us in (Chelsey? ) Was very helpful which saved my wife's birthday and our first time out together in 4 years.
Stayed in a Roman room suite very fun and comfortable. Great service at front desk and all over the mall. Was great to be able to shop and have fun and then come back to a room to relax.
Non existent customer service. I've made multiple attempts to confirm a flower delivery to a room and haven't been in contact with anybody useful. FRONT DESK RINGS ENDLESSLY, reservations transfers me to front desk, front desk supervisor transfers me to front desk in a haste of avoiding my question let alone answering it. The hotel appears wonderful but I would second guess booking based on the lack of service… funny thing is they answer the phone "Fantasy Land Hotel Reservations, how can I make your stay more fun? "
Stayed two nights with my wife and two young kids. As far as hotels go, it's not to bad. Themed rooms are a cool, we stayed in the Polynesian room then a sports themed room (watched the leafs destroy the Habs) Rooms were clean and inviting and beds were comfortable.
The Jacuzzi was great, every one had fun. The L2 reastraunt was not really all that great, but there are many other good choices in the mall.
Over all it was a good stay. One beef, over priced.
We would stay again.
My kids really enjoyed the truck room. Front desk was really pleasant to deal with as well. My toddler was very tired after our busy day, so I checked to see if we could check in early if our room was ready, and thankfully we were able to. The price is very high in my opinion. If it was cheaper we would stay more often. We stayed at a nearby place the night before to save a bit. Otherwise the room itself was good.
We had a horrible experience with our stay at this hotel. We booked adjoining rooms as we have 6 children. When we arrived they said that another guest had extended their stay in one of those rooms and didn't want to move so now we could have 2 rooms 3 doors down from each other. Chelsey at the front desk seemed quite confused why there would be an issue with this as "you have 2 adults so it works. " How would this be acceptable to any family? In the end we just took one room that slept 6 (we are a family of 8). Chelsey and Robert at front desk were seriously lacking in the customer service department. Interestingly I met a lady who took a bus with her children and grandchildren to stay at fantasyland, she had a group of over 20 people. She said they completely messed up their adjoining rooms as well. The hotel staff insist that adjoining rooms are "a request" not guaranteed. How is it in 2018 adjoining rooms booked months in advance can't be honored? RIDICULOUS.
When we arrived to check into our truck theme room, we were told, “oh sorry, you booked the space room. ” Which we did not. The lady at the front desk reassured us that the space room was much better anyways. So we went to our room. It was SO DARK. Not all the lights worked and the ones that did, were shitty. There was NO dinning table. Where is my family suppose to eat? No microwave. We had an executive suite, so this seemed very odd. There was also no breakfast included. So we bought from their menu, it wasn’t very good, and was extremely over priced. Also when we were checking in, they tried to bill us an extra $150.00 for “room upgrade. ” Even though we’d already paid for it all. Thank god I brought my recipets as they tried to charge us again the next night AND AGAIN at check out. I also feel like since there is valet, that they’d educate their staff on vehicles. My truck has power folding mirrors, and to my horror, I watched them just pushing and pulling on my mirrors. The beds were also super hard. All around a terrible experience. Please choose one of the other hotels close to the mall.
Great experience at Fantasyland Hotel a usual. Though the standard rooms are becoming dated they are well maintained and always clean. The staff are friendly and helpful. Of course the overall reason for the stay — proximity to the mall — is unbeatable. Great for a mid-winter family getaway.
A very nice hotel. Rooms are nice, clean. The new Polynesian was rennovated and very nice. Staff were all friendly. Only negative was elevators took forever to wait for, and the beds weren't incredible, but also weren't that bad. Overall a nice place to stay.
Stayed in Arabian room first night. One of the older rooms but nice! Shower handle needed some update/repair but otherwise generally well kept and luxury. Second night we stayed in the Roman room. It had a circular bed and large tub. This room has been updated and is very luxurious and detailed. The passes you can get to go with the mall attractions is worth taking advantage of as well.
The Roman room… is gorgeous and thank u to the woman who took the time to go over every room details with me on the phone when preparing this trip… we did not expect every detail of gold in the room including our garbage can and the details in our bathroom and hot tub… I rate this 5 stars because of the room and how quiet, clean it is here… you could just stay in the room and feel u are in a magical kingdom and u are the king and queen… and what great sleep we had so much privacy. The maids didn't bother us until we called to come clean up our room. And they were professional and friendly… we were so happy about that… u don't even have to go into the mall u just want to stay here and watch yourself lying in bed from the mirror ceiling. I couldn't believe the wall paper was gold with pieces of glitter in every millimeter… 24 hour gym, mini casino, indoor ice skating rink, huge waterworld park, great selection of stores for shopping, good selection of bars and restaurants, movies, comedy and dinner show, amusement park and so much more. I love the decor and the creative layout in the mall … u don't have to go anywhere in Edmonton this place is full of fun!. This is the place u want to be. 3 to 4 days to stay here is my recommendation. A place for fun, romance or a family experience… I recommend u come here at least once in your life if you are visiting the west of Canada. But u have to stay in one of these special rooms. That is the experience u really want to have.
Had a bad experience on our last stay, arrived at the hotel before check-in time and figured our room would not be ready yet and it wasn't so no big deal; left our bags with the bell desk and was told we would receive a text message when our room was ready but if we didn't receive a text before 4pm to just come back and pick up our room key. By about 5pm we never received a text so we returned to pick up our keys, we were met with a very large very slow moving line. Not wanting to standing in line if our room was still not ready we figured we'd call and ask, got bounced to 3 different people before we were told "sorry I'm busy helping someone else right now and we'll call you back *click*" No one ever did call back so we waited in line for 45 minutes to be told our room was not ready (about 2 hours after check-in time) We expressed our displeasure and let the front counter person know we would like to speak to a manager or would like our money back so we can go to another hotel; well now our room was "ready". So finished checking in to go to the room and find it was sill being cleaned… O well dropped our bags in the room and left. The room itself? Old and outdated like most reviews say. One of the lights above the tub flickered rapidly so it stayed off which made the room dark. The thermostat in the room did not work properly as it was set to about 22 but in the mornings the room would be about 15.
We stayed in the Roman room, it's been nicely renovated with a lot of space. Staff was nice and helpful, even with how busy they were. Would definitely recommend for special occasions.
Stayed in the space themed room was really cool, our son loved it. No windows but I guess that goes with the theme. Sweet setup with a spa and a double bed bunk bed and queen for the adults. Cool light themes and nice and warm. Had a problem with the shower and maintenance came and fixed the problem with in an our. Service was pleasant.
This hotel is something to be desired!
From the moment we pulled into the car port I was a dissatisfied customer. There were people smoking right outside the doors and the entry way was littered with butts and garbage. Checking in was a gong show… when I booked our three night stay I booked a package on one night that gave me 4 breakfast vouchures and 2 taxi vouchers to Rogers Place as well as valet service. The customer service rep also gave me a package on another night that included 4 more breakfast vouchers and 4 waterpark or galaxyland passes and tossed in 4 extra breakfast vouchers. The CSR also stated that we would be able to valet park when we got there and leave the vehical until we left, seeing as we didn't have to drive anywhere during our stay…
At check in they didn't have a room available for us and took about 10 minutes to move things around to make it work. We were advised we could only use the valet on the night we booked that package and even if we wanted to pay for valet it wasn't an option because they were full. We ended up just parking in the mall parking lot and ultimately we had vehical trouble *because of the cold weather and no place to plug in* so we weren't able to move to valet at all. Even hotels that charge $99 a night have plugs for the majority of there customers. The valet parking also would not have alleviated this issue with our vehiacl as valet parking is not a guarantee plug in either. This the prairies for God Sakes!
Stayed in the luxury Roman Themed room. Room decor was very nice and spacious. Room thermostat was not working properly. Had trouble adjusting to desired temperature. Limited channels on TV. Only one trash can in the room besides the bathroom. With a room that size should have another trashcan. Found a hair in one of the towels. Bed sheets were worn and can see pilling. But the hot tub worked well and was very comfortable. Overall, for the price paid, expected much higher quality.
I've only stayed in the hotels twice, once for a birthday and the second time for my anniversary in the Hollywood suite, it was amazing! I don't remember much the first time but when I stayed in the hollywood suite they were very accommodating and gave us the room we asked for, had a goodies bag upon entrance, our rooms were always clean when we got back to them. I really have nothing to complain about, it's a bonus because you can rent movies on TV that are still in theater or just came out!
Wait for it… we were there Dec 1 & 2, what a disappointment for over $200 a night. The place is outdated. Waiting forever to check in. The elevator waiting got ridiculous and there was always one out of service. The television would shut down on its on. You could only use one setting On the shower head. That place is stuck in the 90’s. Positive side: The staff was very friendly. I can recommend a few other places in Edmonton much cheaper, and way more modern.
Such bad management! My family recently stayed at fantasyland November 24-26 and unfortunately within minutes of being checked in there was a pepper/bear spray ATTACK. Yes the hotel finally combed my room but the fact that my wife had to take my youngest son back to Calgary to give him proper care due to his reaction to the pepper spray really obviously wrecked our weekend. I then had to catch a ride back to Calgary with other family members which wasn’t the funnest situation. I was then asked to fill out a survey days later on my visit from the generic gm. I filled out the survey and let the gm know I wasn’t pleased with my overall stay. All I wanted was a little consideration on how my little 6 year was doing. Just a little compassion. I honestly love fantasy land hotel but this manager needs to learn basic human decency or be fired. My son is still recovering from this incident, not from the pepper spray but that he had to miss such was suppose to be a great weekend.
I initially booked a standard room but was offered to upgrade for a fee. Definitely worth it as the newly renovated Roman room was awesome with the nicer bathroom, spacious, interesting circle bed (with overhead mirror), and large jacuzzi in the middle of the room. The staff were friendly and the salmon eggs benny was good without breaking the bank. I would recommend to stay here if you gwt a chance. Book a standard room and test your luck with the upgrade as it ended up being a lot more affordable this way.
We couldn't have asked for a better experience. From the booking agent, to the front desk and the concierge that treated us superbly. The room was spacious and the bedding luxurious, better than our own. I highly recommend booking directly. We mightve saved a bit of money initially, but they comped us extra passes to the water park. These passes were worth the cost of one nights stay. Plus the lounge in the lobby is so convenient for some 'couple time'.
First off waited for maybe a half an hour to even get checked in, with two very antsy kids. Was very disappointed in the size of the room, for over $400 we definitely expected more. Planned to have a relaxing evening, zero TV channels for children and of course we packed our xBox for just that reason. Could not get to the HDMI port on the TV. Front desk sent maintenance only to find out the TV's are so outdated that they do not even have HDMI. Jacuzzi tub kept draining as the plug was broken.
All in all not worth the price at all. Totally outdated, not tasteful. For this price my expectations were high. Stayed in many other hotels that were less than half the price and much nicer.
Probably will never visit again.
Theme rooms are interesting to go to. The options are pretty cool. It is pricey imo but for a special occasion or something like a mini stay vacay with your kids — it is cool. We never took our kids but I think they would have loved it… when they were under 10. I saw an ad for a new princess room and thought "what a great girls b-day party option". It looks pretty nice. Being at the mall and having access to all the activities, venues and stores there is great as well.
Suites were nice. Much more affordable if you purchase a deal in the low season. Accompanying restaurant's food was so good! Convenient location inside a mall with plenty of nearby restaurants food court style and family restaurants.
I loved being in a hotel that I didn't have to travel everywhere. All attractions are here and when you're tired, you just go back to your room. Friendly staff, clean and spacious rooms. Great stay.
The entire experience was a lovely family vacation. I read some earlier reviews about the "dated" rooms. We stayed at the new Polynesian themed room that had bunk beds. Nothing felt dated on the entire floor. The rooms felt modern and high end. There where nice touches, like the crib being in the room because we had a young one with us and the free bottled water felt really great. The housekeeping staff was very friendly. The front desk was professional, accommodating and happy. The lemon and orange water that is complementary in the lobby was inviting and much needed after a long drive. The new renovations are looking fantastic. I recomend stopping on all the floors in the hotel to see the cool themes. (Although this might be the reason for wait times for the elevator. ) Paying for the water park package and taking advantage of some of the fun stuff like golf, theater, galaxy land, is worth it. It really adds to the experience. Everyone in our family had a great time. Lots of fantastic memories for all of us. No complaints.
Not impressed. For the hefty price this hotel has, it sure as hell does not live up to it. We arrived at 11.00am in the morning thinking we could ask for an early check-in. But NO the hotel front desk made sure that was not gonna happen. We were promised a call as soon as our room was ready but, SHOCKER! The call never came. We went back at 3:00 and it still wasn't done! Aren't the guest suppose to check out at 12:00? which room takes 5 hours to clean?! am definitely not coming back.
We stayed in the executive king suite which was $278 a night. The bathroom was very small and the room was nice and the Jacuzzi was awesome but overall I would say the price didn't match the room, under $200 would make more sense. Upon check-in we realized that valet was not added as we requested. The lady that was handling our check-in wasn't very friendly and I think its because I asked her to speak up as there was a lot of noise with the other people checking in and I couldn't hear her. After I said I couldn't hear her she was very short with us. There really isn't much for TV channels and to rent a movie you're looking at around $18 so I suggest bringing a laptop and an HDMI cable with your own programming. The phone in our room did not work so we had to call for room service from a cell phone. The nachos we got from room service weren't the best, the cheese wasn't even melted, I am sure they have other things on the menu that are better though. I have to say the L2 grill they have was fantastic! we went there for dinner and breakfast and the food and service was outstanding. Also make sure you do a good check on your room before you leave because we left a phone cable in our room and I called two hours after we left and house-keeping said they would call back but did not and so I followed up the next day and they said nothing was found… very sketchy.
Perfect location for a conference. I was able to get to my sessions easily and if necessary was able to go to my room in during breaks. This made it so I didn't need to carry as much around with me to the sessions. Being in the mall made going out for dinner very convenient. Being able to wander the mall was entertainment in itself. Although the rooms show their age, they were clean and tidy.
We stayed at the fantasyland hotel to celebrate our 12th wedding Anniversary, we stayed in one of the Roman rooms and it was fabulous. The front desk ladies were amazing. The Room was beautiful we had asked for one of the special packages that the hotel offers. We got rose petals and sparkling wine with a gift basket. It was very beautiful and nice to enjoy some quiet time away for the night. Will definitely be going back.
It was okay. Stayed in the luxury Polynesian suite and a night rang in close to $500. No microwave in the room (guess this isn't standard? I've stayed in bare bones places that still have a microwave), and the jets in the jacuzzi didn't work, which was a bit disappointing. They've also renovated the Polynesian rooms recently, and the photos on the website aren't accurate. Though the room is still nice, I prefer the original design and wish the photos on the website had been updated. I'd stay here again if we decide to do the attractions at WEM another time, but wouldn't pay for the most expensive room. The extra seating space, though ample, wasn't really necessary for us and the jacuzzi, as it didn't work properly, was disappointing.
Stayed in a Roman sweet was awesome stay however we payed for the romance package it was supposed to have a bottle of wine red rose petals all over the place and a sensual gift basket that was all there however the wine was the worst wine I had ever tasted the gift basket was like shower gel cheap stuff but the petals were nice we had dinner at the l2 lounge we have been there many times before and it's always been good this time however I found my cut of steak very thin not like it usually is juicy and thick and also quite a bit overcooked, I'm hoping the l2 chef just had a off night as it is one of my favourite steak houses to go to in the city.
The venue is very classy and presentable. I love all the fun themes this hotel has for each floor, plus the fact that it's connected to the largest mall in North America is plus in case you need to do shopping or take kids around to entertain them. The rooms were very clean and well kept with customer service on point of being helpful and informative.
Our check-in was not-so-hassle-free. Room was not available for when it's time to check in. Staff said housekeping got behind on cleaning it as the previous guest did a late check out. We were offered a temporary room while our theme rm was being cleaned — — an inconvenience for sure but that was a better alternative than waiting in their lobby with 2 toddlers who are sooooo ready to nap. The polynesian rm was nice, kids loved the jacuzzi! Breakfast at L2 was great — — — lots of good selection. Location of hotel was great coz it's inside a mall — — lots of places to go to and lots to do. Got a bunch of free passes to mall attractions and to the movies from the hotel from what happened at check in.
After being on the road for 13 hours with a toddler and two dogs this was refreshing. The staff that checked us in were so friendly and went above and beyond for us to help make our stay perfect. The convenience of the mall makes it the perfect stop for a family vacation, with everything at your finger tips. The only suggestion I would make, is design an area for families traveling with pets, so the dogs can run a bit and use the restrooms.
We stayed because discount gift cards were available over the holidays, which made the theme rooms far more affordable than typical. The Roman theme room was fun and the hot tub was wonderful! The food at L2 Lounge was somewhat disappointing in regards to quality. The elevators in the hotel were chronically packed. Overall a fun enough stay but would not qualify as "luxury".
It was easy to get to. The staff was pbenomenal. They went above and beyond. They remember your name. The theme room was the coolest. Prompt room service. The food delivered to the room was hot. Everyone was so very respectful and helpful. The staff truly care. My kids and I had the best time. Absolutely unforgettable! Spend the money and just do it! Go! On a five star rating scale, they would get a six!
Lots of fun for the whole family. Themded rooms are a hoot.
Have stayed there many times but last couple of times have not been great. They over charged our stay and told us we agreed to the price. They said I agreed to this on the phone recording but then would let me listen to my own recording. So odd.
I literally wish I could give no stars. The staff I dealt with were all snakes and they overcharged my friend 430 dollars because they screwed up. They don't tell you when you book your room to budget an extra 250 dollars for HIDDEN FEES. The rooms are nice but for two nights it's not worth 1100 dollars. Especially when you expected to only be paying 800. You think it will be worth the Money but it's not people. You spend most of your time in the mall anyway just go book a cheap/mediocre hotel room and save yourself a bunch of hassle from the awful and fake people at the front desk. If you do end up staying here for whatever reason a be sure to check over your room completely and don't be afraid to complain because according to another patron if you do they will give you free things. They sure didn't try to make our stay any better. This hotel is nice looking but it's crap. Don't stay here.
2 star hotel. Room was not clean. Maids came in our room at eight in morning said we were checked out. Not a good sleep, beds were gross.
4star hotel and only two tower's. One shampoo, one conditioner and only one body each for 5 people. No other comment (then I made reservation, I did mentioned about 5 people)
We stayed in the Igloo suite on our first night — the room was quite small for the price but otherwise it was great, the beds and bedding were very comfortable. We did however all seem to break out after using the jacuzzi. Possibly from some cleaning supplies or something I'm not sure. Our next two nights we stayed in a superior room — our stay there was horrible! We barely got any sleep as we had to listen to a domestic disturbance the first night which happened at 9:30 p. M. And again at 1:00 a. M. And the room beside us had children that sounded like were in our room they were so loud. I know that is not really the hotels fault — but the thin walls suck for this. After our first sleep in the superior room we asked that they send us blankets like they have in the igloo room as the blankets in the superior room were horrible and we were cold and were hoping for a better sleep the next night. They sent us up some crappy thin blankets that were dingy and old. I stayed here with my mom and my 10 year old son and I'm 6 months pregnant, none of us were very pleased. With the price you pay to stay at this hotel I think you should be looking at 5 star ratings all around but that's not the case. I will not book here again as it's not worth the money.
We arrived at 4:30, room wasn't ready so they offered us a $40 credit for the lounge. We spent $22, but they didn't give us any discount off the room with unused credit. Loud noise from another room, possibly hot tub jets? Was on for at least 10 minutes. Very loud! Can hear kids in other rooms and hallways Can hear banging from another floor Tassels missing from bedding Blood spots on bedding Will not be back. For $420/night for a theme room, I expected much better service and a cleaner, well maintained room.
Very unique place stayed there in 2005. Very expensive though.
Expensive Rooms, Horrible Parking, and it just feels like this hotel is trying to be fancy but failing. The theme room I got was small for the price, and was very dirty. If your going to stay here, go in the normal rooms, those aren't constantly sold out.
Stay away. Awful, dirty, falling apart. Hasn't been renovated since the 80s. Old and falling appart. This hotel is falling into pieces. Rooms are dirty. First room (Roman theme) we checked into, the hot tub did not work. The soap bottles were half empty. Huge stain on the carpet. And it was filty. That room was $388.00/night plus tax. We called the front desk to complain just to be told that no-one could take our call. They were too busy. We eventually got upgraded to the Hollywood room. What an upgrade. This one had crayon on the walls. The wallpaper and molding were cracked and falling off the walls. Disgusting stains all over the bed sheets. Light fixtures held with electrical tape. Lots of light bulbs needed replacement. My wife opened the in room dining book and it was full of some personal lubricant. We pulled some gross matter out of the hot tub drain. Got offered to be on their preferred guest list for our next visit. We will never go to fantasyland hotel nor would we recommend it to anyone.
We booked with them to stay in an adjoining theme room, they assured us (the day of check in) that we would have one. When we checked in, they told us they gave away our room, but they could give us two rooms on the same floor. With small children that was just not going to work. So we declined and they proceeded to tell us we would be charged for the rooms ($800+) because we didnt cancel 24 hours in advance. Naturally we were upset so they eventually (with much pleading) decided not to charge us. We had to leave and found another hotel down the street (the Double Tree) who was more than accommodating and gave us a discount when they heard of our troubles.
Our family, visits Fantasyland Hotel once every month. The service starting from getting greeted by valet, to checking in, with the very professional reception staff. Our room is always clean and Perfect! and we just recently stayed in the Luxury Western Room and my son just loved it as we did. We normally come during the week, but this time we came on the weekend, was super busy,,, but the customer service was 5 star. Will make a point of always comeing once a month to get away. Looking forward to our next visit. The staff is always friendly and very helpful. The staff is also awesome with my son!. L2 restaurant is also 5 star service, Again staff knows us well and makes it easy to keep coming back. Always a Pleasure to come back. If there is anything we have ever needed or asked for it is done immediately! Look forward to next visit. Mrs. Tracy Powers.

We stayed two nights at Fantasyland hotel. The staff were awesome. The valet service went above and beyond in some the coldest days we’ve experienced in a long time in Alberta. The rooms were awesome. Quiet and very comfortable. Highly recommend. Galaxyland was a blast.
